    Jane

Slowly opening the book, she idly flipped through a few pages, examining their length and catching short glimpses of a few words. A soft clanging from the kitchen, drew her attention from the books. She was greeted with the sight of Adam gathering up his used dishes. It was obvious he hadn't been expecting company..well she wasn't really company more like a refugee. Her hand stilled when he questioned her about..why exactly she was running. A cold sweat formed on the back of her neck, should she tell him? Her father had told her explicitly not to tell anyone about what she was..under any circumstances..but..she didn't know what else to say. And if she did tell Adam what exactly she was, her stomach dropped at the thought of what they would possibly do to him. Maybe they would do what they had to her parents- her throat tightened. Even though she didn't know what exactly happened to her parents..she knew it was something horrible. What was worse was that she didn't even know if they were alive or not..tears pricked at her eyes.

No. She couldn't think about that, she needed to stay focused so she quickly blinked those dreaded tears away from her eyes. "I uh..if I told you..you'd be dragged in with me..and you're already risking so much for me..." she explained, giving him a weak smile over her shoulder. Her eyes dwindled on his frame..he looked tense..why? Her guard peeked it's head up for a moment, that was curious but..she didn't ask..for now. "I uh-" she picked at her bottom lip with a nail subconsciously, "you said that there was a place..? Where people could help me get out of the city..? Can you tell me more about that?" she questioned, taking a few steps closer to him. She really needed the information that he had to offer.

    Jane

The way Adam took a sudden step towards her had the girl immediately backpedaling, and..all of the training her father had put her through was completely gone. In just one second because she was startled, almost 20 years of training poof out of her brain. "I'm sorry!" she squeaked, her hand slapping over her mouth in shame. God how stupid could she be! She hadn't given the idea that they were watching each house the light of day, and now that it was exposed to her..it seemed quite plausible. Watching in a stunned silence, Jane started to pick at her lip again, was he going to kick her out?

When he finally seemed to calm just a tad from his panic, he looked to her and the way those eyes stared at her as those words fell from his lips, sent her ice cold. He knew. She could feel all the apprehension building up deep inside her belly. She was tempted to flee, but she realized..he had locked the door. Immediately she was sent onto high alert, taking a few cautious steps back from him. Yet the way he spoke..he sounded sad..almost. Alone. An overwhelming sense of compassion and almost pity flushed through her system..he was just as lonely as she was.

At that moment, she realized..he wasn't going to turn her in..or so she hoped..and she really needed that info to help get out of the city. Looking up into his eyes, "I'm a-uh..My parents are Deborah 2331 and my father is Leonard 5040..they were..obviously like your people, altered..and one day my mother got pregnant and..now here I am-" she stopped for a moment, her breath catching in her throat as she took a deep inhale "They...they disappeared yesterday afternoon.." She knew she was saying too much, but she needed his trust..she needed his info and..she didn't want to lie to him anymore. He from what she saw..has gone through enough. "I'm sorry for lying.." she looked down to her hands finally, her thumbs spinning round and round one another nervously "I just..don't want anymore people to get hurt because of me..so if you could just tell me where it is..and I'll leave you alone.." this was the best for the both of them..well maybe more so for him..she'd probably never make it out of the city at this rate.

Artur growled quietly to himself, he knew that Aiden was guilting him, even if he really didn't mean to..he was doing it. How many birthdays had he missed? How many times had she cried and he wasn't there to protect her from more harm? He...He needed to stay. "Alright fine..but if you think I'm going to move in, think again. I have a house about an hour out of town.." he searched his pockets for a moment before he finally found what he was looking for, his personal card. It held the number to his personal cell and the aforementioned house, and he gave it to Aiden for safe-keeping, his sister had never been good at keeping track of things. He noticed how a bright smile broke across Harley's lips at the fact that he was going to be around more often. A soft squeal left her lips before she was suddenly on him, squeezing him tightly around his middle. "Hey easy there." he grunted out firmly, but he couldn't deny the smile that crossed his face, this felt nice..this felt right to have his sister near.

Pippa could only follow as Mo struggled desperately in his brother's arms "Oi! Let me go you twat!" he shouted, before a boisterous laughter started to leave his lips when his sides were tickled. He hated being tickled, absolutely hated it. "Come on man it was just a joke!" he whined out between vicious pants and loud laughter, desperately trying to break free of his brother's grip, he in turn jabbed his fingers against his brother's back, trying to get himself free. The girl couldn't stop the giggle that passed her lips at the sight of the brothers rough housing, before a twitch of a twig from the woods around them dragged her attention away. Peering into the woods, she frowned, where had that come from? There was a snapping of a twig, and then a flash of brown. A deer maybe? She peeked back over to where Mo was still struggling to get free from Aaron's grasp...they probably wouldn't mind right? And besides..she was just going to take a look, maybe she'd get to see that deer! Being careful to be soft on her feet, she padded away, into the woods after that flash of brown she saw.

Ilaria gave a soft grumble in her crib, it had been about two hours since Feliciano had gotten home and after a rather intense playing session, his little lucciola had conked out. It was adorable. He watched in silence as the toddler wiggled on her bed for a few moments, her face clenched. It seemed like she was having a hard time falling asleep..He peeked over his shoulder at the slightly opened door. He knew that Michale and Rei were out doing God knows what..probably each other if he were to be honest. And he hadn't heard Stella come home yet..so he gave an awkward clear of his throat. He knew a few lullabies..but one that his mother had often sang to him when he was younger stuck with him. Finally he started to gently sing, his voice smooth and melodic, even a little bit on the deeper side. He carefully started to rock the crib, helping to lull his little tesoro to sleep.

Artur could only sigh at Aiden's words before grunting "Of course I accept.." he gently pushed Harley away, he liked the hugs but he also needed his own space. He had been living alone for so long that it was a bit harder for him to maintain any intimate contact, even with his beloved sister. "So..back to Don..what happened?" he looked between the two of them, his eyebrows furrowing together as that violent anger started to build in his stomach. "I was..I was home alone..and there was a knock at the door. It was dad.." Harley whimpered after a moment's hesitation, looking straight at the floor for a few moments before looking up to her brother to gauge his reaction. It was as he expected, full of anger and violence, he looked like he was ready to kill someone..specifically Don. "Does he still live above the bar?" her brother asked making her frown and slowly nod, "Y-yeah..I think." She watched as so many emotions passed across Artur's face before he growled "I will be back later..for dinner.." he turned on his heel and headed out.

Being careful to not step on any of the fallen twigs Pippa followed the brown flash that she had seen. She could hear what sounded like..hooves on the ground ahead of her so she tread lightly, the deer was already spooked so she didn't want to make it worse. She really wanted to see it, it had been so long since she had seen a deer..the last time she had seen one was probably when she was around..5 or 6. She had been out with her family at the park nearby and there was a deer with her fawn there. It had been quite an amazing sight to witness. And ever since, deer had been one of her favorite animals besides cockatiels of course. After a while she came to a relatively small clearing, and peering around the brush she hoped to see the deer but there wasn't one. She must have barely missed it..so she turned back. Wait..which way was back?

Mo growled when he was finally freed, taking a few steps towards his brother as he stepped back. "Yeah but..I still don't like being tickled..you know this.." his eyes slimmed playfully before he suddenly lunged at him, hellbent on taking him to the ground and putting into a lock.

The soft sound of a creaky door brought Feliciano out of his stupor at staring at his daughter, but he immediately relaxed when he realized it was Stella who came in. Giving his mate a smile, he leaned over, placing a soft peck onto her forehead before he continued to the end of his lullaby for Ilaria. His smile grew even wider as Stella placed a delicate peck on her forehead, the baby wriggling faintly before she sunk into an even deeper slumber. It was good to know that she wouldn't be waking up anytime soon and he could relax for even a short while. Once he finished the lullaby he looked to Stella and asked softly "How was work..?" keeping his voice soft as to not wake Ilaria.

Just as Artur was about to step out the door Aidens hand on his shoulder stopped him and made him glance back to the man. An almost amused smirk plastered across his face at the way he spoke to him, almost like a father telling a child what to do and what not to do. "Don't worry pops..he'll live..maybe.." he snickered out, tapping him gently on the chest with the back of his knuckles as a goodbye. He took a step back into the apartment to quickly place a peck on his sister's forehead, before tapping his forehead to hers gently "Love you.." he spoke quite softly, even Harley had a hard time hearing it before he finally took his leave out the door and out of the apartment building. Harley watched in silence as her mobster of a brother left the apartment building, and she couldn't help the slight fear that ran through her at the thought that..maybe he wouldn't come back like he said he would. But she needed to trust that he would, yet she still could feel the stress in her neck. Plopping her head on Aiden's shoulder, she whimpered "That was harder then it should have been.."

Mo growled at him, Vanessa knew full well that he hated tickling as well, and he dared her to try it..what he would do to that girl if she ever did. His wolf peeked it's head up at that thought, but he quickly pushed it away, and instead focused on trying to pin his brother's arms down onto the ground before he could be thrown off by the slightly larger lycan. "Well what does Pippa think about the fact that you're a lycan eh?" he snickered out, knowing full well that the man hadn't told his girl the truth. "Oh that's right! You haven't told her! You sly dog you! You sealed the deal before you told her huh?" he chortled at that, he knew that this would annoy Aaron but it was all in good-natured teasing.

Glancing up from where she had been setting up their brunch, Kamari made a face towards her husband, she hadn't heard the door opening nor closing behind her. "No..I didn't see her.." she peeked up towards the yard. Besides her sons wrestling on the grass, she didn't see the curly-haired girl. "I'll.."she knew that the girl probably wasn't in the house but it was better to be safe then sorry.."..check in the house.." she walked towards the glass sliding door that would take her inside, her hand sliding across Ethan's shoulder as she passed him up. Disappearing inti the house, the woman searched through each room, even the bathrooms but..Pippa wasn't there as she had expected. Sliding back out to the porch, she shook her head "She's not in there.." before turning her attention to the foliage of the nearby woods. "Pippa, Aaron, Mauricio! Come and eat!" she called out, hoping to draw the girl out of the woods, she probably just went exploring a bit, no big deal.

Pippa could feel her heart start to pound in her chest as she tried to re-orientate herself with the house but she couldn't see it. No matter which way she looked, she couldn't see it..Wait! What was that sound? She swore she heard someone call her name but..she wasn't sure from where..it sounded almost like it was to the left of her. "Aaron?" she called out quietly, afraid to raise her voice any higher..she didn't know what else was potentially in these woods..She swore she could feel eyes on her from all sides as she started in the direction that she thought she heard her name being called from, unknowingly leading her farther into the woods. A sharp snap of a twig behind her sent her into a bit of a faster walk towards, hopefully, the house. God what was behind her? Her heart started to beat faster, she was afraid..she started to scurry through the mess of foliage around her ankles.

Feliciano fell silent at the gesture, right..Ilaria was quite a light-sleeper much like himself. He followed her out of the room, leaving the door slightly ajar to let a small bit of light into the room just in case she woke, he didn't want her to wake in total darkness. Glancing back to his mate, he smiled down at her, his hands subconsciously going around her waist to pull her close. He laid a slow smooth kiss on her lips, shivering softly at the taste of her. It was quite comforting after a long day dealing with rather crazy animals with sassy attitudes.."Exhausting as you said..but I feel much better now.." he chuckled faintly, letting his forehead rest against hers. He could feel all the tension slipping from his shoulders, it had been a rather exciting day. One of their crowned eagles had just laid a clutch of eggs, and as was protocol..he had to go into the cage to check on them but that would mean first getting the eagles away from the nest..it was quite..difficult to say the least.

Sighing, Harley lifted her head to look to Aiden "Yeah Artur is a lot like me..except worse..when it comes to emotions.." she chuckled faintly at the end. She hummed faintly at the peck to her forehead, sliding easily into his embrace. His warmth felt nice against her achy bones, she could feel the fatigue shocking up her back before a small, rather weak laugh left her at the thought of Artur coming back to cause even more damage. "Cause he probably will.." she gave him a smile, giving a soft squeak as he interlocked his hands behind her, easily trapping her within his grasp. "Oi! I didn't eat them all!" she could already feel the slight flush working up her ears, rolling her eyes upwards at his accusatory tone. She was sure that there was 2 or..1 box left of his beloved pizza rolls. "I'm pretty sure that you love those things more then you do me..!" she teased back, before a sudden sharp pain along her ribs cut off her breath, she hadn't noticed but Aiden's arm was pressing deeply into her sensitive and frankly broken ribs. "Ah! Let go you idiot!" she snapped in sudden pain, wriggling to get out of his arms but instead she succeeded in further paining herself.

Mo snorted, rolling his eyes, his brother was really over thinking this whole 'coming out to Pippa thing'. But before he could get his piece in, he was shoved off by his brother, landing on his bottom with a grunt. Thankfully his mother called them in for food, because he wast sarving. Pushing himself up to his feet, he was ready to dash off to be the first one for food, when his brother spoke almost nervously. "Huh?" he asked in confusion, glancing around them for a moment, he was right..Pippa wasn't there. "No..she's not.." Kamari called back, stepping down from the porch quickly to see if she could see the girl easier in the woods. Yet, even with her heightened senses, she couldn't see the girl nor hear her, and her scent was a bit harder to differentiate from the rest of the woods since she wasn't accustomed to it. "Pippa?" she called out into the woods before falling silent to see if she could hear the girl. No answer.

Pippa's breathing grew harder as she started to run away from the sounds of...paws hitting the forest floor behind her, growing ever closer. She couldn't breath, she was so afraid.all of her nerves were on fire as she started to sprint now. She glanced to her left then her right and she..swore she caught a glimpse of brown fur through the brush running along side her.

Feliciano grinned down to her and spoke "Yeah one of our crowned eagles laid a clutch of eggs over the past few weeks and I had to go in and get them out. Thankfully all 5 of them were fertile which is incredibly lucky for us and for the parents of course. The mother wasn't too pleased that I took her kids though, she was screaming the entire ten minutes that I had them.." his grin only seemed to grow wider as he thought about the hatchlings they would have in a few months. "Not only that but one of our gorillas, Mattia has recovered from his little spill a few weeks back and he'll be back in the enclosure tomorrow," he sighed dreamily, he had been dealing with Mattia's attitude for a good while and even though he enjoyed his company, he knew the gorilla was getting a little bit of cabin fever. "What about you mio amore?" he peered down at her, knowing that he could have continued on forever.

    Jane

The girl could only stand and stare as the man paced back and forth and back and forth. He was panicking..this was bad.. But what would he do? Would he turn her in? Would he say that she forced him to take her here..? An intense guilt sunk like a rock into her gut, she shouldn't have come here. She shouldn't have ever asked for help, she should've just found her own way out of the city. Yet she didn't..because she knew she would have never made it out without any help. The rock of guilt was accompanied by a sudden boulder of uselessness. Her father had trained her..he had told her what exactly to do to get out of the city alive..yet she failed. Her arms slowly wound around herself as she drowned in this overwhelming sense of guilt and failure

That's when he suddenly stopped his pacing and looked to her, and she almost couldn't meet his gaze. Those brilliant blue eyes were full of panic and uncertainty, and she couldn't stop the bubble of guilt that made its way up her throat, threatening to strangle her. His next question caught her by surprise..were her parents actually still alive? She could recall the various occasions that her father had told her, if they did not find her within a day..that they were dead. It had been 24 hours already..so.."I..I don't think so..they..my papa told me that if they hadn't found me in 24 hours..they were dead.." those three little words choked in her throat, and a pained sob left her lips. Quickly taking a harsh inhale, she rose her hand to her eyes, rubbing the first inklings of tears away with the back of her hand. "I'm sorry..look please just tell me where to go and I'll leave you alone. I really don't want to cause anyone any more trouble..Please you've done enough.." she practically begged, and suddenly overtaken by a whim, she stepped forward, grabbing his hands from where they were gripped behind his head and holding them in both of hers. His hands were a bit cold compared to her own warm ones and they were a decent bit larger.

Soft growls fell from Harley's lips as she was led to the couch, the pain in her side almost like a radiating burn as it ran up and down from her ribs. Sitting down helped extremely, the intense pain lessening to a harsh ache in her side and she felt like she could breath again. "It's fine.." she grumbled out, letting her head fall back against the top of the sofa, her eyes clenched shut as she waited for this intense pain to go away. She glanced up when his hand touched her face, she could see the playful look in his eye as he tried to get her to smile. It really wasn't working, it hurt way too much to even consider laughing. "Aiden..stop please.." she had to hold herself back from snapping at him. SHe knew he was just trying to be nice to her and try to get her a smile, but it wasn't going to work. "Just..can you get me that medicine..? The one that the doctor gave you..?" she waved her hand absently in the air towards their room, her eyebrows furrowed as the pain ached into her bones and dug itself into her skin like a thorn.

"Aaron!" Kamari called after her son, about to lunge forward after him before she turned "Cover the food will you? This may take a bit.." to her husband before she jumped the few steps off the porch, shifting mid-jump into the silvery white wolf that she was. Swiftly followed by Mo, who turned into a rather dark brown almost black wolf, they charged after Aaron.

A sudden weight slammed against Pippa's side, a cry leaving her lips as she was sent flying into a tiny clearing of the trees, sliding a few feet on the leaf-covered forest floor. An ache ran straight up her back and her side, her eyes grimaced shut as she prepared for..whatever was to come next..her heart was practically flying in her chest as she panicked. Her hair fluttered as a hot breath warmed her chest, a sob ripping past her lips as she gripped the floor in fear. She took a peek up to what was on top of her, and her heart stopped. It..was a giant grey wolf. It was a wolf but..it was almost 3 times the size of the ones she had seen at the zoo and it was growling at her. Harsh breaths passed her lips as she attempted to scuttle backwards desperately, but a sudden pressure slammed onto her chest. A vicious snarl tore from its lips, its gigantic fangs exposed down at her..it could easily take her head off with a single bite, its razor sharp nails pressing into her delicate skin. Was she going to die? Was this the end for her? A scream passed her lips before she could stop it, tears starting to stream from her face as she prepared for the pain that would end her. Her heart was fluttering desperately, trying to break free of her ribs like a bird in a cage.

Feliciano frowned at the shrug, of course it was normal for her to shrug but something about this one felt different. He couldn't place what he was feeling, but he didn't like it..not one bit. When she mentioned her co-workers wanting to go out for drinks, his nerves peaked, before they relaxed at the knowledge that she declined. This was one thing that he really liked about Stella, she wasn't much of a drinker. It made keeping an eye on her much easier, and he didn't have to worry about any men-his wolf growled- trying to take advantage of her. "Really? Who wanted to go..?" he asked curiously, tilting his head the slightest bit as his hands slowly took a slight grip on her hips.

Harley gratefully reached for the glass and the pill, tossing it into her mouth before downing it with a long draft of water...She hadn't realized how thirsty she had been. "It's fine..just sit down Aiden.." she reached for him, grabbing his wrist and yanking him down to sit besides her. Taking a deep breath, she let her head drift back trying to focus on calming down the aching pain in her sides. It felt like she couldn't breath, her ribs aching with every time she took a smooth inhale in..well not so smooth considering the pain. "Jesus Christ..my father really did a number on me.." she muttered snidely, her eyes squeezing shut tightly as she tried to not visualize the way her father had looked at her as he hit her repeatedly..it felt like it would never end at the time..but it did. Because of Aiden, he stopped because Aiden stopped him. And she could never tell him just how grateful he was for that..and not only that but the fact that..he was still around even if he had to deal with all this crazy...nonsense that was her brother..her father..and sometimes even her. Realizing that she had her eyes closed for a while, she peeked through her eyelashes at him, giving him the sweetest smile she could muster given the current pain in her side. "Thank you.." she whispered nervously.

A high-pitched gasp left her lips as the sudden pressure was gone, ripped away from her chest by..another..giant gray wolf, god she felt like she was going to pass out. Rather fervently, she scuttled away from the snapping and biting fit, until her back finally hit the base of a tree. She was so confused..had..had these wolves been here this entire time? Were they escaped subjects from some sort of underground illegal animal experimentation? What the hell were they- and oh dear god there were more of them! Two other wolves broke from the forest, one a shiny white and the other almost it's exact opposite, a dark brown almost black wolf.

Aaron! Kamari shouted, starting to dance around the wrestling wolves as did Mo, who was attempting to enter the fight to get it split up. Aaron! Calm down! she looked over to Pippa who was completely squeezed against the tree Pippa's fine! Aaron! she snarled, finally lunging into the mix, grabbing the other gray wolf by the scruff, dragging him away from Aaron using both her grip and pushing her body in the way as he snarled and wriggled violently, while Mo jumped in front of Aaron, batting him back and away from the others. Enough! she snapped, tossing the wolf away from her, who was panting and small splatters of blood littered his side and face. What the hell was that Greg! You know we don't attack humans! What were you thinking you dingus?! she roared, baring her fangs at the larger male. It's not my fault! How was I supposed to know that you guys were going to bring in some random human! It's not like you guys talk to us anymore! her brother snapped back, plopping his behind on the forest floor and started to busy himself with licking his fore paw where there was a long scratch that was starting to bleed.

Pippa could only stare as the fight was stopped..and it looked like..they were talking to each other? No..that's impossible..they couldn't be.

Feliciano gave a faint growl at the way she ruefully smiled up at him, his face pulling into a deep scowl as he grumbled "Yeah..well..they don't know that.." he looked away from her, even as she rubbed her nose against his, which managed to lighten his scowl just a bit. He sighed weakly, plopping his grumpy head onto her shoulder and taking a deep inhale of her scent. It was so soothing to him..but..there was something else. Some other scent on her..could it be from dealing with old paint all day..? Or was it someone else..? His skin prickled at the thought but he didn't say a thing about it, and instead brought her closer to him as he muttered "I missed you.."

    Jane

The conflict in his eyes was easy to see, and her own likely matched it. She had no right to ask this much of a total stranger, she should be ashamed for causing him this much pain. He likely had enough to deal with without her adding her own to his. God she was horrible..she dared a peek up at him, and her heart stalled when her hazels found his blues. A tight fist gripped her throat at the sight of..so much grief within his orbs..who had done him wrong? Maybe a girl broke his heart...? Or rather from what she had heard from her father, society had done the Discs wrong. Every single one of them was treated as if they were nothing..because in the society's eyes..they were. They were what they called, discarded. That's when his hands tightened slightly around her own, and she blinked quickly, dragging herself out of the well of sadness that she found pouring from his eyes. His next words brought a slow smile to her face, he would help her.

He backed away, and unlocked the door, and the sound of the lock clicking away from the door sent a hard thump through her chest. When he approached her, mentioning that he could potentially get her parents out once they had gotten her out. "No..no it's fine..they..they told me not to raise my hopes for them.." she whispered weakly, giving a polite shake of her head. No matter how much it hurt her, she knew there was no point in risking her escape for the brief glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe her parents were still alive. She turned away, feeling her eyes start to prickle with tears at the idea of them..the only world she had ever known..dead, slain because of what she was. She bit into the back of her knuckle for a moment, her eyes squeezing shut as she tried, tried so hard not to visualize it. She didn't want anyone to die for her..

That's when a light bulb came alight in her head, her hand dropping from her mouth as she slowly turned around to Adam. "Adam..I..I don't want anyone else to die for me..would-" she stopped..she couldn't find the right words. "Come with me..come with me to whatever world there is outside of here..You-" she shouldn't say this but she did "You do not belong here..you have this light about you..that doesn't belong in a world like this...Will you join me on the outside?" she took two quick paces towards him, grabbing his hand in both of her own yet again. And as soon as she made contact with his hand, her body was alight with a new feeling..a feeling that she couldn't describe but it warmed her body and soul. She knows that she had only known him for a few hours at most..but she felt like this was supposed to happen. As he helped her, she was supposed to help him escape from what seemed to be an oppressive life..into one where he could be free.

A faint shiver ran up Harley's spine at the slightly ticklish feeling of Aiden's hand playing with a loose strand of her hair, letting her head roll back after a faint ache ran through her neck. His bicep was there luckily to act as a pillow for her slightly throbbing head, and she mumbled "Still considering it.." when he thanked her about not biting his head off. Another shiver ran up her skin at the slight tease to the tip of her ear, she gave him a peek out of the corner her eye, almost like a warning. It felt nice of course, but a bit too nice, it was making her relax and then tense almost at the same time. She gave a soft huff, grumbling "Aiden..you're gonna need to stop that..I can feel it in my shoulders.." a small smirk pulled at her lips but she didn't do much else..she was enjoying it.

A snarl left Greg's lips at the threat, his tail lashing as he took a fast step forward, only to be blocked by Kamari. How was I supposed to know! She smelled like a wolf, more specifically you numb-nuts! he snapped back, plopping back down onto his hind legs. He could smell the fear and confusion radiating off the girl they were talking about, and he snorted I wouldn't have killed her..if anything, I would have taken her to you guys..she just kept running away he couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. He knew how imposing their size is, because the largest of their pack was around the size of a horse..and that would happen to be him. He sat up a bit taller at his own pat on the back, licking his forepaw as he went.

What in the actual heckle was going on..Pippa had no clue, she tried to make herself smaller against the tree as the wolves..Were they talking to one another? It sure looked like it..but that was impossible..animals don't talk. Or do they? A harsh gasp left her lips when one of them looked at her, and her heart started to pump in her chest as her fists grabbed at the forest floor trying to desperately make herself disappear. Heck giant wolves in the forest, maybe she could actually make herself disappear..

Feliciano gave a gentle grunt at the peck, his head sinking deeper into her shoulder as he tried to drown away the sudden anxiety that peaked in his stomach. Was..was she seeing someone behind his back? No. No she wouldn't dare..she loved him. Hell she reminded him of it everyday..but..they had been growing more distant with the birth of Ilaria..so..maybe. A growl worked its way up his throat, he should make more time for her as well. Maybe right now would work. Raising his hands, the wolf grabbed onto her forearms and suddenly pushed her against the wall. "It may be a bit cliche to say but..it hurts to have you away from me.." he growled faintly into her ear, leaning in close to lay a smooth kiss behind it.

Harley gave a huff at his tone, a playful glare working its way up to her eyes as she muttered "Yeah shut up.." her eyebrows scrunching at the peck, but she didn't offer much other resistance. Instead she only scuttled closer, before she finally plopped fully across his lap, the center of her back taking up most of the space with her head on the other side of his legs. "Thank you.." she groaned faintly, letting her eyes slide shut. This was nice, it was sending a nice aching stretch up her spine which was in dire need of it. "Wonder what Artur is doing to him.." she suddenly muttered before she could really process what she was saying. Her father deserved it..but sometimes it still kinda made her hurt on the inside at the thought of him in harm's way. He was abusive beyond hell but..she was still her dad..how was she just supposed to turn a blind eye to him like Artur had? She found it in herself that she really couldn't.

Greg gave an aggravated snort in response to that before muttering Yeah yeah.. before he, Mo, and Kamari slowly paced away back towards the house.

Pippa's breathing hitched at the sudden proximity of the wolf, before..it laid down..much like a dog would. It's intense grey eyes were on her, its ears perked forward as it focused on her. She couldn't move..it felt like its gaze was locking in her place. "What.." she dared to speak "What do you want from me..?" she whimpered out weakly, her body shaking faintly as she pulled her knees closer to her chest..trying to make herself as small as possible.

"Quite painful.." he snarled out, the way her eyes were glazing over told him that he was saying the right things to set her off. He could feel a heat growing up his back as he pressed closer to her, his breathing growing slightly harsh as he laid slow peck after peck against her neck, down towards her collarbone. Letting go of one of her forearms, he let his hand venture down to her hips, pulling her close to him. "One could say that..its too much to bear alone..and maybe I should share it.." he pressed closer to her, feeling his breath speed up at having her in his face. Placing a kiss to her lips, he gave a shaky growl, his fingers digging faintly into her hip.

Harley could probably fall asleep right then and there..and to be honest..she kinda was. Her eyes were growing heavier and heavier the more he slowly dragged his fingers through her hair, lulling her into a slight doze with the help of that drug she took. "Artur knows how to take care of himself.." she mumbled weakly, she understood where Aiden was coming from because often she too worried about her brother. Yet practically every single time, he managed to get away scot free. It was unbelievable how he did it, because in all her years knowing him..she never managed to crack it. Aiden's frustration was well founded and if she had walked in on someone beating him..or worse their baby..They better say goodbye to their existence, she grumbled faintly at the thought, her hands coming up to rest on her lower stomach where her baby was safe, free from this hellish being that was her father. "I'm feeling alright.." she mumbled weakly in response, giving a low sigh as she peeked open her eyes to see that Aiden had leaned his head back as well. "Have I ever told you about the time that Artur made a guy disappear..?" she asked suddenly, raising a sharp eyebrow.

Pippa would have melted into the tree if she could but sadly she wasn't a nymph..or was she? Heck she didn't know, she had just found out there were giant wolves in the forest, so what the heck did she know? It was getting closer, it crawled towards her, before its slightly wet nose pressed against her prosthetic leg, she could feel something coming up in her throat. What did it want? That's when it stood up and paced around in a few circles..it looked like it was trying to decide on something. But what? That's when it sat and..started to change. She could only stare as it slowly, smoothly transformed back into. "Aaron..?" she squeaked out, her eyes going wide at the man before him. No..No way. This was some sort of joke..this was definitely a dream. "What the F*CK!" she cried out scrambling to her feet, she couldn't comprehend this. What the hell is this! Her boyfriend was..was..she didn't even know what to call him anymore. Her cheeks burned when she realized she cursed "I-I'm sorry..I just..please explain..Now." she gave him a desperate, confused look.

"There was this guy that I was dating a few years back..I was probably..around 17, 18..this is right before Artur left us.." she sighed, trying to remember exactly what happened then, it had been a rough time for her. "He..was a dick..like a total jackass..but I for some reason liked that in a man.." she knew what Aiden would say, probably chuckle and say you're such a weirdo or somethin but she didn't stop. "He..started to get really..domineering and controlling. He wouldn't let me go with my friends but if I were him, I wouldn't either because those b*tches were bat sh*t crazy..." she laughed lightly at the memory of Audrey..god she didn't know what happened to that girl. Probably died from an overdose or something. "And one day..we were arguing at my house..and..he hit me. My dad was piss drunk so he didn't care but-" she took a sharp inhale as she remembered the way her brother had looked when he saw, it terrified her.

Pippa didn't know what to say to him, she just stared for a few moments as he explained how in the hell he managed to change to a wolf. "I-I see..I uhm.." she honestly couldn't help but feel just a tad hurt from him not telling her what he was.. She wouldn't have cared!..Or would she have..? Ah that didn't matter now, the real issue is that he lied to her. He didn't tell her what he was..but..then again. He wasn't sure how she would react, and..with the way she was reacting now. God! How could she be so rude!

Taking a moment to recollect herself, she fell to her knees in front of him, gathering his hands slowly in hers. She could see how her hands trembled, and she willed them to stop but they wouldn't..was she really afraid of him? How stupid is that..She took a few hard breaths before mumbling "You're not a liar..so of course I would have believed you Aaron..and trust me..I-I understand why you didn't tell me.." she gave him a sweet smile, squeezing his fingers to try and comfort the almost nervous-looking ma- lycan.

"Seems like trouble has the easiest time finding me.."

Nariah was born..different to say the lease. Her family was of Israeli descent, coming over to USA when her mother was pregnant with her. When she was born, she at first was a normal child, attending school and whatever..yet one day during one of her tantrums, she simply shouted "Stop!" and..everyone stopped for a few moments before they continued moving. A powerful headache quickly followed, almost to the point where she was throwing up. Her parents discovered that she had a gift. A gift for mind control, and they started to use it.

Each time they pushed her to use it more, use it for longer periods of time..the longer her headaches lasted. It took a while for them to finally dissipate to nothing but it still hurt depending on how much she used it. She grew to hate them, and soon her friends knew of her powers, and they began to ask her for favors, whether it be, to control the teacher long enough for them to cheat or to make the boy of their dreams want them..it didn't matter, they demanded it of her. As news spread around her school of the 'pale magician', she began to get dragged into the wrong crowd..and with the wrong crowd came lots of falls and people taking advantage of her.

One day, she was returning home..and her parents were being arrested for 'harboring a powered being without acknowledgment of the government'. She had luckily been out of sight, and..she hasn't returned since..

Harley sighed faintly at the sound that escaped Aiden's lips, she sought the comfort it offered, and his nuzzling only added to it. Taking a deep inhale, she couldn't resist a faint chuckle at the reference to what, hopefully many people, were taught as children. "Well..apparently that lesson went in one ear then right out the other since that guy..wasn't too smart. Comparable to a post really.." she tried to grin gently, she could hear his growl rather clearly from where he rested on her shoulder. "Easy there tiger.." she teased, reaching up to stroke the back of his head softly.

"And yeah..just a few hours later, Artur came back alone..with this..almost dead look in his eyes.." she couldn't continue, the way his eyes looked when he came back. She could remember them to this day..she had never before seen that look in her twin's eyes, and it scared her. At the time, she didn't even recognize who he was. She never wanted to see that look in his eyes again, but she feared now that he'd be around more often, she'd see it more often. She dreaded it with a passion. A new thought came to her, her baby would have to see that look..and it terrified her as a grown ass woman..how would it affect a toddler? Her gut tensed, she didn't like that thought, not at all. She took a slow breath to try and calm herself before muttering "Any...any ideas for a name?" she was trying to get her mind off that revolting though. She swore she could probably throw up at any second..wait actually

A sudden wave of nausea hit her, as a horrible aftertaste of the bagel bites rose in her throat. "Oh god-!" she groaned, launching herself off the couch and rushing to the toilet just as her stomach clenched, and she..well..she got sick. Thankfully into the toilet so that Aiden wouldn't have to deal with it.

A sting of pain ran through her stomach...okay..that hurt. Pippa looked away, she would have believed him if he had said it..He wasn't a liar..to be honest..she didn't believe he was even capable of lying to her. Yet he did. The harsh whisper from her subconscious made her flinch, but he had been doing it for the best of his family and she understood that. She would have likely done the same if it were her own family. When his voice began to waver with emotion, she looked up quickly..tears were in his eyes. No no no she didn't want him to cry. No no! Her hands quickly flew to his cheeks, wiping away the buds that threatened to fall with quick thumbs. His smooth, warm words made her hands stop..Her heart ached, he trusted her so much..and she did the same to him. "I love you too..please..don't cry.." she whimpered out weakly, pushing her embarrassment away for a moment to place fast pecks all over his eyes and face, trying to make sure he didn't cry. She hated when people cried..it always made her feel like..she had done enough to make sure they were happy.

Where did she go wrong..? How in the hell did she end up in this mess? Well it all started when she was born- but that would be too painful to think about, so she wouldn't..But what else was she supposed to do? This jail cell and it's inhabitants offered no stimulus, all of them too worried or..weird-looking- like that horned guy in the corner twitching for some odd reason- to be much entertainment. Each of them were buzzing with energy, their minds flaring almost frantically in search of..anything really. A way out of this death trap.

That idea shot through her gut like a bullet, was she going to die here? No, no Gambit wouldn't allow it.. Though they had been together for only 2 years..and of course, they argued..a lot. She was going through what Gambit described as "a stupid phase of pity for those who don't deserve it..!" How was not wanting to kill someone who likely was being controlled by a bad guy a 'stupid phase'. God he was such a prick sometimes but..he was all he had, he had been the only one to stick around long enough for her to grow to like. He was her mentor, her rock, and he was going to come for her!

But as her pale arms wrapped slowly around her white jumpsuit-clad body, she couldn't stop that dreadful feeling from sinking into her gut. She didn't want to die here. She was only 23 for gods sake..and here she was..imprisoned for..well, that was complicated. The stinging of the cuts and the aching of the bruises came alight once again as she thought of it. They had taken an agreement to protect a client who was being chased by the Penguin and Two-Face, and despite the danger he had been in.

Not once did she see the red-cape or the bat fly through the sky to protect him. Not once. Those bigoted sons of-! A shard of concrete plopped against her head, making her quickly glance up. "Can't even keep the place together?..As*holes..!" she hissed quietly to herself, not loud enough to draw attention, but enough that she could get her voice out. Trying to calm herself again, the woman pushed that white, dense blanket of hair from her shoulders, gathering it in a loose ponytail at the base of her neck..It was going to be a long day, she had only been here for maybe a day..and these too bright lights were already starting to give her a migraine.

A shout rang out through the holding cell, she spared a glance upwards. What was it now? Before a sudden tremor shot through the entire prison, threatening to cascade them into the ocean surrounding them, it sent her tumbling to her feet. The guards dressed in black all ran from their posts in front of the large metal bars, rushing off towards..was that the sound of the ocean? Alright, kid I need some help.. the deep voice from within her mind, sent a shock through her system, a bright smile breaking past her cold pale lips. Gambit! Taking a hard breath, she focused her mind, closing her eyes as she projected the halls she had seen on her way to this holding cell (whose inhabitants were now shouting..that didn't help) to her partner, of course he would need her help. Last time she checked, he had never been caught..and she wasn't about to let him get caught because of her.

Opening her eyes in a flash, just as a guard passed by the bars, her mind lunged to his.

It was almost like a tugging from deep within her spine as the guard offered weak resistance before it finally gave in and she had control of him. He should have some keys somewhere, and just at this thought, the man clad in black tore a pair of keys from his pocket, opening the door quickly, she charged out. It was almost like a pressure on her mind was alleviated as she dropped the man's mind, the sudden rush of his own consciousness returning to him promptly knocked him out. He collapsed. As if I'd let him have all the fun! she snorted out, she knew he could hear her thoughts vaguely but she didn't care.

Harley hated this feeling, the upheavals practically tossing her head into the toilet as she puked up all that she had for breakfast. She wouldn't be able to eat bagel bites for a while..her eyes were crossing slightly as she heaved up the last of it just as the damp towel touched her forehead..That felt nice, while this did not..Giving a low whine, she plopped onto her bottom, her legs skewed awkwardly beneath her as she muttered "God my breath stinks now.." her eyes closed shut..she felt clammy, her skin a slightly flushed pale now.

She couldn't resist the smallest smile that popped up onto her face at Aiden's response. Of course he didn't have any in mind..that's just kinda how he was. "I like Samuel...something about it just sounds nice" she mumbled faintly, the name had always stuck with her..ever since she went through that 'mommy' phase as a child. "But that's for a boy..for a girl.." to be honest she didn't want a girl "maybe..Sadie.." Girls were honestly too much to deal with..and she would know, since she was one.

Was he trying to break her heart? Because it was working..she could feel a sharp pain run through her..and she almost started crying. She couldn't imagine her life without him. "I can't do that Aaron..I can't.. You've changed my life..and it would be incomplete without you.." she shook her head vigorously as she impulsively pulled him into a tight hug against her frame. She shivered at his sudden warmth compared to the slight chill of the air around them, she wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him closer. "Don't say stuff like that..I'm here for you..thick and thin. And if you-" she paused at his word choice, she replaced it with her own "screw up..I want to be here to help you out of it..okay? You are my world entire.." she mumbled into the crook of his neck.

Harley gave him a grunt of thanks as she took the toothbrush, slathering a slob of toothpaste on the bristles as she stood in front of the sink. Splashing some water on the toothpaste, she started to brush, giving a faint groan at the minty taste that filled her mouth. She made sure to scrape her tongue well just to get that gross aftertaste from her mouth. Spitting out the foam in her mouth, she mumbled "Don't go getting all sappy on me now. I'd rather it be a boy because girls are such a pain in the ass.." she gave a snort as she scraped her tongue for another second before rinsing with water. "And if she's anything like me..it'll be even worse..god knows the troublemaker I was.." she wiped her face with a cloth, drying her toothbrush as well before replacing it in the cabinet. "Yeah I know that's why I picked it.." she teased after he mentioned the name Sadie being cute, was she supposed to pick an ugly name like Helga or something??

Pippa let out a soft breath as he relaxed against her, pressing that calming peck to her forehead "Good.." she muttered in response to the way his head slowly rested atop of hers. She whimpered ever so softly, feeling her heart ache gently at the gentle rhumble she heard from his chest just to comfort her. He was always making sure that those around him were okay...maybe that's why they were so close because they were so alike..A faint smile made it to her face at the signs of affection, before she mumbled "Of course you ARE-!" she squeaked when he suddenly lifted her up into his arms. Her arms reflexively went around his neck as she was lifted upwards, making a face as her cheeks turned a bright flush. When he mentioned speaking to his uncle, she couldn't help but shake her head "No..you don't have to..I..I sorta understand..? I mean, I understand why he thought he needed to attack me.." she muttered, even though to be honest, she was quite freaked out about the whole event still.

Kamari gave a grumble to herself as she basically pushed Greg ahead of her towards the house. "Every single damn time huh Greg? You had to be an ass to our guest!" she growled out in frustration, even as her uncle rolled his eyes at her exasperation. "What can I say? Your boy always brings around the delicate ones..!" he snorted out, which earned him a sudden kick in the backside, yelping as the sudden pressure sent him sprawling to the grassy lawn. "Don't you dare speak a word against my boy Greg! You know better than that!" she snarled down at him, not stopping in her stomping towards the house, basically storming past her husband and Vanessa without as much as a word. "Great now you made her mad..!" Mauricio whined out to the man as he dusted himself off.
