emberkit looked up in time to see snowstar padding out of his den towards where oakwing and jaywing were sharing freshkill. he sat down beside them and quietly talked with them for a while. "I wonder what they're talking about?" then snowstar jumped up onto the highrock and called out, "let all those who are old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting." emberkit lashed her tail excitedly as she joined her clanmates beneath the highrock.

"I have called you here today to witness the making of four new apprentices." snowstar looked at the four kits. he jumped down from the rock and landed near the kits. "aprillkit."he looked at her."from now and until you become a warrior you will be aprilpaw. ravenswift will be your mentor." he paused for a second as he looked at the dark shecat. "ravenswift, you have learned much. pass on what you can to your apprentice."
-
ravenswift ran over to greet her apprentice. she whispered something in her ear. then snowstar said, "emberkit," emberkit rushed forwards excitedly. "until you become a warrior, you shall be known as emberpaw. jaywing will be your mentor. kayaking," he turned to her. "you are one of our clans finest hunters and fighters, and I expect you to pass on your skills to your apprentice." he gave them both a nod. emberpaw ran to sit beside jaywing.
-
"foxkit," he looked at the reddish kit. "until the time when you become a warrior, you will be known as foxpaw. mosslily will be your mentor. mosslily," he turned to the cream colored shecat. "you are gentle and wise with others, and we admire that in you. pass on your skills to this apprentice." mosslily walked over to sit by her new apprentice.
-
snowstar shifted his gaze. "tigerkit," he watched the young Tom for a moment. "from now on and until you become a warrior you shall be known as tigerpaw. your mentor will be..." he paused for a moment before continuing. "your mentor will be oakwing. oakwing," he looked at her. "you have not been a warrior for long, but you are very skillful in many things, and I expect you to pass on what you have learned to your apprentice." oakwing looked thrilled as she went to sit by her new apprentice. "foxpaw! emberpaw! tigerpaw! aprilpaw!" the other cats called out. skyfeather looked on proudly as she called out her son's name with her classmates.
-
Emberpaw held her head high proudly. "I can't wait to get started on my apprentice duties! can you?" she whispered excitedly.
-
ooc: do you want to rp emberpaws mentor or can I? I'll to tigerpaw mentor.
ic: the older warriors came to congratulate them. "congrats on the apprenticeship guys." pinefrost dipped her head."if you need any mouse bile for the elders ticks I'll be in my den." her eyes twinkled amusement. -
"kay." she padded after jaywing. oakwing came over to tigerpaw."want to start training now?"
-
"okay. sounds great!" emberpaw pureed with ddelight.
oakwing headed towards the camp entrance. "c'mon, tigerpaw!" she smiled. -
emberpaw swooped her paw at the moss, causing it to fall off the tree roots. "like this?" the moss was roughly cut.
oakwing stopped in the training hollow. "we can practice hunting moves in here." -
Emberpaw tried again, the moss cut a bit better this time. "how's this?"
Oakwing crouched. "okay, so pretend that I'm an enemy warrior. how would you attack me?"
ooc:I'm so srry I haven't been on much.. schools been keeping me busy :P -
"very good. maybe you could show me?" Oakwing shifted, ready to dodge away when he pounced.
Emberpaw purred as she cleaned the moss out from between her claws. -
Emberpaw grinned. "okay!" she ran ahead playfully.
Oakwing dodged him, pressing close to the ground and reaching out with a paw to trip him. "pretty good, but you need to work on where your eyes are. like, if you aim your eyes at one spot, then pounce on another, it will confuse your enemy." she stood up. "try again."
-
Oakwing didnt expect it, so his attack took her by surprise. She dug her back paws into the ground, and sprang out from under him. "very good. that one surprised me." she purred.
Emberpaw reached camp, looking over her shoulder to see if her mentor was following.
-
Oakwing smiled. "Well, it looks like you learned alot today. maybe you'd like to go on a hunting patrol?"
when Emberpaw saw that she was, she headed over to where the other apprentices were. "hey aprilpaw, foxpaw!"
-
Oakwing purred with amusement. "Well, alright. go and join the other apprentices if you want. but tomorrow I'm going to take you on border patrol, so you'd better be rested!"
"so how'd you training go?" Emberpaw sat down next to them.
-
"Wow, a vole? that's great! and you got to see the borders! sound like you both had fun. Jaywing showed me how to collect moss." Emberpaw looked over her shoulder and spotted Tigerpaw.
Oakwing watched her apprentice. I'm so lucky to be able to mentor him... one day he's going to be an amazing warrior. she thought.
-
Oakwing smiled and curled her tail over her paws."hi. how's it going with Emberpaw? she looks like a handful."
Emberpaw smiled as she shifted slightly to make room for him. "So, What was Oakwing teaching you? I thought I heard some fighting back at the training hollow..." she flicked her tail playfully.
-
"it went pretty well..." she replied.
"Wow! that sounds like so much fun.... jaywing taught me how to collect moss" Emberpaw put her paw down on her tail to keep it from twitching anymore.
-
"that sounds neat! wish I could come...." she blinked then ruffled her fur.
Oakwing watched them for a few second then stretched and stood up. "I think I'll go out hunting for awhile. hopefully Tigerpaw won't get into any trouble while I'm gone..."
