After the last restraint was off, I called out Kiara, my Gardevoir. "Rex, you okay here?"
(Telepathy, btw) {Yeah, boss. I'll meet you back at pur meeting spot.} He said as he caught the eevee. I heard a force palm occur as I had Kiara use teleport on Lyra and I.

(With Lyra) "Hey, I know that eevee is your friend. But if you go back there, you'll just be captured again. besides, he can't understand you, or have any real emotions, when he's a shadow pokemon. I know from experiance; my mom researches them over in Orre." I look at Kiara and nod, and she teleports away.
(with Rex) {This is all you got, eevee? I expected a shadow pokemon to be more of a challenge!} Kiara popped into existence next to him. {What? Why are you-} Rex was cut off as Cross bit into his arm, hard.
{Ahh!} Kiara screamed. {I didn't mean for that to happen, Rex!} She prepped a psybeam to launch at Cross.

(Kiara+Rex perspective)
{Is he dead..?} Kiara asked, stopping her psybeam before it was done charging.
{Let me see...} Rex concentrated for a second, closing his eyes. {No, his aura, it's still here! Watch out!}
(Lyra+My perspective.)
"So, can you tell me why Team Rocket was after you? There was a lot of hysteria at the town back there; so many people were scared of never seeing you again. I decided to find you and help." I point in a Northward direction. "That way's the town. I bet everyone will be happy to see you. And don't worry about Cross. I signaled Kiara to take him to my mother's research lab. They can get him back to normal, as long as he doesn't knock her out first."

{If you say so.} Rex said. he launched an Aura sphere at Cross, then used bone rush to knock him out.
{That was cool, Rex.} kiara said. Rex felt embarassed. {Let's get him to the lab.} Kiara teleported all three pokemon to said facility, alarming the researchers there.
(Lyra and I)
"Gift. Huh, can't be much stranger than mine. I ca-" I was cut off as my X-Tranciever rang. "Hold on- Hello?"
"Zack, Your pokemon are making a mess of my lab!"
"Sorry, mom, I'll be right there..." I sent out Ace, and climbed onto his back, offering a hand to Lyra. "Here, tell me on the way. You do want Cross to be alright, right? he'll heal faster if you're near him, I can tell."

"Lyra, I completely understand. That must be why Team Rocket chases me, too." I urge Ace to fly faster.
{Ack! I can only go so fast, Zack!}
"If you can't fly faster than Latios, what kind of god are you?"
{Arrrgh! NOBODY IS FASTER THAN ME!} and so he sped up, considerably. It wasn't long until we reached a large building near the center of the sandy Orre region. As we walked in, You could see Cross in a sort of machine, scientists rushing all around the "purification chamber."
"Anyway, Lyra, you're not alone with your power. More people than you think are capable of talking to pokemon." I walk into the inner courtyard, and set free the remainder of my pokemon to re-unite with Rex and Kiara.

OOC: hope you don't mind that little detail. It's how I am in the story i'm writing on the side, since the beginning of it.

"You're Lyra?" A voice asked. It was my mother, and she waved over to you from the lab. "Cross will be fine. just a night or two in our chamber, and back to normal he'll be."
"The sooner, the better for him, i suppose." Another voice said. Pandora, my Absol, leaped down from a shelf where she had went after saying hello to the others.
"Well, I didn't know Miss Antisocial was in here. Lyra, this is Pandora. She's unique among pokemon in the fact she speaks our language, but can't understand the Pokemon one."

Cross was sleeping peacefully in the chamber, as the darkness was literally being sucked out of him.

OOC: Whoops, sorry. just when I say it out loud, It sounded like Lyra from the show/game. it stuck, Sorry. An I promise that Pandora's the only other odd thing about my character. I swear.
IC: "it's a pleasure, I'm sure. Now, if you'll excuse me," Pandora says as she walks out, "I have a nap to take."
"She's always like that, don't worry." I say as I walk in. I glance at the screens near the machine. "And it looks like your calculations are off, mom. Cross is going to be darkness-free in about two minutes. Looks like we got him in there before it set in too deeply." I turn to Liara. "He'll be fine."

"So, when did you first figure out you could talk to pokemon? I learned when Joshua said 'leave me alone, I want to sleep.' that was about ten years ago."
the machine made a sound similar to the healing machines at pokemon centers, and my mother pulled out Cross and laid him on a table. "All we need to do now is wait for him to wake up, Liara." She said.
In the background, a small explosion occured. apparently, Ace had used wing attack on Pandora, who made fun of the fact he's an over-achiever. she used shadow ball, which resulted in the large amounts of smoke in the courtyard.

(Sorry, but how else could I mention that? I won't in the future, I promise.)
"A pokemon you have not seen ever since? What did it look like, do you remember?" I say as I pulled out my pokedex, to try to determine what it was.

"Let's see... tall, green, six legs..." I enter the information in my pokedex.
"No matching pokemon found." It said.
"That's odd. but i'm sure it will come back; pokemon have a habit of doing just that." I walk over, closer to the eevee in the room. "You feeling okay? You might feel a slight tingle or something like that as the rest of the darkness leeches out."

"Hey, sorry if Rex was too hard on you. He likes to show off in front of Kiara."
(In the distance)
{Rex, for the last time, I did not steal your hat.}
{Then how come you're wearing it, Pandora?}
{Melody gave it to me. She thought it would look better on me.}

"Argh... hold on, Liara..." I say as I walk to break up the fight. I place Rex's hat back on him, and start scolding Pandora and Melody. I end up getting flown back into the building by Pandora's shadow ball. "That... could have gone better..."

"It's great to meet you both." I say as i turn to the guildmaster, adjusting my hat. "Another timegear thief? Although, what if he's doing it for the same reason Grovyle was? You remember that whole incident, right, Staraptor?"

"Liara, just be careful if you're going to explore. We're not sure if any evil teams are in the area, especially Team Rocket. They have effectively gone under the radar." I say, shaking off the shadow ball attack.

{Hm?} Rex wondered to himself as he noticed some movement in a tree not far from the research center. {Who's there?}

I turn around, getting in an attack position. "If I could have a guess, I bet you're our thief. I really doubt you'd be stupid enough to attack two young explorers, a guildmaster, and a well-known solo explorer." I hold an aura sphere in my right hand (or is it a paw?), ready to throw if things get ugly.

"A master explorer shouldn't bully others like that. And anyway, I'd like to see proof you are one, before I lodge this aura sphere in that tiny skull of yours." I say as i step out, standing in-between Houndoom and duo of Vulpix and Buneary. The move in question is still held in my hand.

A small shape appeared on the edge of town. Before you could notice him, Rex bounded up to you, having spent some time trying to find Liara. {Ugh... Liara.... I found... you... danger...} He seemed to be in shock, having trouble breathing and talking.

{Team Rocket... they came from the trees... attacked us... They wanted Zack for the same reason they wanted you... the battle's still going on, he told me to find you, protect you...} Rex gasped, obviously due to a wound on his side. He clutched his ribs, breathing heavily. {That didn't stop a Weavile... from hitting me while i ran...}

(I have a little idea. I don't really like the vibe houndoom is giving off, so I'll just have a reason for Rex to hate him a little more.)
"Wait a minute... I think I know you... from somewhere else..." I cancel the aura sphere, and place the hand against my head. "Remember... remember... Oh, yeah. Treasure Town. Two years ago. You kidnapped that poor kirlia that had a different color. I had to rescue her, but you somehow were pardoned my officer Magnezone. I never understood why he did that."
