Crystalkit wriggled out of Ebonyfang's grip and then, as if in a trance, started to walk further into the tunnel. She appeared to be talking o someone. "What do you mean? Cats can't fly! you want us to ride eagles? where is the place of standing pines?" Echobreeze nudged her. "Crystalkit, whou are you talking to?" she mewed. Crystalkit's reply was barely a whisper. "My Mother." she mewed hoarsely, and ran off, following Sparkledew. Crystalkit's mother had died on a hunting patrol, by the claws of Sharptooth, before a silver cat haad killed him.

Mosskit curled into her mother's belly, squeezing in between the indignant Goldenkit and Stormkit.

Mosskit pushed her siblings out of the way and took up all of Shelltails belly.

Storm kit raced after them. She was smaller then her brothers, and she felt she had to work hard to fit in, being surrounded by toms.
