"Your head?" Nell considered, then snapped her fingers. "I know! I have just the thing!"

Grinning, she sprang to her feet and scrambled towards one side of the wall. "It took me AGES to learn how to do that, you know. Snap my fingers, I mean. Tas showed me how, but I learned it on my own. He says that it's good practice for strong fingers-ooh, here it is!"

She pried a small piece of metal off the wall, revealing a compartment underneath. "I get bad headaches, so they send down medicine for it. I only get them every once in a while, though-more is supposed to be bad for me. But sometimes bad people like the nasty lady take it away, so I've been saving up a stash. Come to think of it, I always need it after she comes down here. She's just that nasty, she gives people headaches. Anyways, you can have some of mine! They really work, you know. You should feel better in no time if you just have one."

"No landmarks? No directions?" Wither frowned. "Nothing like that?"

"Do you have any better ideas?" Frondpaw asked.

"Well, if all we have are vague legends, we might overshoot or miss it completely." He shook his head. "Does this warrior of yours know the stories? He's the closest we'll have to a guide..."

    [Who roleplays Torchpelt?]

"It's not serious." Rya assured her. "He's just exhausted. Probably overextended himself."

"That's what she said!" Anna sang, flaring her wings and fanning them slightly.

Bane found himself on the same level as the girl he had rescued-or captured, depending on how you looked at it-which was a bit of a surprise for him. Though there seemed to be grass poking his eye, his other one was provided with a good look at her for the first time.

Pretty, that was for sure. Blonde, maybe, but not in the infamous airhead sort of way. She looked a lot more serene, lying on the ground. Probably getting her bearings-though that was an odd way to do it.

Definitely a Witch or an Oracle. That didn't explain the Source in her, though. And how it was so much stronger than any living creature should be. Or why it changed color.

But looking at her now, his first instinct was to assume she didn't have so much as a trace of the precious magic in her. She was too peaceful, at one with herself and nothing else. There was nothing else in her soul... she didn't have that longing. She had never felt the rush of true power. That was something that very few truly ever had.

She was an enigma, that was for sure. Lucky for him, he had time to puzzle it out.

He winced as a jolt of pain shot up his hand. "Geez, watch it."

"Sorry." Rya apologized, but didn't stop the rush of silver sparks she was gently using to mend his wounds. "Whatever you did, you've hurt it in very unusual ways. It's bound to hurt."

"Yeah, dude, what the heck did you do?" Anna demanded.

    "Don't ask." Bane muttered.

"Come on. Let us in on it." she urged.

    "I'm serious. Don't."

"Who did what?" Wither demanded. "Are you serious?"

"Oh, no!" Frondpaw gasped. "That's terrible! That's-"

"Pathetic." grumbled the tomcat. "Not to mention completely stupid. For one, he could well get eaten out there. And for two, we're sort of leaving! Right now! Couldn't he have done this a few days ago, if ever?"

"And just who put you in charge?" Wither demanded.

"Both of you!" Frondpaw said, exasperated. "Why not just go? We can pick him up on the way. He won't have eaten his herbs, but it's better than nothing."

"He didn't go north." the tomcat pointed out. "That's a huge detour."

    "You have any better ideas?"

Wither sighed, flicking his tail in irritation. "Stupid kit... this is a complete waste of time. We'll lose a good five hours of daylight and we'll be way out of our way. Honestly... couldn't he just throw a temper tantrum here?"

"You weren't very sensitive to him before." Frondpaw pointed out.

"Can you blame me? That thing was driving me crazy!" he snapped back. "I mean really! I could swear he's going out of his way JUST to torment me. Even when he's not here he manages to waste time and force everyone to baby him! If it weren't so irritating and ridiculous, I would almost be impressed!"

    Dat avatar.
    I love dat avatar. >w<

IC: Bane blinked, startled out of his thoughts. Observant, though. Not so zoned as she seems...

"You're an Oracle, correct?" he asked. Might as well get that question out of the way, even if the answer was obvious. And impossible, too-Witches didn't have Source. They weren't meant to have Source. And yet this one was still glowing-a good thing he had his senses turned down to conserve energy. Impossible.

    Strange. Intriguing. A possible asset.

    Very, very strange indeed.

    Ooooh, that was AWESOME.
I'm VERY tempted to make Zoe... but I should probably stop making characters...
Ah, screw it. >w< I'll make her.
    Consider her approved! XD

She has history only she knows and some other people. i won't discribe the people becuse it will give away her history.discribe her talent like she can fly with the wings? ok ill change it a little.and Brave is her pretty much only friend.

    Well, she can't get accepted without History, so she's out of luck. c;
Right. So she has wings, then? No random power popping up later?
And having an animal as a companion usually requires a reason for it. Generally that means being a Communicator.

"Oh, don't worry! It helps with everything." Nell assured her. "Sometimes I get random headaches, but some aren't random. Like when I got sick once-the people gave me something that made my head feel all muggy. So I think it should work with your muggy head, too!"

[I did. I just can't seem to find the muse to post. >w<]

"What about Torchpelt?" Frondpaw called after her helplessly.

"Who cares who it is?" Wither flicked his tail in irritation. "Just grab a warrior and let's go. We're going to waste a lot of time, so we might as well get it over with now. Unless we can just leave him out there, which to be honest I wouldn't mind doing. We need to go fast to make up for all the time that kit is going to waste."

    Bane will be all... whaaaaaaaatdafuk?
Then he'll probably start either laughing or clapping. Or both.

Oooh, Anna is gonna FREAK about this.
I'm not kidding. I might have her start panicking at one point.
Rya will be like 'it's OKAY, you can sing' and she'll be all DUDE ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I DON'T SING! THIS IS BULL! BULL I TELL YOU! OHMAIGOD THEY'RE ALL GOING TO LAUGH AT ME-
And Abagail will... I don't even know. XD
But I know what Anna's going to suggest she does in return.
I think you'll laugh when you see it. >w<

    Ace--
Nope. >w< You wanna PM me and we'll chat plots?

    Jilly-
Yes, it is. If it comes down it it, we have to make sacrifices ourselves. This can't be a place full of super-strong people or Mary Sues-the characters to fit the standards of the board, which is at least moderately realistic. Crying over not having a perfect character isn't really worth it when imperfect characters have so much more potential.
I can understand why you don't want to edit, but is it really worth the 'this isn't fair' card? We have to keep the main board/main plot under careful control; if something doesn't make the cut, then it has to be changed. Everyone has to go through the same thing in this board, or indeed any roleplay that isn't jump-in. I'm sorry if that seems harsh, but it's the way things work. We're not about to change it to fit your character.

Let's go back to the original form... first, we need history, unless you put that in and I didn't catch it.
Then the talent. Brave can't speak human, I'm afraid, especially if you didn't put that in the form. Either she can communicate with Brave, she has wings, or she can shapeshift. They're three different talents-although there is a possibility of you making a new one, in the bounds of reason. Perhaps she could have wings and is able to talk to birds?
Brave won't be able to talk to anyone else, though. Birds just don't talk.
Then we need a bit more for personality, and you're good to go!

But she can't get accepted without a few changes. Nothing huge, just straightening out a few things and making sure everyone follows the rules. ^^

Wither shrugged, sprinting after the kit. "Sure, whatever. Let's just get going. Later, Nectarstar."

Frondpaw, flustered, hurried after them. "You two-oh, wait up, will you?"

"No time to wait." he responded, not even looking back at her. "Hurry up, princess, or you'll get left behind!"

"Starclan strike those two with sense, because this is definitely not how it was supposed to work." she muttered, picking up the pace. "Honestly... one kit runs away, leaving me with an irresponsible shekit and a crazy cat. Our odds aren't that good, are they?"

Ahhh, I see where we went wrong. >w<
This is a separate board. You make new characters here; we have different criteria than your average roleplay. So while she would fit another roleplay, Talents has a different base.
We don't have vampires here, so her sister wouldn't exist. But alter her a little here, and you could probably roleplay her in the 'other roleplay' board. Not every character from there fits here, but just about all of them here would fit out there.
It's like the 'all thumbs are fingers but not all fingers are thumbs' thing. Our standards are a little tighter.
You can't expect her to turn out like a carbon copy. Loosen up, girl! Be flexible! It's not too difficult to love her if she's different, is it? No, she's still your character. Just a little tweaked.
Believe me, you'll need that skill when you start making more characters. >w< More mindsets equals more awesome, and more awesome is... well, awesome!
    Nuff said. c;

"You should feel better right away!" Nell said, beaming, then she sobered. "You won't tell, will you? I'm not supposed to have that much medicine down here. They say that I should only get what I earn, whatever that's supposed to mean. That's my extra stash-I only have four left down here now. That's enough to last twelve meals or so if I get bad headaches."

Hey eyes went wide. "Leave? Oh, no. Sometimes I play hide-and-seek with the people upstairs, but you never go past the fourth floor. It's against the rules to leave. And don't go down the halls, either-there are bad people out there. And whatever you do, don't go in any of the rooms, especially not on this floor. Nasties live in there, and they'll give you headaches. Really, really bad ones."
