Your tired. So tired. Feet drag against stone, head hanging low. The cold caresses every part of you, but you don't shiver. You haven't shivered in a long time. The cool, smooth rock seems like a promising place to lay down and take a short nap, only for a little while. Only until the sun came up. Was the sun up? Your head doesn't seem to want to rise to check, and it takes you a few moments to realize you stopped walking, instead on your side, embracing the no-warmer-than-the-air path. Where did the path lead? Where we're you going? Your mind feels fuzzy, unable to think past how uncomfortable the freezing air feels, and how your eyes just want to slip closed and succumb to darkness.

You stay like that for an extended amount of time, unable to see past the fog in your vision. Each blink you take to clear that fog away is a challenge. Everytime your eyes close, they threaten to never open again. The amount of effort you take to clear your mind is none at all, yet at the same time you struggle to remember. For all you can recall at the moment, your entire life was walking down this path to nothing, or were you even walking? Have you always been laying on your side on this stone path?

When something soft ghosts past your fur, something warm, it brings life as well. Your eyes seem to try harder to clear up, and your legs flail to make you stand. Whatever or whoeverso brushed past you is gone by the time you can stand up and see clearly, but you are renewed with hope and filled with a primitive desire to run and find the warmth again. Though your legs deny that wish, instead, you drag your feet forward again, and remember that this was something you have done before. You remember the same taunting touches of heat against your fur, and remember fleeting figures running away.

When you see it, you remember what you were doing instantly. The citadel, tall and proud, shining over a grey background. Designed with tall arcs and smooth rock, similar to that of the path you walk. Your feet struggle to change from a weak drag to a slow walk as it becomes nearer. Now closer, you can tell that the surrounding forest is trying to take over. Vines and ivy curl around it and weeds find a home in every crack. You are filled with dread as your feet try and slow down, and you can feel your body shutting down again. You're so close, yet you feel to stiff to move. Aching feet force themselves to a faster walk as you climb broken stairs to a regal door way, the door fallen off and long gone.

Inside is just a little warmer than out, though when you see the figure standing there, you know that was the same as the one who reminded you that cold was not the only thing. Plush, brown fur dusts her body, and she holds a certain arrogant air about her. Perhaps the way she holds her head, or the look on her face.

"I thought you would die like the most do." Her voice holds a strange accent that you cannot place. "Another body for the prisoners to clean up would be good for them, but its such a hassle to sort those kinds of things and- Oh, I am sorry, I can tell you are cold! Come in, and welcome to the Citadel."

HP Ranks

High Council 3/3 -Three cats that make important decisions in the group. Their word is final, though what they decide is heavily based off of what the counsel presents to them. If someone from the High council dies, they will be replaced by a cat from the council. Who gets picked for this can be decided through various ways, including fighting, voting, or family ties and friendships.

The Council 3/5 -A sort of Deputy for the high council, cats must be born into it. They must be related to a cat of the council to get in, and even then it is unlikely. Runts and anyone who has prominent disabilities will not be allowed in. Any cosmetic flaws that do not hinder a cat makes them less likely to be accepted, but it is still possible. Most of the time the council is made up of older, first litter kits. It is the existing members of the council that decide who gets in out of the pool of cats acceptable.

High Healers 3/4 -Only the best for the councils! High healers are those who have shown outstanding healing and have been a healer for over 20 moons. They get the freshest herbs to work with, and only they are allowed to heal the high council and the council. Most of the time their mate is picked out for them by the high council, and it is mainly another cat with healing skills.

Healers 1/10 -A cat who knows how to heal the sick and store herbs. Normally after herbs are picked they go to High healers first, then whatever is left over is passed down to healers. When an unknown herb is found, most of the time it is healers who find out what it does by testing it on the unwanted and prisoners. Healers are not allowed to have mates unless if a High council cat picks on for him/her. The cat picked will always be a High healer.

The Distinguished 4/any -A cat closely related to a living high rank. If one of the 'lower' high ranks dies, these are the cats that replace them. If a distinguished looses all close family members (Parents, Siblings, Children) from a high ranking position, they will be changed to a lower rank. They don't really have a job, and mostly entertain themselves through helping out and making up games.

Regular ranks

Guards 2/25 -Sturdy, muscular cats trained to fight and protect. They stay in the Citadel at all times, unless permitted to leave by any higher rank. Encouraged to have their mate another guard but not required.

Fighters 2/30 -Cats that show speed and strength, as well as graceful movements and agility. They are trained to invade nearby clans and groups, fight as quickly as possible, then leave without a trace. Most are good with surprise attacks, and generally have darker pelt colors. Encouraged to not have mates, but are still allowed to without any real punishment. (Though others may shun, ignore, or torment them.)

Hunters 3/15 -Cats that show great speed and planning. They often times are fairly weak in battle and small, making them perfect for getting into small holes/chasing prey through places that larger cats wouldn't be able to fit in. They collect food every day, feeding the highest ranks first, then the regular ranks. They only eat when everyone excluding prisoners and the unwanted is fed. Extra prey is stored or given to prisoners and the unwanted.

Nurses 2/10 -She cats who help raise kits or have litters. When another ranking she cat does not want to keep her kits, they are given to the nurses. Also, if a she cat has a litter when ordered not to, her kits will be given away to the nurses despite if they are wanted or not.

Kits 7/any -A cat between the ages of 0 to three moons. After they turn three moons old, it is decided for them what rank they will be, excluding any cat of the distinguished. When a kit receives his/her rank, he/she does not go through any real training. Instead, older members of the rank take turns teaching them things, though they do this on their own time and it isn't something they must do.

Lower ranks

The Unwanted 1/any -Any cat with a defect that hinders him/her unable to carry out a job. This can be anything to old age to a broken foot that healed incorrectly. Even high ranking cats can become part of the unwanted if they become to old or have a serious injury. They are only treated slightly better than prisoners, for they can wander around. They are encouraged to leave the citadel for good, though many don't because they have protection and food given to them, however sparse it is.

Prisoners 2/any -A cat who has done something bad, related to a cat who has done something bad, or just a cat caught by fighters or guards for amusement. They are treated worse than dirt, often times used as personal stress relief or games. Both young and old are taught from the very beginning to kick them around when ever they please. The prisoners are kept in a small wine cellar near the citadel, and are not allowed to leave unless ordered to do jobs that no one else wishes to do.

Outsiders 2/any -A cat who lives on the territory of the Citadel, often also called a Stranger, who hunts prey that belongs to the Citadel, and will sometimes be aggressive. Those who are friendly can be bargained with, but aggressive outsiders are expected to be made prisoners.

High Council-
Dapple-Bright orange she cat with large ears and green eyes. She has a long, lithe body and tail. There are random, white tipped hairs all over her body, which she was named for. Played by Dastardly Fox

Akira-A white, soft coated she cat with sharply pointed ears and large blue eyes. Her senses are very powerful and she is a good judge of character. She is very wise, and hasn't had any kits yet, but she will be glad to have kits in the near future. Played by melrox4ever

Joham- A soft grey color, dappled by a stronger steel color. He stands pretty tall but has a very slim figure. His face is full with almond shaped eyes. One ear has been cut off a tiny bit, giving it the appearance of an oval ear. His eyes are a bright amber color with russet around the center. A very serene fellow, he will never jump to conclusions. He is not a short fuse sort of cat. It takes a while for him to be angry. He never thinks of himself higher then any other cat and gets a long well with any rank. While he is mostly open about everything, he is an open book, he does have a mysterious air about him. Played by Howdy thur Partnur

Marbalayvin- Marbled ginger tabby with black underside. Blue eyes. Played by ~|Nuoval|

Ash- Short grey fur covers Ash's body hence his name. His yellow eyes could possibly put you in trances, but what might catch your attention is his right front paw which causes him to limp. Other than that, Ash is a stunning tom. Ash is a smart and clever cat who will do anything to please anyone else. He is also kind with a mix of serious, brave, bold, loyal, honesty, and he's generous. This tom never brags or anything of the sort. Played by Stormstar10

Tangledpelt- Orange tabby with blue eyes. Kind, helpful, loyal and respectful. Played by Firehart12

High Healer-
Tanglestorm- gray tabby with white tip tail and green eyes. kind nice natural healer loyal. Played by Tanglepelt21

Frost- A diluted calico with tabby stripes on the cream spots, pale orange eyes. Keeps to herself, gives just about everyone a cold shoulder. Played by SunRiSe

Angela- A silver tabby with fading spots, Emerald green eyes, a black-tipped tail, also she has white paws, chest fur, and muzzle. Very intelligent, sweet and kind, but when she's angry, she holds it in, but sometime might take it out on you. Around strangers, she's really quiet and shy, but not to anyone in the Citadel. Played by ~Mooneh~

Healer-
Corinth- He is a light blue Harlequin (Mostly white, and has small splotches of the blue on his back, head, legs, and a solid tail) with light blue eyes. His eyes are a little lighter than his coat. Shy, withdrawn, quiet, but decently sized. He tries to keep both his body and mind fit and strong. He may not be the biggest, but he is probably the smartest. He is a little reserved, and doesn't talk much, but mostly because he doesn't know what to say. He hates to see cats, or anything for that matter, suffer, and tries to prevent anything too terrible from happening. He has *slight* clairvoyant power, he sees things happen just a little before they do, not enough to change much. Corinth likes to be alone, and his job lets him do that, patrolling the mostly unused corridors and such. He likes to learn, he wants to fancy himself as a "Renaissance-cat" (A jack of all trades) and may spend some of his extra time eavesdropping on others, learning strategies, about herbs, and anything else he can, though this tends to lead him to trouble. As for looks, he pretty much doesn't care. He doesn't mind if you're ugly, he's ugly, the world is ugly. He keeps himself a little neat, but wishes he had more blue on him than he does. Although he's the patient sort, he hates taking time to clean his white fur. So, he tries to avoid getting it dirty. Played by FallingRain

The Distinguished-
Nimble-An overly proud lavender she cat. Her most noticeable feature is her Dichroic eyes, meaning they have two colors in one iris. Half of her left eye is green, while the other half is a soft yellow/orange. She is the younger sister of Dapple. Played by Dastardly Fox

Crow- Small, black with a bib and white tipped tail. Very loud, somewhat obnoxious and gullible. He is known for stealing prey that doesn't belong to him, pilfering just about anything he can. Played by SunRiSe

Rocket- Rocket is identical to Ash except his eyes are green and his right paw is perfectly fine. Rocket is the yang to Ash's yin, but that's only because he is the younger twin. Rocket is like Ash in many ways, but he is also few things Ash isn't such as random, spontaneous, plus Rocket is like dynamite. This tom will say and do what he wants even if it gets him in trouble.Played by Stormstar10

Diamond- Blue-grey fur covers Diamond and her eyes are blue as well. She has a kink in her tail from when she was young, but other than that Diamond is perfectly healthy and strong. Diamond is shy and sweet, but don't be fooled by this because underneath Diamond is fierce. However, she is also loving and caring to those she is close too. Played by Stormstar10

Guards-
oBoulder- chocolate brown pelt and hazel eyes. very reserved and solves all his battles with fighting.

Electric- Electric has a petite frame,perfectly set ears with a few small nicks in them,a sleek,glossy pelt,and unusual electric blue eyes. She walks silently on tiny,kit-like paws,so barely no cat can hear her coming. Her tail in long,sleek,slim and glossy,exactly like her pure black pelt. Shy and quiet,Electric doesn't speak much. She keeps to herself,but in a flight or fight situation,she fights with all her strength and more. She is gentle,sweet,tender and kind on the inside,but barely any cat can tell this because she doesn't talk. Played by ♥ ρєяƒє¢тιση ♥

Fighters-
Flight- A skinny, somewhat scrawny tom with plush, lilac fur and pale green eyes. He is very dismissive of others, often disregarding them when he finds something more interesting or fun. Played by Dastardly fox

Fawn- White she cat. Sparkling blue eyes Funny, smart, learns fast. Played by Cypressmouth.

Hunters-
Kachiri- A pure white cat with odd colored eyes. One is green and one is blue. She is very slender and tall with extremely long legs. Can be very selfish and rude but otherwise she is a very humorous cat. Played by Howdy

Jill-A small grey tabby cat with a mangled front paw. She has a kinked tail and yellow eyes. A very insane cat. She has delusions and is always wanting attention. She hates almost all cats and is known to walk into the High Council room and demand to be a higher position. Played by Howdy

Dawn- White she cat with bright blue eyes. Sweet, nice. Trouble maker. Played by Cypressmouth.

Nurses-
oHarmony- tortoiseshell pelt that is mostly white and an unusually long tail, green eyes. very comfortable with her life, thinks she is more important then she really is but very loving and sweet to all kits.

Lily-Black she cat with blue eyes. Shy. Played by Cypressmouth

Kits-
oDaisy- chocolate tortie with amazingly bright blue eyes. very shy and timid but highly intelligent and persistent.

oKalua - Cream tabby. Gentle tempered and very content.

oNeko- chocolate with his mothers long tail. rather hot headed and always getting into trouble. Played By Falling Rain

oFelix Aduro- He is a small white cat with short curly fur, he has one paw that is splayed and steel gray eyes. He mostly keeps his fur and claws clean, he really isn't very striking. A spunky Tom that loves the ladies. A demon rests inside his soul that bursts power within in him when he is upset, angry, or at will. He is an emotional Tom who tries to forget about the demon. He smiles a lot and is not very bossy. He is exceptionally intelligent, and with the bursts, extremely powerful. Played by eclipse

Alpha- Alpha is always a small cat, with sturdy legs. But over time, her back left leg gets stiff, and twists slightly. She is very long, and slender. She has soft fluffy fur all her life. Her fur is a silver, with flecks of brown and orange. Her paws are very small. Her eyes are a light green. As a kit, Alpha is very quiet, reserved. But as time goes on, and she grows up, she learns to be herself. She is easily super calm, and rarely gets angered.

Unwanted-
*Shade- Dark grey almost black fur. Green eyes. Normal cat features. He has one white spot on the right side of his rump. It is about 1cmX1cm but as a circle. He is blind and practically useless. Smug. Brave. Loyal. Determined. Careful. Submissive. Proud. Friendly. Played by Windclanrules

Prisoners-
Maya- a cream colored she cat with indigo eyes. She friendly but quiet and is easily angered. Played by Cheetahblaze

Song- She is a young she-cat with multicoloured eyes. One is blue the other amber. She has a shining black pelt and has three scared claw marks going across her face. She is bright, mysterious and keeps to herself. She doesn't trust very many cats, and hates being alone. She is fast, swift and smart. Melrox4ever

Outsiders-
Astrid- Mysterious Golden eyes. She has a black and brown Tortoiseshell pelt and a half-length tail. her ear is torn on her left ear. Astrid is restless and cannot stand or sit still, but she is smart and clever. She is curious when it comes to new things. Sometimes it takes a little while for her to figure out right from wrong, but in the end, she always chooses right. Played by Melrox4ever

*Rain- Lighter grey than Shade but still a dark grey. medium blue eyes. Lean muscled body. Loyal. Easy to hurt(more mentally than physically; She is quick on her feet.) Brave. Quick thinker. Proud. Smug. Same personality as Shade but in a feminine way. Played by Windclanrules

Territory

The area is always cold, rarely getting warm, even during green leaf. It seems to be always raining, misting, snowing, or hailing, and grey storm clouds lurk in the air at all times. Despite the inclement weather, the cats make the most of it. Prey is somewhat plentiful in green leaf, though it becomes almost impossible to find. Pine trees and ivy grow in almost every possible location, and the ground rolls with soft, subtle hills. A rather large creek is near the Citadel, and thats the main water supply for the cats that live there.

Locations and Landmarks

The Citadel- The 'camp', it is a semi large castle/fortress, with many rooms and halls.

The Cellar- Its a short walk to the east of the Citadel, only taking a few minutes to get there. Two small but heavy ground doors keep the prisoners inside. Inside, a steep stair case leads to an underground room filled with very old wine barrels.

The dry river bed- A deep, but not steep (Hey, it rhymes) river bed that marks the edge of the eastern side of the territory.

Inside the Citadel

High Council's room- A large room filled with many colorful trinkets and clothes. The high council spends most its time here, either having meetings or sleeping. It is located on the first of two floors, and the last room off of the main hall.

Council's room- Where the council spends most of its time, it is the room across the hall from the High Council's room. It is just as big, though not nearly as many items adorn this room.

Den rooms- Various small rooms that line the main hall, all used for dens of regular ranking cats.

The Distinguished rooms- A room on the second floor where the distinguished sleep.

Healing room- A narrow room with many cabinets and the like. Herbs are stored in these. Healers and the sick sleep in here. It is on the first floor.

Prey Storage room- A room on the first floor set away from all the others. It's ceiling caved in long before cats started to live in it, making it almost always cold. Prey that is left over in put in here.

Kit rooms- A series of rooms on the second floor where the kits spend there time.

Religion and Culture

Religious beliefs

Though cats of the Citadel often have different views and ideas, they all link down to one single belief. They believe that if they do something to please many dead spirits of Paradise (not exactly good), they too will go to Paradise. Paradise is an exact replica of the Citadel, though it never gets to hot or to cold, and the walls are all standing. Though when trying to leave the Citadel area, land falls away and crumbles, not letting anyone past.

If they do little or nothing to please spirits but they also do nothing to displease them, they will go to the void. This is a common fate for many who live lives just to survive. The Citadel is also in the void, though everything remains the same. They see the same cracks and breaks as the cats still living, and the Citadel there is influenced by the real one. Any cat who tries to get away from the void Citadel fade as soon as they go down the stairs.

When a cat does something to displease the dead, either on purpose or not, they go to the The Nightmare. Like the others, this also has the Citadel in it. Though this time it is crumbled to the ground. Hunger is ever present, though there is just enough prey to tease the hunger instead of help. The cats still cannot leave the area of the Citadel, this time because they are unable to move when they step out of the debris. Just though the trees, the cats can see an image of Paradise, and many try to get to it, though in the end they are immobilized until they fade away.

There are several figures that they send prayers to when they want a specific thing, emotion, or quality.

Culture

Ignoring the religious parts, their culture is heavily based off of where everyone came from and what the neighbors do. If a celebration is happening in a nearby clan (and isn't an enemy) they will often times take on a celebration themselves. For the most part, their morals are based off of those inside the castle.

For the most part, they welcome strangers wearily, not letting them eat, and only letting them drink every other day until they know for sure who they are and why they are there. Despite this, they are very friendly to outsiders who come by more often than outsiders that don't. Though outsiders that come often are also expected to bring some sort off food with them, a sort of payment for living off of their resources.

Come winter time, many of the outsiders end up becoming prisoners for not bringing food.

Stories and Folklore

Most of these are taken from real stories and folklore, only modified to fit in with cats.

The Screaming Dove.
-Based off of the Banshee.

A white bird that marks death, she flies down from the heavens when a cat is near death or having just died. Her scream is long and shrill, and powerful enough to kill. She will sometimes scream at particular cats, which will in return kill them.

Hairless
-Based off of Chupacabra (The animalistic version instead of the humanoid version)

Sometimes described as dog like, sometimes just described as 'having four legs and bald,' Hairless in a large, wire haired or completely bald entity. He is rarely seen, though evidence of him can be found through his strange, untraceable smell and prey he leaves behind, which is mostly found with clean bite wounds to the neck and no eyes.

Trica
-Loosely based off of fae or fay (Whicheverso you please to call them, they are both the same thing from what I know, correct me if I am wrong)

These are colorful hummingbirds known for causing trouble. Despite the cold air, they seem to be able to make the area even colder. They seem to hold a certain amount of magical powers, anything from making a flower grow or making trees fall down. Trying to hunt one is generally dangerous, as it could cause it to become angry.

The dancing couple
-Based off of various ghost tales.

Sometimes in the dead of the night these two twolegs can be seen dancing together, both wearing lavish clothing. They continue for various amounts of times before just disappearing into each other and the air, leaving nothing behind but the smell of smoke and kicked up dust.

Ceremonies

These cats are not very festive. For the most part, when a cat is changing rank, s/he will be called to the High Councils room and told his/her rank. They will sometimes celebrate the changing of seasons, and feast during victories.

On rare occasions, they will have a bestowing, which is pretty much recognizing a cat with some form of power. In the ceremony, the cat receiving the bestowing is to pray to the figures. After doing so, he/she is to stay awake for four nights and eat nothing for two days after that. If they are able to catch a crow on the seventh day of the bestowing, they are considered rankless and are able to do as they please, even boss the High council around.

Though the Citadel has all the herbs regular clans do, they also have a few more that are known to grow around, and they also use some of the regular clan herbs for different reasons.

Poison- This herb is used as a poison
Medicine- This herb is used for healing
Edible- This plant is safe to eat with out any known side effects.
Scent- This plant has a strong scent and can be used to cover up less pleasant smells.
Topical- The juice's can be used on skin/outer ear

Leave's topical uses: Mild skin problems, Warts, Hearing problems.
Leave's internal uses: A very strong laxative, induced vomiting
Root's topical uses: Inflamed skin
Root's internal uses: Worms, Stomach flues, Snakebites?
!This plant is very powerful, and even a small amount can kill. It is a gamble to use this plant, as it will almost always result in more problems than it was used to treat. If used on a pregnant queen, the babies will abort, no matter the age. Kits die almost instantly. Healthy warriors could die in hours!

Leave's external uses: Fresh leaves to stop nose bleeding
Leave's topical uses: Stops/Slows bleeding
Leave's internal uses: Detoxer, induced vomiting, internal bleeding
!This can kill young kits, and a large amount can kill older cats as well. Using it as a topical over open cuts may cause blood poisoning!

If your cat is a hp, you must post at least once every week. If you fail to give a warning of absence for more than a week you will be removed from the hp until further notice.
