Northpaw nodded to Leopardfur and Ravenclaw."Don't they make a cute couple?"she whispered to Mousepaw.

Runningspirit ran frantically,looking for a patch of solid ground.She felt her paws get stuck in something,and she slowly began to sink.
Windyclouds spotted Runningspirit among the fleeing cats with her paws stuck in the quicksand."NO!"he screeched,grabbing Runningspirit by the scruff of the neck and pulling as hard as he could.

Windyclouds dragged Runningspirit out of the quicksand."Follow me,"he instructed her.
Runningspirit followed Windyclouds."Where are we going?"she questioned.
Windyclouds paused and turned to Runningspirit."Someplace safe.We'll die if we stay out here."

Windyclouds ran into the cave,Runningspirit trailing right behind him.

Windyclouds nodded."Thanks for letting us stay."
Runningspirit looked out of the entrance of the cave."Where did all of this quicksand come from,anyway?"

Windyclouds shook his head."But where will we move?"he mewed.
"We don't have anywhere to go,"Runningspirit added.

"I guess that's true,"Windyclouds mewed."But what about prey?We need something to eat."
"And herbs,"Runningspirit added."How will the medicine cat treat cats without herbs?"

Windyclouds curled up on the hard stone floor of the cave.
Runningspirit sat up."It's cold in here,"she complained quietly.

Mousepaw lowered his head."When are we going to become warriors?"he whispered to Northpaw.
Northpaw gave Mousepaw a friendly nudge and purred."When you learn how to stop making so much noise while you're hunting!StarClan must have heard that racket!"

Runningspirit curled up next to Windyclouds.
Windyclouds slept quietly.

"Catmint,"Riverpaw mewed,nodding to the leaves on the ground.

"Okay,"Riverpaw mewed."What do we need?"

Runningspirit prodded Windyclouds with a paw."I can't sleep,"she mewed quietly."I'm scared.What if the quicksand reaches here,too?"
Windyclouds stretched."I don't think that it can swallow up rock as easily as it did the ground,"he meowed quietly,yawning."We're safe for now."

Mousepaw looked around the camp.So many couples,he thought.Mousepaw looked at Northpaw suspiciously."Don't even think about it,"he mewed,blushing.
Northpaw giggled."I wasn't."

"You dooo!"Runningspirit teased,grinning.
Windyclouds closed his eyes and resumed sleeping.

Runningspirit stood up and stretched."I'm going to go get some moss,"she muttered."I'd rather sleep on bedding than a cold stone floor."
Windyclouds opened his eyes halfway."Can you get me some moss,too?"he mumbled,half-asleep.

Blazestorm stalked a mouse.
