Coalpaw nodded. "Okay." He said. Wavestar led the way to the main camp exit, towards the shore where there was lots of driftwood and rocks and shells.

Plumpaw dove into the water splashing wildly. (She isn't a very good swimmer either but she can manage.) The fish shot away and the water was suddenly clear. "Yeah! Let's go!"

Sharppaw frowned. Then his eyes lit up. "Hey! I bet, that if you're with us, Mossystar might let you watch our battle training later! The battle clearing is just outside of camp. You can't get lost because there are stony Twoleg paths to it, and Mossystar AND Ratleap will be there!" He looked at Angelpaw. "Ratleap is taking you battle training with me later, right?"

Coalpaw shrugged. "The Shore?" he guessed. Wavestar shook his head. "Well, we are at the shore, but the main reason that it is important is because this is where apprenticces first learn to hunt. There are lots of fish around here, because they like the shallow water, especially near sunhigh."

ooc: Ravenfire is accepted!

ic: "Ravenfire, would you like to go out on a hunting patrol? I'll come, and Turtlefur and Saltpaw can come too." Minnowstar suggested.

Sharppaw grimaced. "That's too bad. And Freezeleaf might not let you either..I'm sorry." He glanced at Mousekit, then back at Angelpaw. "I saw a HUGE snow bird on the fresh-kill pile earlier. Want to share it?"He asked.

Sharppaw padded over and tugged the bird off the top of the pile. Shadowtalon stood over it. "Where's a little thing like you going with that bird?" He teased. Sharppaw bowed his head to the deputy. "Me, Angelpaw, and Mousekit are going to share it. I brought back a mouse earlier and gave it to Mintloud, so I can eat now." Shadowtalon nodded. "Yes, you can eat. And Mousekit too. But Angelpaw hasn't done anything today except fall into the Frozen Lake."

ooc: i have to go.

ic: "Shadowtalon, that's exactly why she needs food. If we let a cat freeze and starve at the same time, are we following the warrior code?" Sharppaw demanded in a blaze of fury. Shadowtalon glared at him. "Fine. Let Angelpaw eat. And tomorrow, you AND Angelpaw may tend to the elders from dawn to sunhigh."

ooc: Accepted, Heatherstreak!

ic: Minnowstar led the way out of camp, her eyes watching the ocean for any sign of fish. This late in leaf-bare, prey was scarce, although the fish and some crabs even enjoyed the sunhigh warmth. Turtlefur yawned. They spotted Heatherstreak on a sunny rock just outside of camp, her belly swollen with kits.

ooc: yes, you heard me, MistClan now eats crabs.

Coalpaw nodded. "Okay." He sat just above the water's edge. His shadow was on the beach, not in the water. A carp flashed by, and in the same instant, Coalpaw stuck his paw in. The carp emerged, struggling, on the beach. Coalpaw killed with a nip to the neck.

"There aren't many fish around right now..." Minnowstar mused. "Just the other day Shardpaw found a new crab colony near here. Let's try for some crabs." She decided.

"Because," Shadowtalon growled, "he needs to learn respect. Talking back to the deputy is not the way to do that."

"Shardpaw says it's just north of here, near the border with CreekClan. It's mostly shallow water and wet sand over there, so I'm not surprised there are lots of crabs."

Shadowtalon shook his head. "No. By no means do I want you to die. However, apprentices need to learn respect. Respect for the leader and deputy is key in being a loyal warrior. Maybe one day you will be deputy, Angelpaw, and then you can let cats eat when they are rude to you. But for now, I am deputy of SnowClan, and I say that you may eat. Tend the elders in the morning." He sighed and walked away, snatching a mouse. Sharppaw sighed too. "Come on, Angelpaw. Let's eat."

"Sure, come on." Minnowstar replied. "Just be prepared to get your paws wet."

ic: Icypaw looked at her mentor. Blazefeather was a strong and capable cat, but she wondered if they would have to stay in camp because of her kits. "Blazfeather, are your kits going to be okay without you?" She asked.

Sharppaw got up from where he was eating with Mousekit to approach Ratleap. "I haven't see you since I was kitted." He said.

ooc: Mapleleaf you are accepted. I'm guessing you're a young warrior, but qualified. You may be deputy.

ic: Minnowstar followed the path up to the crabs' colony and stopped. Hundreds of little red and purple crabs were scuttling in and out.

ooc: Okay going back to Plumpaw.

Plumpaw clambered up onto the bank, shaking out her fur. She was cold and damp but brightened up at the sight of the beautiful Oceanstone.
