[Just found this thread. ;; Sorry.]

The deputy pricked her ears at her words. But before her leader could take a few steps forward, she swished her tail out in front of her. "Wait",She mewed, pausing again to lift her head. A few moments later she nodded to Featherstar. "Someone is . . . Close by. I can feel it.",She mewed quietly. "We might just appear as a threat if we go barging through their territory -making strange scents appear and scaring off their prey." She swished her spotted abalaster tail around her paws and shook her head once more. "Hello?",She called out, eyes halfway closed.

The smoky mau was trying to eliminate a very tempting dream of thoughtful pursuing. She wanted to wake up, yet the dream was alused and so vivid she mixed it with reality. But somehow she managed to wake up.

Opening up a silver-tinted eye, the femme faintly heard her name being called. She rolled around a bit as she stretched, ruffling a few furs on her head. The deputy stood up and padded out of the cozy den.

Shaking off the harsh glare of the misty sun's rays, the weaved her way through the already-awakening warriors over to stand beside Featherstar -nodding before she did so to the Solarclan leader.

"Need me?",She murmured, looking past her "glam" morning self to the cat in front of her. She peered through at the medicine cat with startlingly bright aqua eyes and shook her head. "You look like you need a moon's worth of rest Lilysnow.",She mewed.

Her face suddenly became more grim as she looked past that fact to her appearance. Apart from the shadowy eyes, the cat looked more gaunt -more scrawny- than usual. She tipped her head and peered one eye while the other laid wide open -both having the inquisitive look.

"Are you feeling ok?",She mewed once more, choosing her words carefully.

The deputy winced as Featherstar told Lilysnow to stop her profession. Baiting might've gone too far. But the medicine cat seemed to be taking it quite well. So Cinderflight let it lay alone. When she pointed to the apprentice she smiled and gestured towards the cat with her tail.

She caught the apprentice's gaze but before she could call her over Featherstar snapped the words from her mouth. She padded behind her and came to sit beside Breakpaw at her nervous words. "It's ok, dear. You did nothing wrong.",She mewed softly.

The smoky cat flicked her tail over to Lilysnow, blue eyes gleaming as she caught Featherstar's raking gaze sweep over her. "Would you care to help out in the medicine den? Lilysnow would sure appreciate it. She chose you herself.",She mewed with a faint smirk crawling onto her wary expression. So not a good combination. Especially when you had an angry leader breathing down your neck.

She sat back up, keeping her posture straight. Her tail wrapped around her paws, a smile on her face. Already so soon into her full medicine cat -ness and Tigerlily was ready for an apprentice. The deputy gave a faint nod to the medicine cat, although she wasn't the one to be speaking.

Sometimes you had to take control of the situation.

The smoky mau nodded in satisfaction at the new scene. Softly she put her tail on the apprentice's shoulders and smiled directly at her -eyes warm and everything. After a few moments the femme edged away from the cats and padded after Featherstar, following her until she matched her stride-for-stride.

"Help . . .",She smile at that word. "Have I ever been anything but, now?",She mewed with a smirk. "So of course i'll help you, Featherstar. What is it that you need?"

Besides . . . well, watching cats the deputy was very pleased with her answer. With a small tip of her head, though, her mind swerved to think she was being too full of herself. The deputy shook her head. Steel blue eyes met the leader's crystalized ones with the smile of an old foe.

"I'm here to help.",She mewed boldly.

The deputy nodded, listening eagerly as the speech went on. After a pause of a few seconds, she found it safe to speak. Dipping her head, the she-cat murmured a small reply to the leader. "Who do you suggest?"

She looked up and followed her own path of vision around camp, remembering cats who looked well and the others who were too frail to be out. After a long moment, she looked up once again at Featehrstar. "Before I go, I have a suggestion,",She began.

"The clan is clearly suffering. And we need to do something to brighten everyone's spirits before we go out and try to get them to do something. So why not . . ." A glimmer appeared in her eyes as she had a certain thought.

"Why don't we make Bunnytail's kits apprentices. And while we're doing it, get Dappleflower's litter their warrior names. That should put a burst of energy into the cats." She took a deep breath before another thought appeared in the front of her mind. "Plus, we could take one or two of the apprentices out on the patrol. You know, to find Iri and show them the territory. Young cats like to go on . . missions.",She finished, gazing up at her.

She nodded, not daring to reply and went off to wake the few resting cats up. When she ducked her head into the apprentice's den, she could only make out the skinny heap of Lilysnow. She softened her eyes at the sight. "Sleep well, my friend",She murmured.

Turning, she stepped into the den she had just come out of what felt like moments ago. She turned to prod the remaining cats before slipping out, sure that they would follow. She slunk off to the nursery and found it was empty.

Well, except for a few friendly kits.

Cinderflight smiled at the sight of them and beckoned at them with her long, spotted tail. ""Come kits. It's about time you got your mentors.",She mewed with a grin. Then she slunk out, encouraging them to follow. Maybe one of them would be her own apprentice. The cat didn't put much thought to it.

Cinderflight smiled at the two new warriors. With a glance full of love she turned to her grandson and casted him a warm smile. Then the deputy twitched around to focus her gaze back onto Featherstar, slightly flicking Tigerlily with her tail as she saw the way she was looking at Whitepaw. Then she remembered the three were related. So it seemed to both work out perfectly fine. And what bautiful names! A spire. . . . it went with the faint swirls on Cherryspire's pelt that made her a tabby. And Whiteshine was the Starclan-given name for the gorgeous white chinchila. Steel blue eyes turned to gaze at the crowd before her.

Oh how sometimes she wished shecould do this as deputy. .

The she-cat jumped at the sound. It was . . . so close. So very close. She could've sworn their wait would be longer. Perhaps that had just lucked out. The speckled mau moved backwards a bit to give Featherstar the upper position. But she did nod towards the cat. And took a chance at speaking. "Are you Lilystar?",She mewed.

Cinderflight nodded with approval. Hopefully the ceremony would cheer the kits up. They would always be loved by the whole clan, and a mentor could teach them just that. The speckled mau smiled in satisfaction as her steel blue eyes gleamed. The day was just getting better and better.
