Flameblade frowned, and left camp, coat still damp. Snow was pouring from the uniform gray sky, and he felt like a kit again, leaping for snowflakes, alone without anyone to make fun of him. The river bend was up ahead, and he looked for his favorite oak tree. Swarming up it, he sat down in a forked branch and dozed off, relaxed and happy to be alone.
