Ganrax watched Nib as he proceeded to cook the food. She had never understood why people liked to heat up their meals, she had pulled through eating it how it was. She found herself beginning to trust this man, after all he had helped her with food twice and her wrist was already feeling much better.

"I'm sorry I robbed your town." she spoke quietly.

"It's no problem, I'm sure you had a good reason." he stated while looking up.

"Well you city people don't give me much of a choice." Ganrax said with amusement. "People keep cutting down more trees to make more towns, gives me and Fracshyn less places to roam and less food options.

Nib didn't say anything but instead poured some of the soup into a bowl and handed it to her. After considering for a moment, she took it and took a small sip, remembering the skill of savoring food to allow it to last longer.

"I've been thinking about your offer of traveling" she spoke slowly. "It actually sounds like a good idea, a chance to see the world and not always be considered trouble." she said while glancing at him through the corner of her eye.

Ganrax had just finished trying on all the clothes. They had fit her perfectly but resumed wearing her normal clothing. she had chosen to wear them in emergencies due to the fact that they were mostly solid colors and missing the other five. Ganrax loved colors, she thought they beautiful and she tried to wear as much of it as possible. Once finished, Ganrax sat outside to await Nib's return.

She waited and waited but he never came back. Fracshyn was sensing something wrong as well and kept his ears perked up. She was about to think he had abandoned her when she heard something. It was a loud whack. It sounded very smaller to the sound the rock had made when she had hit the soldier in the head. Realizing something was wrong she jumped onto Fracshyn who had already stood up in alarm.

"Fracshyn, there is something wrong! Go, Go!!"

With that, the two ran to the source of the sound, their speed so quick they were nothing more than a blur. Fracshyn closed his eyes and let out a bat-like shreek that allowed him to see better in the dark. He suddenly stop and crouched down as Atwood people could be seen. It was one of the soldiers from town, and Nib, who to her horror was pinned by a couple of rocks. Nib's face was brused and bleeding from the many rocks he had chunked At him.

"Fracshyn! Intersept!" She shouted. Then she blew as hard as she could into the dog whistle which made Frachsyn let out a demonic howl into the sky and lunge into battle.

With the soldier busy trying to avoid the creature's snapping jaws, Ganrax ran to Nib's aid.

Ganrax nodded to him in reply before turning her attention to Fracshyn and the soldier. He was gritting his teeth as he clutched his shoulder where Fracshyn had bitten him. He was blindly throwing rocks at him who was simply jumping to and fro, avoiding them completely.

Faster than Ganrax could think, Nib sent a gust of wind that knocked the soldier off balance, allowing Fracshyn to finish him off with a blow of his forepaw. "That should do it boy, over here!"

"We should probably run before he gets up" she said, turning to Nib. "But don't worry, I grabbed all of our supplies before we got here" gesturing to the two bags hanging on a low tree branch.

He simply nodded and ran to grab them while Ganrax mounted Fracshyn. A rustling in the bushes told her that the soldier had come back. "Let's go!" she shouted. Fracshyn suddenly rushed forward and grabbed the collar of Nib's shirt with his teeth and threw him onto his back just behind Ganrax. The wolfbat than spread it's wings and took off, though Ganrax could swear she could feel the soldier's cold gaze onto them as they left.

Finally catching her breath, Ganrax gave Fracshyn a pat on the head."Good boy" She whispered.

"You okay?" she asked while slightly turning to Nib's direction.

Ganrax gave him a small smile before returning her attention to where they were going. "You can thank Fracshyn for his good hearing."

The trio flew on in silence, all determined to put some distance between them and that town. Soon the sun was no longer visible and the stars shone brightly in the night sky. Fracshyn let out an exhausted grunt, his mouth open and panting heavily. "We should stop for the night" she said to Nib over the howl of the wind. "Fracshyn is just about spent." Nib nodded in agreement, tiredness shone clearly in his eyes. "Alright Fracshyn, lets land." He barked in response and dove for the ground. They landed heavily and practically skidded to a stop as Ganrax and Nib slid off his back. "Okay boy, you can go hunt now." Fracshyn perked his ears up and let out an excited tip before dashing away into the forest.

Feels good to be back in the forest, she thought to herself while happily staring at the many trees. Nib appeared to be pleased with the amount of vegetation as well. Ganrax let out a tired sigh and sat against the trunk of a tree. "It seems we now have an enemy, we'll probably see him again"

"I shouldn't have gone into that town in the first place. Because of me, we are all in danger. I'm really sorry."

Ganrax shook her head. "I'd actually perfer if i slept outside, Me and Fracshyn enjoy the stars and trees." Nib hesitated. "I've never really slept inside something before, I'm not a fan of the limit of space, I'll be fine."

That said, she walked back outside and resumed sitting down, her gaze ficked on the many stars above. She loved to watch the many lights that appeared in the sky everynight, imagining that they were the many spirits of the afterlife watching over her. She had never had any parents to keep her company and assure her of safety, so she allowed the stars toact as her guardians when she needed it. A quiet bark shoved Ganrax out of her thoughts as Fracshyn returned. She smiled and stroked hid head as he layed next to her. He gave her hand a lick before laying his head on his paws and closed his eyes to sleep.

Ganrax let out a sigh. So much had happened in one day and now she was traveling with someone she had only just met. But perhapes it was for the better and maybe she would actually serve a purpose in life.

"Goodnight Nib." she whispered into the tent.

"Night." came the reply. Tired, Ganrax leaned against Fracshyn and cast onemore glance at the sky before sleep finally took over.

Black. Those were all that Ganrax's dreams were. She could never put herself into a deep enough sleep to ever dream correctly, but she could hear them. All around her were hushed whispers that were too distant for her to make out. These are what dreams were always like for her, waiting for when morning would finally take her from this dark prison.

Gasping, Ganrax jerked herself awake. It looked to be about dawn considering that the sun wasn't up yet and the sky was a light shade of grey. Fracshyn snored softly beside her, his paws placed over his nose. Asuming Nib was still asleep, she got up quietly and walked off into the forest to stretch her legs. The woods were mostly quiet, even the birds weren't singing yet. She simply walked around, being sure to stay near camp, while admiring the many colors the forest provided with. The many flowers or insects contained lots of colors that almost made her feel completely happy again.

She then came opon a familier bush that had seen only a couple other times. She had heared a couple of people call it a fig bush. Garax gazed happily at the many figs that covered the bush. The least I could do it provide with breakfast, she thought.

Ganrax sat next to Fracshyn, quietly munching on figs.

"So Ganrax, why do you steal so much, don't you have a family that looks after you?" He asked.

This question surprised Ganrax and she suppressed a sigh. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend-
It's okay" she interrupted. "I once had a family, a father and a mother. But that was a long time ago, I hardly even remember what they look like. Then one day, I don't know what I did, but they just left me. I looked for them for a very long time, Hoping that they just accidentally lost me. But I could never find them, so I was forced to survive on my own. then a while back I met Fracshyn, he was being used to test for side effects on cure for rare sicknesses. I felt sorry for him and broke him out of his prison and he has been with me ever since."

she let out a choked sob at the memory of her seemingly horrible life. It seemed as if she was forever forced to be hated by everyone.

"Thats why I had to sometimes steal supplies in town i passed, because no one bothers to notice me."

"I'm really sorry that that happen" spoke Nib after a long pause.

Ganrax forced a smile. "Don't worry about it, to think about it, your the first person that has ever been this nice to me and I'm eternally gratefull."

"Hey i have one more question, if thats okay." Ganrax nodded in reply.

"Where did you learn earth bending?" Ganrax gave a small smile. "Well i didn't realise was an earth bender until i was almost arrested and accidentally bended a guy into a building. And for a while i dressed as a average school student to help improve my skills, when i thought i was good enough to defend myself, i moved on."

    "Cool" Nib smiled.

Ganrax allowed herself to give another small smile. "I suppose the past hasn't exactly been friendly to us, but the good news is that it can only get better. Perhapes this journey will benifit both of us." she said carefully.

Ganrax resumed enjoying the senery of the forest around them, every flower was like a blessing to her. "Fracshyn is everything to me." she continued. "He was the only one who didn't think my existance was a mistake, he helped me feel wanted, then you came along. Its good to know that i have another person to consider a friend." She finished.

Above them, Fracshyn howled happily as if agreeing with her. There was a loud thud as he landed beside Ganrax, trotting along with her. "Fracshyn is glad to have you with us as well, he appriciates the amount of kindness you have givin us" Nib smiled in return, His eyes fixed on the creature that stroded beside them.

"I,ve been wanting to ask, Why exactly are we traveling to an earth kingdom? Not wanting to seem rude or anything, its just that i'm sorta a wanted theif in almost every town i visited. Word travals fast and it is always best for us to keep a low profile." she said while staring at him worridly. She still hasn't forgotten the man that had betrayed he trust. They had traveled in the woods for a while and she had trusted him. She remembered him wanting to gather supplies in a large town near the path they were travaling. When she had seen him talking with a guard, thats when se had realized she had been tricked. From then on, she tried to stay away from people as much as possible. Even though Nib had been super kind to her, and she almost fully trusted him, she could never be too carefull.

Ganrax Sat at the temporary camp, awaiting Nib's return. Fracshyn sat next to her, basking in the warm sunlight. Looking for something to do, she allowed her eyes to roam the surroundings until they landed on a small chunk of wood. Smiling, she pulled out her pocket knife and set to work.

She leaned against a tree, carefully carving at the wood until a dragon's face could be identified. She slowly formed the forelegs, wings, and tail until a Chinese-like dragon layed smooth and carved in her hands. She leaned back, grinning for the first time in years at her work.

"Hey, Ganrax." Said Nib as he walked back to camp. Ganrax placed the wooden dragon in her pocket before gazing at him in return. " I got us some fish, though I don't know what Fracshyn likes.

"No worries, Fracshyn will eat just about anything you give him" she chuckled.

"Well good" he smiled. They ate in silence, Each lost in their own thoughts on when they should set out again. Fracshyn loudly licked his chops, happy about the wonderful and easy meal. "I'm excited to see this new primate species" said Ganrax, surprising Nib. "I've always been fascinated with the many plants and animals this world provides with, of course there is the going into town part." But he did say it was small, so the likelyhood of them recognizing me is as such, she thought to herself.

Once everyone was well fed and had a little rest, Ganrax forced herself to her feet. "We should probably get going" she said softly. "Sounds good." Nib replied. With that, the three were walking down the path once more. Fracshyn let out tired grunts every once in a while, but the creature shared the same determination to reach their destination as the others so he gave no signs of slowing down.

"We should probably continue our journey through the air." Said Ganrax while casting Nib a glance. "This sort of foot travel is going to increase our journey for at least another day, plus this heat is going to make Fracshyn tire faster."

Ganrax smiled happily as they soared throughthe air on Frachsyn. Strangly for an earth bender, she loved the air and always had fun when flying. Ganrax laughed happily as Fracshyn soared through a low hanging cloud, breathing in the cool moisture of its atmosphere.

They flew on, no one really saying anything except for the ecational howl of the wolf-bat they flew on. Suddenly, Ganrax realized that she was feeling vibrations. Normally she was used to feeling the many movements of the people and animals around her, givin she was an earth bender, but they were in the air not onthe ground.

Fracshyn quickly banked left which made Nib place a trembling hand onto her shoulder to prevent from falling over. Fracshyn finally leveled but only resulted in him tightening his grip, making Ganrax inwardly whince. She allowed herself to ignore the change in Nib's happy-go-lucky attitude. She had never been one to judge people and she knew everyone had at least one fear. A gust of wind made Fracshyn jerk back slightly, forcing both to cling roughly to him to prevent from falling to their deaths. Ganrax then felt the dragon carving she had made earlier fall out her pocket. She stared sadly after it, unable to do anything about it, but Fracshyn thought differently.

He let out a bark and quickly dove after it, folding his wings to send them into free-fall. Ganrax was used to this and expertly leaned close to Fracshyn to allow them to go faster. If Nib reacted for Ganrax could hardly hear anything over the wind, but he suddenly clutched her a hard as he could while tembling badly. Ignoring it, Ganraxed focased on catching up with the carving until she was able to grasp it again. Unable to stop in time, Fracshyn forced them into a rough landing.

"Well that was fun." She gasped as she hopped off his back. She glanced back at Nib who was looking incredibly pale." Well we're here" She said to him while gesturing to the earth kingdom building. Nib still refused to say anything. " Hey, you okay?" she asked.

"Thats fine." Ganrax replied. She allowed herself to stare at the many buildings with wonder. This was the largest town she had ever seen, she was sure that Nib mentioned it being a small town.

For a while, the two simply broused around the many buildings and towers that mostly consisted of the town. She felt very lonely without Fracshyn at her side, they had to leave him outside the town gates for a while until they knew where they were staying. Nib soon walked up to a slightly small building, assuming this was part of his research, Ganrax waited outside. Ganrax continued to gaze at the building structures, nodding to many people whoi acknowledged her to seem like an everyday traveler.

But she couldn't help but notice that she was being stared at. Of course there were many people here, but she was unable to swallow the sudden feeling of unease within her. Feeling that something was wrong, she decided to walk around. She walked up to a small ally where the glares seemed to come from, disreagarding the dangers that were sure to follow. But when nothing was there she forced herself to returned to the building where Nib was waiting. He gave her a worried stare but she simply gestured that all was well. But that is not the case, she thought to herself.

Ganrax walked around the town, slowly making her way to the outer gate. Nib was right about one thing, the people here knew nothing about her. She happily exchanged kind glances with the many townsfolk that passed her. She was almost to the gate when something on one of the carts caught her eye. It was a bracelet made from rope and leather. Tide onto the leather with the string was a smooth stone with a white peace sign carved into it. Ganrax had heard of this type of shape before by a friendly hermit she had met in a swamp before. He had said that they helped promote peace of mind and spirit, while still maintaining an ordinance of neutrality.

She was about to consider purchasing the item when she suddenly gave herself a mental jerk. I can't possibly spend Nib's money on something I don't need, she thought. He has already done so much for me, i can't just toss away his emergency money.

After casting one more longing glance at the item, she walked of to the outer gate and stopped herself just outside the wall. Ganrax then pulled out her dog whistle and blew into it, signaling to Fracshyn her location. Seconds later, a distant howl was heard and the light stomping of fast feet. Fracshyn gave a happy bark as he approached and lightly nosed her head in greeting. "Hey boy." she said while rubbing the back of his ears. She continued to pet her friend while her mind processed on how to pass the time until she was to return.

She then glanced at the many rocks and boulders that surrounded the town wall. A bit of training wouldn't hurt, she thought to herself.

With a flick of her wrist she forced the bolder into the air, her muscles tightening as she kept it air-born. She then tightened her fist which broke the bolder into many tiny rocks. She then sent the rock shards hurtling to another slightly smaller boulder, then hitting square on her mental target. Smirking, she gripped the ground beneath her and jumped as hard as she could, taking the earth with her. Still hovering in the air, she flung it at what remained of the boulder, shattering it completely. She smirked at her success, her lack of bending has done nothing to slow her skills.

Wanting to try something knew, she stepped onto a much sandier surface. Straining her muscles, she stamped her foot into the ground and spun into a neat twirl. She smiled in triumph as the sand swirled with her, creating some sort of sandy shield. Trying one more time, she worked her brain onto an image, flexing her hand she set to work. Once done, she managed to bend almost and exact replica of Fracshyn. Suddenly her friend let out a playful yip before crashing into the creation, rolling happily into the loose sand. Inwardly glowing, she laughed as he shook the sand out of his fur and sent it scattering through the air like snow.

"Looks like we've still got it." she said to herself while staring at her hands.

While sadly saying a farewell to Fracshyn, Ganrax walked back into the town. The sun was setting, giving the sky a beautiful orange glow. Realizing she had forgotten to ask where the inn they were staying at was, she relied on her knowledge on what one might look like to help increase her chances at guessing. She found herself stopping at a very tall and wide building that couldn't possibly be considered a store or home. Hoping she was at the right place, she sat onto the steps and hoped to see Nib's arrival.

It took a while for Ganrax to find her room due to the fact that she was unaware of the way buildings worked. When she finally found it she unlocked it with her key and stepped inside. The room was a good size with a dresser, a full sized bed, a small bathroom, and a very large window that gave full view of the forest the building it stood near. She also noticed a small shelf near the window she was gazing at that hung empty. Giving a small smile, she pulled her wooden dragon carving out from her pocket and placed it onto the shelf.

Still feeling uneasy about being in such a large building, Ganrax pulled out her canteen and emptied out the water into an almost flat bowl that was provided in a cabinet in the bathroom. Though she couldn't exactly call it as such since it contained no bath, towns people really are strange, she thought. She then cupped some of the water into her hands and splashed it over her face. Then remembering, Ganrax stared at her bandaged wrist. Deciding to see how it was healing, she carefully unwrapped the splint.

It was no longer swollen and had lost its purple color, but was replaced by a gruesome greenish yellow tint. It ached badly when she tried to move it and was very stiff. Sighing sadly, Ganrax washed the bandage in what water remained and wrapped it back on. She them gave her a mental slap in the face when she realized that she probably injured it more while training. "I'm probably the ugliest girl alive" she said to herself while staring into the mirror, but she couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. "Life's been tough, but that doesn't men it can't get better" she whispered, reciting the phrase she had to use almost everyday of her sad and horrible life. She allowed a single tear to fall from her cheek as memories of when her parents abandoned her came back.

Ganrax laughed loudly as she ran through the forest, her father running not far behind. She giggled as his hand roughly grasped her's, "Got you!" he said with false happiness that she failed to notice. "You got me!" she shouted while giving him a hug. For a second, she got a feeling of confusion when he didn't return the embrace. "Hey, lets play hide and seek" he spoke to her. Ganrax eagerly nodded while meeting his gaze. "Okay, now count to 100" he said somewhat sternly. She nodded and closed her eyes and began counting. Suddenly the sound of the horse that brought them there running off forced her eyes open. Ganrax's eyes widened when her father sat mounted on said animal, making it go faster when he saw her staring after him. "No dad! Where are you going!?" She screamed. "I'm not going to be the father of a stupid bender who killed my wife!" he yelled after before he vanished altogether. Tears streamed down her face, she wanted to run after him, he couldn't leave her. But one thing was holding her back, what he said was true. Her mother had died giving birth to her for a reason that was unknown. Still silently crying, she forced herself to walk in the opposite direction.

"That's all I'll every be, a stupid bender that should have never been born" she spoke as the flashback ended. Refusing to let the past get the better of her, she walked out her room and back into the main lobby. Deciding to wait out what minutes remained until meeting with Nib, she picked up a books lying on one of the shelves and worked on perfecting her reading skills.

Ganrax stared intently at the loads of words the book provided. How did people read like this, it looks like a bad dream on some paper she thought to herself. Foot steps forced her to look up as Nib walked back into the hallway. She merely blinked before walking up to him, the book long forgotten.

"Hey Ganrax, how about we head to the tables for some food." he offered cheerfully.

She simply nodded, not really in the mood to start up a conversation.

She followed Nib to a slightly larger area with some tables and a counter where she assumed the food was served at. It looked like a smaller version of the building she went to to meet Nib at the town she got ambushed at. Nib quickly went to a man at the counter, probably to get them a table. She was about to follow when she noticed something in the corner of her eye. It looked like a man peaking through the door, staring at her. But when Ganrax turned to see it more clearly it was gone. Feeling more uneasy than ever, she continued to stare intently at where the figure came from, daring it to show itself again.

"Alright I just got us a- Ganrax are you okay?"

Ganrax jumped at the sound of Nib's voice. "I'm fine." she answered. "Just not used to being in such a big building, ya know?" she finished, hoping the excuse was enough. Not waiting for a reply she followed Nib to the table they ushered to by the man and accepted her menu. Nib did the same, thought Ganrax could tell he was gazing at her worriedly.

While pretending to read the items on the menu, she continuously glanced about, fearing that she might see the figure once again. When she saw nothing out of the ordinary, she finally forced herself to order her meal. Something's up, she thought fearfully.

Ganrax tiredly opened the door. Her entire room was completely organized since she was used to waking up early. He only belongings still out was her dragon carving that stood perched on the shelf.

"Mornin Ganrax, ready to seek out that firechimp?"

She nodded eagerly, her eyes shining excitedly at the thought of going back into the forest for a short while. "May Fracshyn join us? He is good with tracking."

Nib smiled. "Of course, plus you must miss him."

She couldn't help but nod. This was true, she never has really been away from Frachsyn for more than a couple of minutes ever since she rescued him. Though it was probably for the best, he hated the city as much as she did and was probably more comfortable out there.

The two quickly bought some fruit from one of the stands as breakfast before walking out the town gate. Ganrax finished the last of her apple before taking a deep breath and blowing into her dog whistle. She smiled as a faint howl rang through the trees as the wolfbat glided to a landing beside her. "Hey boy!" she said happily while pulling out a dried out chunk of meat from her pocket. She amused herself by tossing it to him and in response he caught it in his mouth and chewed happily. She caught Nib once again staring at Fracshyn with deep fascination. He seemed to do this a lot but it was probably because he shared the same enjoyment of animals as she did. She gave her friend one more pet on hid muzzle before turning to Nib.

"So, do you have any ideas on the location of this firechimp?" she asked curiously.

Ganrax's heart was beating frantically as her mind processed on how close she was to death.

"T-t-thank y-you." she managed to say. Fracshyn nosed her worriedly like a father fretting over his child. Shaking of the feeling of complete fear from her fall, she pulled away from Nib and took a step towards the firechimp. The poor thing was tied up and could barely move which deeply saddened her.

"Strange how they would make such a big trap for a much smaller animal." she said while looking back at the now gapping hole in the ground and hoping her voice didn't give away the fear she still felt.

"Probably was made for something else." Nib said. Ganrax looked back at him in confusion but he didn't appear to want to say anything else.

"We should worry about that later" she finished while forcing a smile. "Right now we should probably focus on freeing that thing, we can't just leave it like that."

Nib nodded. "Okay but we need to be careful. We don't want to hurt it or make it think we are a threat."

She nodded and was about to slowly walk up to it when Fracshyn suddenly grabbed the collar of her shirt with his teeth while growling faintly. Ganrax didn't move but instead gazed at him straight in the eye. "It's going to be alright boy, I don't think there are any more traps." Fracshyn slightly loosened his grip, his eyes were glistening with worry, protection, and fear. " Fracshyn if we don't help this firechimp no one will, I'll be careful this time, I promise." she said while giving him the brightest of smiles she had ever given. Slowly he released his grip, though he was still tense and his wings were spread out in preparation for the slightest hint on the ground caving in again.

"Okay, lets go" she said to Nib, traces of the sudden happiness still on her face.
