Riverpaw smiled at her mentor's praise."What next?"

As Stormpaw dropped her catch on the fresh-kill pile,she saw Jaystar dragging a dead dog into camp."How did he catch that?"she thought.

Stormpaw blinked."Where did you find it?There could be other dogs nearby."

Runningspirit looked up."Streamheart!Softeyes!Icebreath!"she chanted,along with Windyclouds.

"Oh,"Stormpaw mewed,sighing in relief.

Mousepaw sliced open the coyote's throat.It slumped onto the ground,dead.

"We're going to eat the dog?"Stormpaw thought."I hope it tastes better than I think it will."

"It does?"Stormpaw mewed."Okay,I guess I'll try it..."

Stormpaw hesitated for a moment,then took a bite out of the dog."It actually isn't that bad,"she mewed with her mouth full.

Dawn began to bathe her light cream pelt.
Dusk dropped a vole on the fresh-kill pile and padded into the corner of camp.She curled up and began napping.

Dawn's ears perked up."Dying?!"she meowed,shocked.
Dusk looked up."What happened?"
