"I'm not sure Starclan even knows. At least they don't bother us too much. As long as we keep our distance from the trechorous beasts," Foxstar spat, "and as for those monsters..." He shivered as he made a quick trot towards the gorge where the hunting would be plentiful.

Sensing that the she-cat had picked up a scent, the tom crept down in a similar crouch and began to stalk the opposite direction so that their hunting didn't interfere with one another. Soon enough, Foxstar caught scent of a robin and crept forward, keeping his tail from sweeping across the the forest floor.

    Accepted~

Foxstar hunched forward and waggled his hunches. Just ahead of him was a robin, a plump one. His heartbeat was pounding in his ears as he breathed slow and steady, focusing on where he was to land. Tensing his muscles, the tom began to launch forward. The bird sensed this and started to fly towards the sky, but before it was far off the ground, Foxstar clamped the body between his claws and slung him to the ground, sending feathers flying.

ooc: mkay, just let me know

Foxstar killed the bird with a swift bite and lifted himself from the ground. He turned to kick dust over the bird and come back for it later. After covering the freshkill, the tom began to seek another scent of prey.

Foxstar twitched his whiskers and let out a small purr. "That's something you don't see every day, eh? Good job, Shadowstrike, only.." as Foxstar sat down, he sent a glance to the bird in the she-cat's jaws, "you'll be the one to eat it if you wish."

    Chapter One - The Comedown

    Oli's P.O.V.

I ran as fast as I could out of my mum's car into Collin's garage, slamming the passenger door closed. The early spring sky was beginning to show faint hints of navy blue. Crap..

I was almost an hour late for band-practice. The band was supposed to meet at seven for practice and it was a quarter to. And Collin looked pissed. No, that was definitely an understatement..

I listened to my mum drive away while running towards the waiting band. Collin, our lead guitarist, was staring at me, eyes squinted. "Hurry up, Oli!" He exclaimed. The band's bassist, Leo, chuckled as if he was laughing at me and lazily leaned back against the garage entrance. Jeremy, our drummer, seemed oblivious to my arrival, lost in his own world of practicing. Then there was Nate, the other guitarist, staring at the plastered wall, mouth hanging loosely open.. No doubt stoned.

Collin appeared only more pissed the closer I got to him. Hey, at least I was here. With Collin staring me down every step I took, it made the ten-foot walk seem like ten miles. "Right. Well. Hi." I said simply when I reached the band. Collin huffed and began to plug in the guitars and mic.

I took my position by the cheap duct-taped microphone and cleared my throat. Tapping the mic and blowing into it, I double-checked to see if it was on and functioning. The stereo made a squealing then repeated my testing with a thump thump. Alright, so they worked.

The awkward tension lingered through the air and I grumbled. It wasn't my fault I was late, really.. Okay, maybe it was my fault.

    My thoughts were interrupted.

    "One- two- three!"

    Matt's P.O.V.

"So what I'm trying to say is, we're over."

I gagged and stared at my girlfriend.. my ex-girlfriend, in bewilderment. "Wha-What?!" I stood up from my chair and placed my hands flat against the polished table of the restaurant. Julie looked up at me, her green eyes watering. "Sit down, Matt- You'll make a scene.." I sat.

"I'm sorry, Matt. You're a really nice guy. It's not you, it's me.. It's just that I don't think we'd work out.. And we've been having disagreements lately, and.."

I didn't bother to listen to the rest of Julie's pointless ramble. It was over, and I knew there was no point in trying to plead for her back. Also, that would just make me look pathetic. "I get it.." I said to cut Julie off from trying to save herself. "You don't have to explain, I understand." I forced a smile and ignored the sharp feeling dragging in my stomach.

Julie brightened and smiled. "Really?" I simply nodded, afraid that my voice would crack if I said another word. She lifted herself up from the booth seat and leaned over to kiss my cheek.

Her lips feathered my skin and I trembled. She straightened up again and looked down at me with a smile. Julie really believed that I was okay with us breaking up. "Bye, Matt!" She said cheerfully whilst walking away. She acted as if it was a casual good-bye.

Did that just happen? I watched Julie walk away, towards the restaurant door and out to the streets. Yeah.. It happened. My stomach clenched and I leaned against the seat, feeling as if I'd been stabbed in the chest.

"Can I help you, sir?" A blond waitress gleefully asked in a forced tone and smiled a forced smile. What was the point of forcing anything.. I thought to myself and shook my head. "No.. I just.. Need time.." The waitress seemed confused, yet she walked away.

What I really needed was a drink.
