Treekit mewed loudly for his mother, but she was nowhere to be found.
-
The shy kit, noticing Gingerpaw, become filled with fright. He tried to back away, but a tree blocked his way.
"Do- do you know where my mother is?" he quietly asked.
-
Treekit was scared of the two cats, and sought to escape from them. He attempted to dash past Jadewhisker.
-
Treekit, realizing that Gingerpaw was not going to harm him, stopped his escape attempt and looked at the apprentice.
"Who's the other big cat?" he questioned.
-
Moonstride was dozing off in a nearby tree. He was just about to pounce on a large squirrel in his dream when a soft thump awakened him. He opened his amber eyes and looked around. What he saw surprised him.
He had expected to see an apprentice, fooling around by the oak. Instead of that, he saw an attractive she-cat. He padded over to the oak.
"Hello," he said.
-
Treekit nodded in agreement and began to purr.
-
Treekit suddenly stopped purring. He scented a strange smell. Then he saw something
moving from behind the trees. It was a fox!
-
Treekit became worried after Gingerpaw pointed out the fox. He ran, struggling to keep up with Gingerpaw. He tripped over a rock and fell to the ground, dazed.
-
"I'm fine," he replied. He turned his head and saw that the fox was out of view. "I think we'll be fine," he observed.
-
Treekit looked around, his heart sinking.
"Will we ever find our way back?" he asked.
-
Boulderclaw of Snowclan walks in. He has heard tales of grandeur about Sunclan's festival. After many days of traveling, he has finally arrived. He observes the scene as cats set up decorations and help prepare. His heart is lifted up.
"Pardon me, but this IS Sunclan, yes?" he questions another cat.
-
-
Boulderclaw sat down, watching cats scurry about him,
even as ants do. He was willing to wait until preparations were complete, although he wished he had arrived a day later.
