⊱Territory
Grove
The grove is a small oak forest. The trees are spaced nicely, jumping distance from one another. Very few bushes and thickets grow. Many of the trees are younger, ~30 years of age. The grove is good for hunting squirrels and birds.
Land Marks
Whisper Clearing is a small break from the grove, close to the heart of the grove. No matter what, the winds always seem to be blowing through it. Some cats claim that the wind makes the grass whisper, and even less are able to understand these whispers. This is considered a sacred place, and nothing is to be killed here.
Stone Heart is a large, smooth rock at the very center of the forest. It is surrounded by many soft grasses and moss. The Life Tree grows right next to it, where all the cats sleep. The life tree has many low hanging branches where lower ranks sleep. The higher ranks sleep on the tallest branches. Sick, injured, or pregnant cats sleep around the base of the tree, inside nooks made by the roots.
Smallfish Creek is a very shallow creek, though it rises considerably during the spring time. It winds past the grove, and only enters the thicker parts of the grove at a few select spots.
Fields
The fields surround the grove. They are filled with tall, thick growing grass that makes it difficult to navigate. Because of this, cats don't often venture out into the fields. Rabbits are common here.
Landmarks
Stone Place is a flat area of stone, connected to an old Dirt Path. The dirt path is wide enough for monsters to run on, but they rarely do. The stone place is good for sunning, though snakes are found their.
Paw Dip is a dried up pond. Almost all evidence that water used to fill it are gone. During the spring floods, it tends to fill up, only to drain again once the melt is over.
⊱Ranks
Silence(1/3)- Considered the most respected, Silences are cats that can hear and understand the whispers. They are only allowed to speak if they must share some of what they had heard. If they speak any other time, they are to be killed or exiled.
All-Guard(1/1)- A sort of leader, the cat that is responsible for directing and controlling the cats. They are also the ones to put other's lives above their own, and would give their life in place of another's.
Bane(1/4)- The punisher, this cat decides what punishment to give to the wicked. They see no shades of gray, so a cat that did the wrong thing for the right reason may be punished, but a cat who did the right thing for the wrong reason would not be. Due to this, these cats are sometimes considered unjust.
Feral(2/20)- The fighters and hunters. Like blind soldiers, they do whatever the All-Guard tells them to do without question. Questions are heavily discouraged, even punished, from the time these cats are kits to the day they die. It is rare to see a Feral act on their own.
Sire & Dam( /8)- Cats selected by the All-Guard and the Silences, four males and four females that are suitable for having kits. These are the only cats allowed to bear young, otherwise it is punishable by death of the mother, father, and the kits.
Kits( /5) Cats still on their mother's milk. Once they are on solid foods, their rank and true name are chosen by the Silences and All-Guard

⊱Religion and Culture
Life is rather harsh, and commands are strict. Many cats look to whatever is going on around them to find what sort of behaviour is acceptable and what isn't. So, when interacting with another group of cats, they parrot behaviours and terms, sometimes to the point of simply repeating everything said to them. Many of the cats have little to no imagination. Everything is rather shoot first and never question. A large goal of these cats is to spread as far as they can go and turn every cat they can find into a Feral.
The cats believe in three deities: Ava, Res, and Furvus.
Ava is often believed to be a stone gray cat, fierce as a storm and swift as a jay. She has the ability to appear as a bird. Ava is believed to represent life and free will. Alternatively, she is called Vita, which erases the freedom part of her name, making her only represent life.
Res is a cat that is made up of negative space. He is made of pure light, though his eyes, mouth and ears bleed shadows. By far the most powerful deity, though he very little uses these powers. His power seems to be like untapped oil, there but dormant. Res is very rarely called Nullos, and when he is, it is out of disrespect.
Furvus is often described as very pale gray or white. She is rather feminine, though her meaning is harsh. She brings famine, sickness, and storms. Death trails her wherever she goes, and her very being is colder than the surrounding area. Furvus tends to only appear in dire times because of this, to pass on a message.
Names are important to these cats, the represent what the cat was born to do. Kits a given a temporary name. This is a name that is meant to remain secret, one that only family members and close friends know. When the kit gets old enough, he or she is suppose to face the All-Guard to get their true name. This name is suppose to show their true purpose, and they are expected to live up to whatever their name implies. So if a name is like "Stone-Guard", that particular cat is expected to guard the Stone Heart. Not all cats have a two part name, though two parts is the most common.
