"I wasn't going crazy!" Ivy snapped.
    Watch your tone.
"And YOU be quiet!" Oops, Cloudgaze probably thought she meant him. Oh well, he could shut up too for all she cared.
"Count to 3?" she suggested, readying herself to jump on her back.

OOC: Had a thought. We should make a deputy in case Soulstar ends up being kicked out of the clan. Otherwise we'll have no leader XD Anarchy FTW!!!!!
Anyhoo, let's say....Wait, wait, wait. Hold on. Saturn is calling Soulstar a GUY, I'm calling it a GIRL, you haven't referred to Soulstar as either. JUST WHAT GENDER IS THIS CAT?!
    And for a deputy:
    Tom.
    Grey tabby. Green eyes.
    Dustfoot. Soon-to-be Duststar! (Maybe.)

Ivypaw shot out of the foliage from the other side, clambering up the rocks in an instant, and was on Soulstar before he/she even knew what happened. But the leader was quick to react. He/she hadn't been a leader all this time for nothing. Soulstar struck out, knocking Ivypaw down a rock. Scampering back up, she tried circling the cat quickly to disorient him/her.
Soulstar snapped at the air near Ivypaw, who ducked and jumped for his/her back.
It didn't work. Soulstar's legs were simply too long for the small apprentice. Instead, Soulstar used it as a chance to strike; clawing Ivypaw hard, making her tumble down the sunning rock and hit the ground hard.

OOC: Brb. Well, maybe not right back. Actually, I don't know if I'll be able to get back on after this. So, uh, in the chances of me not being able to come back on (the chances are high) let's do this:

Ivypaw hit the ground, dead weight. The slashes on her side hurt horribly, but not as much as her pride, especially since that ever-present voice wouldn't leave her alone as she faded in and out of consciousness.
Look at you, lying there. Useless. How pathetic. You couldn't take down a single cat. I thought you were tougher based on your fighting skills with the WindClan patrol.
It was a LEADER, Ivypaw thought back. A leader...
A leader! The voice seemed to be laughing at her pain and misery. Oooh, how terrifying.
The voice grew serious as her consciousness left her.
Get serious, Ivypaw. Your emotions, your feelings, your FRIENDS. What good are they to you? Do you want everyone to get hurt....again? Work harder, Ivypaw. I know you can do it. Be stronger than this. It's for the best, isn't it? If you don't....
Ivypaw didn't hear the last part as her mind finally slipped into sweet, unconscious, oblivion.

OOC: I just love writing 'the voice'. It's just enjoyable to write a mysterious, detached voice in all italics. And plus, it's got such a fun personality. So mean and taunting.
Does this make me a bad person?

Gotta go everyone. See ya tomorrow, if not earlier, hopefully.

OOC: Oooh thalassophobia! (no, I didn't magically know the name for phobia of bodies of water. I googled it XD) I can understand why, his past and all. Hmm, could be an idea. We'll see tomorrow, as I can't do anything more right now.

OOC: Hmm, I was thinking and maybe...Maybe Cloudgaze does get thrown into the water, and Ivypaw saves him, just gets him pushed to land, when the current -and exhaustion- sweep her away. So it's like a she's sacrificing herself to save a friend, and in return, Cloudgaze has to face his fears to rescue her??
What do you think Stoogey? Just an idea....

Ivypaw's eyes opened, thin blue slits. Groggily, she struggled to sit up, move, or something. Why was her nest so hard? Had she wiggled out and ended up on the hard den floor? Ivypaw rolled from her side to her stomach, opening her eyes fully, taking in the surroundings.
Painful reality hit her, both in her mind, and in her wounded side. Wobbly, like a kit walking for the first time, she tottered to her feet, trying to get her bearings.
She was in the sunning rocks; but what part? And where was Cloudgaze and Soulstar?
All of a sudden, Ivypaw heard hissing behind her, and turned to see the brawl still going on.
Soulstar was going to be darting back up the sunning rocks to where Indigogrip was, but then he/she stopped, something catching Soulstar's attention.
Instead of going after Indigogrip, Soulstar turned and stared at something behind Ivypaw, a sinister smile forming. What was it?
Ivypaw turned around. She saw the river, winding along, the barrier to what she assumed would be RiverClan. That was when she saw what Soulstar was staring at, grinning evilly, and her stomach migrated to her toes.
A few fox leaps from the river's edge stood Cloudgaze.

OOC: I couldn't quite figure out where Cloudgaze actually WAS, so I just put him a little ways from the river. Oh so conveniently. Hope you don't mind...

Ivypaw gaped at Cloudgaze's orange fur as it slowly sunk into the water. Then, she shook herself out of her stupor and set her paws moving.
    No.
Ivypaw ignored the ridiculous voice. Somewhere, deep in her mind, she was thinking, Cloudgaze was drowning and it was obviously her fault. Probably the misfortune that came from her 'scared apprentice' act earlier that day. She should have been more careful.
But this idiot was not going to die on her watch. Her parents, her brother - but no. Not him.
    LEAVE HIM.
    Never.
Ivypaw skidded to a stop as Soulstar stood in front of her menacingly. No, not now, she was running out of time! Cloudgaze was running out of time! Ivypaw backed up - her only choice- and Soulstar grinnined. And Ivypaw started running - Soulstar's eyes widened - and she flew right under her belly, crouching as her head skimmed Soulstar's underbelly, using her height to her advantage.
Without a second thought, Ivypaw leapt towards the river- and WAIT. Her paws churned, trying to somehow stop her fall and get back to dry land, but she continued to stare, as though in slow-motion, as the dark waters rose to meet her. Because Ivypaw had been a stray in the city. Where there were no rivers or lakes.
Ivypaw....had no CLUE how to swim.

OOC: Haha, very nice, very nice. *applauds* Good job Cloudgaze, you saved Ivypaw!

The last thing Ivypaw had seen before going under was something orange. It took her a moment before she realized it was that idiot coming back to get her. Was he crazy?! What was he doing?! He should've just stayed where he was, at least ONE of them could'v lived!
She was losing consciousness now. And she was so COLD. This must be her payment for her family's lives, right? Something....was tugging....her fur now.....churning...paws.....Cloudga.....

Ivypaw took in a hitched breath, before going into a long coughing fit, ridding her chest of river water. Her lungs and throat burned horribly - the worst sore throat of her life. Ivypaw was soaked and cold, and the gashes in her side were being bipolar. They couldn't seem to decide whether the cold water helped, or if all the coughing made it hurt. It decided on pain. Her head hurt and when she opened her eyes, the lights were too bright and the world spun. Ivypaw closed her eyes again, before opening them once more. Everything was still somewhat distorted, but she definitely recognized the figure next to her. Cloudgaze.
"You-" she started, but broke off coughing once more. Ivypaw took in a deep, burning breathe of air. Sweet air.
Ivypaw tried again, her voice weak and raspy. "You.....you.....IDIOT!"

OOC: Ivypaw....wow. Just wow. He saves your life, and the best you can do is get mad and call him an idiot. But, she wouldn't be Ivypaw if she were nice, would she? XD

    OOC: XD Fail, Cloudgaze. Fail.

Ivypaw was surprised when Cloudgaze didn't retort. But....something wasn't right. His eyes were wide and panicked and his breathing sounded all wrong.
"Cloudgaze?" she asked hoarsely. No response, his breath just seemed to get faster and faster.
"Cloudgaze?!" her voice came out loud and panicked, startling herself. Ivypaw dimly realized that she was on her feet now, the world trying to tilt and make her slide back into the river. Ivypaw breathed in and out slow until the world righted itself again. The way Cloudgaze looked, helpless and frightened, it scared her somewhere deep inside. This is my fault she thought. If I hadn't gone all emotional, if I hadn't jumped in the river....She shook her head and shoved her face right in his.
"CLOUDGAZE!" she shrieked. Ouch. That seriously hurt her vocal chords, particularly in the state they were already in. "PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, IDIOT!" Was it because they had almost drowned?
"We're out of the water now, stupid, so stop freaking out! Gosh dang it Cloudgaze, you're such a MORON sometimes!!!!!"

OOC: Never ceasing with the insults and name calling. Oh, Ivypaw. This is probably the most expression she's ever showed through her voice and tone though XD Cloudgaze got her seriously scared and worried. Which of course, after it's all over, she has time to think about it, her 'voice' has a chance to twist all of this in her mind....
I have a feeling it will all seriously backfire.

OOC: Wow, Stoogey, you're so nice to your characters. Unlike me.
It's fun to reduce my characters to a shell of their former, cheerful selves by crushing their worlds and everything they knew and loved, and then bring them back to utmost happiness in a lovely way.
    Ahem.

Ivypaw stood there, fur puffed up, angry and panting, looking somewhat reminiscent of a fierce lion cub. (Simba!! :D *starts singing* The ciiiiiircle of liiiife! -_- I'm too tired for my own good XD)
"I'm glad you're back to your usual, idiotic self," she snapped. "Do you have any...any idea of how stupid it was to come back for me?! You could have been KILLED!" Her eyes were brimmed with tears that were ready to spill over, a sight not many cats saw (and lived to tell the tale lol). "I was so worried that you would- would-" Her voice cracked as a sob racked her small form. "This is my fault, you almost died, and it's all MY fault!"

Ivypaw ignored his moronic attempt at a joke and turned away. Just as fast and sudden as they appeared, her tears vanished.

Look at you. First, you almost let Cloudgaze drown. Trying to save him almost killed him instead. And now what are you doing? CRYING. Like a baby. The voice turned mocking. Don't cry, don't get angry. Be strong. Right little Ivypaw? You don't want to let your mother down, do you? Look at what's happened every time you disobeyed those words. You put everyone in danger. You cry because you were...worried. Being close to Cloudgaze is only making things worse isn't it? You realize what you have to do, don't you Ivypaw? Hurt him. Make him hate you. Push him away.

    "No," she whispered.

But...you don't want to HURT him...do you? Look what happened today. Next time, it might be worse. Here's an idea. Try SMILING. You're never HAPPY, are you? But if you ACT happy all the time, then those other emotions, all those negative, bad emotions, can't come out. You'll never be actually showing your real feelings. Make sense?

As much as Ivypaw hated to admit it...the voice's idea was reasonable. More than that, it really made sense. Ok, she agreed. I'll...try it.

Good, good. Fake it 'till you make it, Ivypaw.
