The summer really had flown by. She hadn't spent much time with anyone, visiting with Lissa only three or four times, maya twice, and matty only twice. it had been a good summer though, a very good summer. she was very tan, more and darker freckles covered her face, and her hair was quite a bit long, the waves reaching her mid back now. Her eyes were bright as ever, but not plagued by the harshness they had had toward the end of last year. After the incident. she and her father had spent the summer traveling, they went waterfall hunting, they flew there brooms through canyons, and hiked over wondrous mountains. it had helped her wash away the pain she had felt. she still had a nightmare here and there, but she didn't scream in her sleep anymore. much improvement.
her trip to diagon alley had been great, because the school overseas was getting a lot more funding, so her mother had a lot more money added to their gringotts vault. they were the regular rich purebloods at this point, but they act nothing of the sort. she had walked through the crazy alley with her ginger father. they had gotten all her 6th year books, and materials for potions. Along with new school robes, she had grown a couple inches, now reaching 5.7". This had led to a lot more quidditch practice in their yard to get use to her new weight, and length. It didn't take much messing around with her dad to get comfortable. She had also filled out a bit, going from no form, and all muscle, to curves with muscle definition. She still wasn't the curviest woman figure around, but she was a little less than let's say, medium.
her cheek bones had become more prominent and her jawline showing up well too, though she of course could disappear the angled look of her round face by smiling and bring those dimples out. she had gotten beautiful, not just cute anymore. though she quite liked cute. there was news of a new broom too. The Firebolt. The best broom to ever be made. And when she wrote her mother, she promised to earn a raise and get her that broom. She knew she would have to wait a few weeks into the school year, but she was getting it. All the professional teams were buying them, they looked amazing. Perfect balance, unmatched speed, and turns so quick. She could hardly wait.
Speaking of Quidditch she had gotten another badge to add to her prefect bade. Quidditch Captain. everything was going perfectly, she had gotten the owls she needed to get into the newt classes to become an auror, and she might even end up head girl. she also had been told by her father this year they were learning nonverbal spells, one of the hardest things to learn. something that took all students quite a long time to get the hang of. so she had, with her father's help, gotten permission from the ministry to practice specific spells. and while they traveled she practiced. it took her two weeks to get a simple fire casting one to work, but after that it was like the dam broke. and the day of her visit to diagon alley was when she had sort of mastered it. being able to do it 4/5 times. she was hoping to impress their new defense against the dark arts teacher, and get her house a few points.
she hadn't written to anyone beside her mother, lissa, matty, and maya. mostly the two former though. she had written lissa explaining all her travels, attaching moving pictures of the places and her in front of momuments or pretty things they found. she ended all her letters with, with love, from naia. Slowly over the summer the thing is the locket she always wore, a great present from lissa changed. it would one day out of the week show lissa, and then maybe maya, and then her fighting a dark witch, or being an auror. slowly it settled on a moving enactment of her being an auror, it seemed it was in her heart as much as her mind.
she was sort of dating maya casually now, neither of them was calling it a serious relationship, and both agreed it was open ended, but when maya did visit, she spent the night. the first time, they fell asleep cuddling after making out through most of a muggle movie. the second time, ya know... that was the last time they had visited. not that it was bad or anything, they just couldn't work anything into their schedule. maya wasn't the first person Naia had dated. she had dated a slytherin....yeah, first year named trevor. he had had blonde hair, blue eyes, and they kissed twice, once on the cheek before she broke up with him for making fun of a half-blood. she had dated tracy, while she was in third year, tracy was a second year, and they both practiced how to kiss a lot. she had broke up with naia because she knew naia didn't like her anymore. that was when, still third year naia dated Christian, a dark-skinned boy with an accent, who she had dated well into fourth year. she broke up with him when he wanted to get serious and wouldn't take no for an answer. she hadn't dated anyone for real since then, maya being the first. and that's why she was being careful.
now she sat on the train before grinning and standing up, "Oh. I gotta head up to the Prefect carts, and then patrol the hallways. I'll see if I can get back to sit with you guys. Maybe get me a couple chocolate frogs? and some coconut ice? That stuff's the best." She grinned, kissing them both on the cheek before heading out into the hallway. She started walking up to the front of train to get her instructions, and find out how long she had to patrol the hallways. On her way she saw an enchanted frog being hovered over a girl's head by a giggling fourth year boy. She whipped out her wand and sent it flying back at him before scowling at him. In truth she found it kind of funny, but very rude.
Charles wasn't even on the train, she had sent a letter to her mom a day ago, and that was a long flight. the owl would know to meet her at hogwarts though. she was quite excited, and wondering if she would run into lissa on the way to the prefect carts, or with the other prefects.
