    Denise Verae
Ship Wreck at Long Island Sound

I laughed, although his stern gaze told me this was a serious matter. "A demigod? Those are like half human, half god, right? But that's only a myth! You seriously think that I'm going to believe that I'm the daughter of one of those gods or godesses? That was in Greece! That can't be true."

~That's far from the truth.. Or is it?~

Ok.. So my dad wanted to go fishing one day. We climbed onto our boat and isolated ourselves a few miles or so from the shore. I don't know how long we waited, but it felt like an eternity before I asked my dad the question if there were even fish lurking in these waters. He was pretty sure that there were because there was a huge snake like creature he spotted when he went boating the other day.

That doesn't sound like a fish.

I asked if we could look for fish somewhere else, but he insisted on staying. We strained to see anything that looked like fish in those dark murky waters. I was pretty sure people didn't even go boating here.

And it also turns out that not only sharks live in the ocean.

"Dad!" I shouted as the boat tilted sickeningly sideways, rocking violently back and forth. I caught his hand as he almost fell off the edge. With difficulty, I tried pulling him up, but I watched in shock as he splashed into the water. He sputtered a bit, but otherwise he was okay as he started swimming towards the boat. I could see a long, cold slimy body wrapping itself around the boat. I grabbed my chair and smacked it with it, but it only continued coiling itself again and again. What's going on? What is that thing?! My dad's expression changed from relief to shock as it looked like he was being pulled downward. I attempted to reach for his hand again, but he suddenly disappeared from sight. He must've gotten dragged underwater! I was breathing hard now, my brain trying to process what I saw. As the nose of the boat tipped downwards, a huge head sprouted out of the water, with fins, gills, and monstrous fangs. It was a sea serpent. A really big one. And it had my dad in its mouth. It narrowed its eyes at me as if I looked like another nice piece of prey.
"Help! Someone, please!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Someone has to come. Or else my dad is fish food.

x3 I jumbled a whole bunch of letters together and put spaces between the original words. It used to say, 'Hi my name is Tanya.')

Don't think I wait for someone else. It sickens me to see someone waiting for someone else to rescue them when they're obviously dying. I really hate those movies.
My eyes darted back and forth, looking for something that might get it to release him. They rested on my dad's line cutter. Bingo, I thought. I grabbed it and wrenched it into the serpent's gut. It smacked its large tail-fin at me, knowing better than to let go of its prey. I was knocked backwards, almost falling into the unknown depths of the water. Luckily, the boat had railings. I grasped onto it as the boat proceeded to jerk fiercely and got quickly to my feet again, trying to stabilize myself on the leaning deck of the vessel.

I glanced briefly at my surroundings, waiting to see if the sea serpent to make a move. It looked like my dad passed out right now, although I wasn't very sure. He only passes out when things don't look very good. And the odds right now are looking grim.
Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a girl heading for my boat.. On skates? What the heck is that? I blinked my eyes rapidly, trying to find out if I was hallucinating. It didn't look like I was.. Which is what they all say.
The serpent found its opportunity to strike with me distracted. It slapped me again, this time with more impact. I felt its fin hit my chest, and I stumbled backwards, panting hard. Gritting my teeth, I slammed the table onto its slippery snake-like body, trying to distract it. To make my dad fall out of its mouth. But it just hit me again, watching me in pleasure like I had already seen my dad digested.

The sea serpent glared at something and shook its head furiously. I looked behind me to see a guy standing on deck with a sword in hand. I seriously thought I was having mental issues now. All of a sudden, I felt kind of stupid looking like I was helpless, so I flung the nearby fishing rod. It bounced harmlessly off of the serpent like I expected, but it made the creature a bit more irritated."Who are you?" I asked, quickly standing up.

I watched the serpent suddenly dive down, unwrapping it body and slowly slithering into the water as the boat bobbed slowly. It flung my dad on deck. I breathed in relief. Dad. I looked at my dad, and glanced at these.. strangers. "I think we'll be fine now," I answered. "Thanks." I gazed at the newcomers and sighed. So this is a bit awkward.. Three people right there who at least tried to save my life, and I really wasn't sure what to do. After a bit of silence, I spoke up. "Um.. Is this usually normal for you?" I asked, not knowing what else to say.

"The Mist?" I repeated. I put my hands in my pockets. "If you could explain what that is, I'd be happy to answer that." I thought a moment more. Seeing that he could be connecting this with the little "event" earlier, I replied, "If you mean if I could see that huge monster over there, well ya. I'm not blind, you know. I could see it as clearly as I can see everyone right now." That was an odd question.. I raised my eyebrow when he squinted at me. "Well, I don't really know much about my mom.. Besides that she was a great magician. Dad says she disappeared one day.." she said, answering his second question. "Never came back." He really didn't mention much about her, the more I dug deeper into my mind.. Why did she never come back? Wait.. I blinked. Do these questions really have any importance to anything?

Mortal? Demonic? Camp? I sighed. You're kidding. I guess Dad was right about Greece and all.. That I'm special somehow. So I'm guessing that I'm not a human? I listened to a bit of their conversation. Apparently not. I crossed my arms. "I don't see the point of going with any of you if my dad doesn't get a proper medicinal treatment or a checkup. For goodness sake, he was dropped by a monster. Count for an injury?" I clearly didn't see the point of this little argument. Was this camp for V.I.Ps or something? If not, I didn't see why my dad couldn't be let in.

    (Accepted.
It's fine. Next time, try to choose a better time to RP, preferably when you're not babysitting. :b)

I rolled my eyes. You think? Well obviously, of course I knew that. "I didn't think it would apply to every single one of them."
I smiled a bit as I gazed at the pegasi. "I think I'll be fine. Just hang on real tight, right? I don't think that would be a problem." At least I hope not.. I brushed my dirt brown colored hair out of my face.

I think I was fine until Shade wanted to catch up with Lyle and Aramis. She started out slowly, stretching her wings to catch the oncoming breezes. I had to balance and steady myself a few times, but the ride was rather smooth. But when the pegasus circled back to wait for us, I think that's when she had the urge to pick up the pace. "Whoa!" I exclaimed, surprised by her sudden burst of speed. I grasped my mane tightly on accident, and she snorted angrily. "Sorry.." was my small apology. "It's hard to stay on when you're going so fast."

Soon Shade and I touched down on the shore. I got off of her back and brushed myself off, glancing at the vast ocean from where we came from. I gently stroked Shade's mane, unsure what other places horses liked to be stroked. I would've given her a little treat, but I didn't have one in hand at the time. "Well that was quite a ride," I said, observing the area with my two blue orbs.

(Sorry for being inactive. I was busy.)

"That would be nice," I replied as I followed Lyle with Shade trailing shortly behind. I gazed at where we we heading to. It was a huge house painted sky blue, clearly with activity going on from inside as I spotted a figure moving past the windows. Hmm.. So this is camp? I thought. So small. But this is probably not even half of it. "So, is this camp?" I asked him.

(Bringing up a new character in a moment. And it's not Denise's dad.
Would you like me to play Chiron and Dionysus? Or would you like to RP one or both of them?)

"That's fine, usually I can handle it," I responded, rolling my eyes at one kid before hurrying to the door. Campers crowded around the Big House, was it? To probably examine me or something. I don't know what they thought about me, but I didn't care. Everyone's a newbie at one point in their life, and they've got to respect that.
After finally reaching the door after almost drowning in a sea of curious people, I knocked on the door. "Hello?" Could we come in?"

(This font will be the second person perspective of the man lying on the boat.)

He looked up at the two teens who had rescued him. He had been expecting this, but he was surprised to see it come this soon. He drew a long deep breath, before sitting up. "So you're taking me to see my daughter, correct? How come I'm not permitted to cross camp borders?" he questioned, interrupting their conversation. He knew it might be a lot to ask too soon, but it was likely that they would get the sense that he had known. He thought back to when he had been dropped and blacked out. If I had figured out that was a monster, I might be able to be with my daughter for just a bit more. The pain came back, but luckily with little intensity for he was numbed. He waited expectantly for their reply.

    (Low muse...)

I heard the reply "You may come in," and then swung the door wide. I peered inside before stepping in. What caught my eye was a ping pong table next to a fireplace, littered with cards and cheese curls. I looked up to see two men returning my gaze. I was too stunned for a second to say anything. I looked at Lyle before glancing back at them.
"Well hurry up, we don't have all day," the guy in a leopard printed shirt said impatiently. The other one cleared his throat, replying, "Mr.D, I believe we have a new undetermined camper."
"Well don't expect me to be happy to see you," he grumbled, examining me.

"Then that means there is some way to see her," he pressed. "I've got to talk to her."

"I noticed," he mumbled. "So welcome to Camp Half-Blood and blah blah blah blah." He sighed, tapping his fingers on the table. "I don't don't know how many more of these twerps I can handle."
The middle aged man gave me an apologetic look. "Him coming to camp was a punishment," he explained, as if that made any sense to me.
"I would've been up there on Olympus if my father didn't sentence me." Mr.D made a can of Coca-Cola appear on the table and took a sip of it. "For now, I can drink anything except for alcohol."
"Wait a moment," I interrupted, thinking through this. "So.. You're Dionysus?"
"Who else?" Mr.D waved his hand, as if waiting for applause. "I thought you would've figured out by now." He observed Lyle.
"Now you, you I'm still angry at," he said. "I would've turned you into a dolphin until Chiron convinced me not to. Not that it wouldn't be fun," he mused.

"Playing smart, are you? It's amazing that you can actually keep your mouth shut after I threatened to turn you into an aquatic animal." Mr.D paused. "You could always return to your father, if you knew where his palace was, but he wouldn't be so happy to see me." He glanced at Chiron."I think that's really it." His attention returned to me. "What are you waiting for? A reception? You can both go now. Shoo!"
I looked at Lyle and motioned him to get out of the room. Before I turned to leave, Chiron grabbed my wrist. I could see now that he was in a wheelchair. "If you need any help, you can also ask me or any of the other campers. They'd be glad to help." he whispered in my ear. "And I apologize for Mr. D's behavior. He isn't in a good mood right now." He smiled at me and let go. I glanced back at Chiron before closing the door.
"Well.. That was strange.." I said slowly.

I looked back at the huge blue house before following Lyle. Wow, this place is big, I thought as my eyes darted from place to place. There were also other creatures such as satyrs, dryads, and nymphs frolicking about. Too focused on my surroundings, I accidentally bumped into somebody. "Sorry!"

(First person perspective of Laura Rain, daughter of Apollo.)

The jolt of someone bumping into me made me fall down. I heard a surprised "Sorry!" before looking up to see a girl with brown hair and blue eyes. She didn't look like she was from camp before. She helped pull me up. "You okay?"
"I guess," I answered. I stared at her for a moment. "New to camp?"
"Yeah.." she replied. "Just got here and went to that huge blue house.."
"Why'd you go to the Big House? Get into trouble early?" I smiled playfully.
"Well, I'm following Lyle around, if you know who he is."
"Oh, Lyle.." I shook my head. That son of Poseidon. "So you have a guide."
She looked around. "Yeah. Well, I've really got to go now-"
"Wait, before you go, name's Laura."
"Denise!" she said before dashing off.
I waved my hand although I couldn't see her anymore. "See you at campfire.." People are always so busy these days. I chuckled to myself before going into my cabin.
