Birchwhisker heard a yowl. "Stay here, Emberkit. I'll be back soon" She ran towards the noise and found a kit. "Why is there so many kits here?" She whispered to herself. Birchwhisker nudged the kit. Not moving? I should bring him to the camp...maybe some other cats could help. She thought. She then picked up the kit by his scruff. "Stay with me kit!" Birchwhisker said and dashed off to the camp. She jumped over a log and landed in a thorn bush. Birchwhisker murmured to herself and ripped part of her fur out. She cursed under her breath while protecting the kit. "Its getting dark.. I can't tell where we are..Im sorry kit.." She spotted a hole in the ground, big enough for both of them. Birchwhisker stumbled down the hole and licked the kit until she fell asleep.

"Right. We need to get you to shelter" Birchwhisker considered. "Why is she here? Shouldn't you be with your mother?" She sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws.
-
The next morning, Birchwhisker woke up and looked around. She licked the kit awake. "Who are you kit? And why were you there, alone?" Birchwhisker asked. She was confused.
-
Returning from hunting patrol, Birchwhisker padded in the camp with a mouse. "Did something happen?" She questioned.
-
"Hm.." Birchwhisker felt sorry for the kit. "Well whoever your parents are, they are irresponsible." She looked down at the kit. "I need to get you to proper shelter. Since its morning, I think I would be able to find camp..." She then got up steadily. "Come on, let's find prey" She got out of the hole and smelt the wind. "I can smell some squirrels"
-
"Never tasted a squirrel? Hah! Once you taste one of these guys, you'll want to hunt forever!" Birchwhisker licked her nose. Now stay here, I'll fetch a squirrel. She ran towards a tree and climbed up it. The kit could see her grabbing onto the branches. Birchwhisker disappeared into the leaves of the tree. She came back after a few minutes and jumped back onto the ground. "Here!" Birchwhisker muffled in between the squirrel. "Have a taste!" She put the squirrel in front of the kit and sat down.

"I thought you were struggling..and I was on patrol, but if you really wanted this..." Birchwhisker wrinkled her nose and put down the bird. "There." She picked up her mouse and padded off.

(Im just gonna create some new characters)
It was almost sunset when they arrived. "I would like to hold a few apprentice ceremonies" BurnStar announced. "These kits have deserved the warrior name, and they proved so during their apprentice training. Bramblestripe, Fernclaw and Hawkfeather - step up" The three warriors stepped up, glee in their eyes. "I now announce you warriors". There was a huge bustle of cats calling the new warriors by their name. "Im gonna congratulate Fernclaw, we trained together" Birchwhisker said and walked off to Fernclaw.
-
"Hey guys!" Birchwhisker smiled. She came with a thin mouse. "You wanna share?"
-
Birchwhisker padded up to Vasilisk. "Hey there!" She sat down next to her. "Im kinda full... want the rest?" Birchwhisker pushed the half-eaten mouse to her.
-
"...Yeah! Lightbeam, Fallensoul, Flamefoot and I just went on a patrol!" Birchwhisker said happily.
"Really? I heard about you and Flamefoot" Fernclaw said. She walked around Birchwhisker. "Is that true? You guys are.. you know?" she asked. "What! Why would I even..." Birchwhisker blushed. "Well, I guess we are friends... or something" "Just friends? Are you sure? Come on! Lets go talk to him!" Fernclaw batted her and pushed Birchwhisker towards Flamefoot. "Hey Flamefoot!" Fernclaw said. "Someone wants to say something..." She then nudged Birchwhisker. -
Birchwhisker then lowered her head and finished the rest. "It's good, isn't it? I remember when I first hunted my first mouse" she licked her nose. "Yum! Come on, lets head back to camp" Birchwhisker got up and walked towards what looked like an opening space.
-
"Well..." Birchwhisker started off. "I..I think we should go hunting together? Yeah! Just the two of us...." She looked into Flamefoot's eyes while Fernclaw smiled widely. Birchwhisker walked up to him and licked his ear. "If you would please..Fernclaw" "Oh yes!" Fernclaw winked and ran off. The two of them stood, twining their tails together in the sunlight. "I've had...certain feelings about you.." Birchwhisker's eyes sparkled.
-
"Emberkit?" Birchwhisker stopped. "What do you know about about Emberkit?"
-
Birchwhisker walked up to the tree and jumped on the branches above. She looked below to the other cats.
-
"You were with him? I didn't see you.." She looked up to the sky. "Sorry..." Birchwhisker then pulled the kit up her back. "Come on"
It was sundown, when they finally arrived back to the camp.
"Emberkit! You're friend is here" she looked around when Emberkit walked up to Birchwhisker.
-
They hunted the rest of the day, sharing moments and laughing.
"I've never felt so happy" Birchwhisker admitted. "I wish this moment could last forever" She walked closer to him and licked his nose.
-
"Hey, Moonrun!" Birchwhisker said as she padded up to her. "Did they start already?" she asked. Birchwhisker then laid down and nibbled on her prey.
-
"I still can't believe you kits know how to hunt like true warriors!" Birchwhisker beamed. She could see it already - the three kits born to be legendary warriors. She shook the thought away and padded up to Emberkit and Hazelkit, who were enjoying the mouse. "Do you know what this kit's name is?" She asked and nudged the kit who was sitting in the warm sun.
-
"True..." Birchwhisker said. "Maybe we should ask the kit, he could also tell us more about what happened to him" She padded up to the kit in the nursery. "Hey little guy!" Birchwhisker welcomed warmly. "Do you mind telling me where you're from? And maybe why you were there?"
