*whines because I want to finish Jade n Sai but life is being difficult*
-
Sweet~ I can't wait to see them! Rae's profile is the best, too <3
I have around an hour or so, so I'll see how much I tackle today.
-
Saiya is done, aside from her secondary class

-
Same. First idea sounds good to me!!
-
True. I think the most interaction we ever did was plot-rping and like, one scene between Mama Blue n Finnr? I can't even remember anymore. Either way, rping with you is just so fun!
<3<3<3
Ah, the rush is fine~ Doesn't bother me one bit <3
Hope I captured the right amount of "Wolf"ness and "Lyn what" in this ;3
Lyn might have been embarrassed for being caught in his habit of judgmental observations, but in all honesty he was more pleased to be in the presence of another person than he was to care for how exactly said person looked or behaved. Still, caught in the act, Lyn quickly averted his eyes and chose to return to emitting that insufferable aura of unending energy.
At least there was one creature that walked the shop who held a taste for neither appearances nor small talk. A defiant, bloody creature that sent chills up Lyn's spine anytime she so much as fixed him with a look of unadulterated famine. And if people wondered why he never got any sleep, all it took was one glance at the hound's face to understand. Wolf was, perhaps, not the best house guest nor the best housekeeper - and she would surely strangle Lyn for thinking of her in such lowly terms. If anyone owned the god awful, stupid shop of dead tree flesh and dust as old as a wilting great-grandmother, it was probably Wolf. Not that she wanted such a wretched place. Rather, she would have found being in the magic side of their shop to be much more welcoming. Alas, to pitiful beings of no magical properties, it was a waiting heart attack.
Nonetheless, Wolf couldn't help but snicker when Lyn promptly slapped a book of mammalian fish against their newest patron. The young mage seemed to be enjoying it, bouncing on his toes as he snapped the giant tome open and pointed to pictures of creatures Wolf would have preferred devouring rather than looking at. His incessant chatter was tuned out, a welcomed ability of hers - at least until Finch spoke up. Lyn seemed to take his reply as a prompting for more chatter, though, and so she settled a dangerous gaze upon the both of them as Lyn started to speak.
"Why yes, it's a whale! There's one that's got a horn and everything! And there's smaller classifications, hunting techniques, species information - oh my. It seems we'd best get a move on. Miss Wolfy doesn't look too happy, hmm?" he crooned the last part, snapping the heavy book shut and pressing it upon Finch once more in his haste to give the nefarious beast her well-deserved attention. Wolf simply glared at him, before directing those beady, freakish eyes to Finch in a look of "I, with my entire being, blame you for this" - which was unfair, but that was how Wolf worked.
Once she had returned with the keys (keys which the young mage was in no rush to take from her), Lyn happily set to using the skills he had learned in order to make what suddenly seemed like a haphazard mural of discolored flower petals turn into a perfect, professional work of art. A work of art that immediately disappeared, leaving a large entryway into - from what could be seen - a far larger, cleaner space of a shop. "You know, now that I think about it, it is kind of annoying having a sassy dog. But she'd probably eat me if I tried to muzzle her. I'm not kidding - watched her strip a poor guy clean to the bones once. Creepy dog, this one. She makes good food, too, and it'd be a shame if I was banned from using her hair products," he replied cheerily (perhaps a bit too cheerily, for someone claiming their dog had eaten people before), flashing the brightly colored bobby pins in his hair and giving Wolf an affronted look at her snickering. Well she rarely used them - she was a dog half the time! It wasn't his fault she left them lying around everywhere.
Practically flouncing in, Adrian made headway to a large wooden desk towards the back of the magic shop. Planters filled with all kinds of exotic, potentially glowing, poisonous, decorative, remedial, or carnivorous things hung from the ceiling, and a large collection of small to somewhat cat-sized creatures spanned the back wall in large terrariums and cages (Wolf would have been fine without the wasted space, but Lyn insisted the creatures deserved comfort). Wherever bookshelves and (usually locked) cabinets didn't take up space, there were most certainly shelves, baskets, chests, and hooks stacked up with incredibly large masses of - mostly unlabeled, in the case of ingredients or base supplies - magical products. Behind and around it all rested blue-stained windows with golden drapes on a background of russet stone and wood. And, where the light from the windows couldn't paint the walls a lovely shade of purple, floating lanterns rested in placidity - though their orange flames did happen to spread a flush of deep oranges throughout the corners of the (clean, thank you very much) shop.
Happily swinging his legs back and forth, Lyn waved Finch in to come closer. "I do hope you've got an idea of what you wanted. Sometimes there's so much here I forget a bit of it. I'm afraid if you're looking for anything Unicorn other than a book however, it's illegal and I don't carry it. Probably. We do carry dragon eggs, but only miniatures. Otherwise those are illegal too - and no. I'm very certain I don't carry any of those."
-
So how are we going to start, then? Should we just launch into the interview scene or start with an “introduction” of sorts?
-
I'll start us off, just to get things rolling. Don't expect anything super good though :P
Also it is a #confirmed fact that Jade has a wheelchair and a set of crutches with kitten stickers on them (courtesy of Saiya).
Wasn't sure what kind of place the interview's being held in so yeah. Have fun with that, Ivan.
Laying out the Set...
A young woman ran through the hallways, notepad in hand, as she made her way towards the set for the interview. She'd been waiting for this event forever! Her mentor was finally letting her get up and close with the stage (albeit still not in the limelight, nor even on the stage) rather than off behind the curtains.
The flight to Honolulu was memorable one, but surely this interview would be something far more to speak of in the future. Aoedia! The girl adored the game, and it was perhaps one of the reasons she joined the VR Weekly interviewers. She could talk statistics and recite literature on a dime, but games like Aoedia held such a fond place in her heart. Now, however, was not the time to reminisce. There was a conversation to be had! So, without tripping on her heels, the lucky apprentice bolted into one of the seats outside the location the interview was to be held, eagerly waiting for her mentor to appear and the show to really begin.
Late, probably...
Unlike many who wandered Honolulu, Saiya and Jade were not anywhere close to being on vacation. Or locals. This was, in fact, only their second time at the islands, and thus were still quite unused to their surroundings. Not that such a thing bothered Saiya, considering she was enjoying the sights while her roommate managed their directions. Phones and online maps were just so helpful in this day and age. She wasn't sure she could manage without them.
Jade, however, seemed to be intent on finding his way to their destination without any more help from Saiya than he needed. Which essentially left her to make sure he didn't spontaneously keel over and die - or just slip. He really shouldn't have been up and about, but if he wanted to walk his way to the interview she wasn't one to judge him aloud. Just...silently. When he wasn't looking. So he wouldn't notice the way she warded off curious eyes. Who thought that putting those kitten stickers on Jade's crutches would be cool? Oh. Right. She did.
"Jade, when're we gettin' there? We've been walkin' around for a while," she remarked, lips curling into a grin when the other made a disgruntled noise and stopped to point at a building.
"This one. Now c'mon, we're gonna be late if we take any longer Sai. Your sightseeing can wait. This is like Sky's big day - aside from her wedding, of course. Stop dilly-dallying." With a light hum, the woman did just that. She skipped alongside Jade (whose hobbling about did happen to hinder their advancement as much as her sightseeing, thank you very much), occasionally walking backwards in front of him, as they found their way to where RaeLily's undoubtedly awesome interview was to take place.
-
Standing in the lobby of the building, Saiya and Jade happened to bring a great deal of attention to themselves. Saiya stood - or bounced, really - by the windows, scrolling through her Twitter and snickering every once and a while. Her red hair was pinned up, held by a shiny, black floral clip. In fact, it seemed most of her appearance features blacks and reds. Wine red halter dress, black heeled boots, and a black and red coat slung over one arm. If they were anywhere chilly, she might have brought gloves. But, well, this was Honolulu, and such accessories were unneeded here. Her friend seemed indifferent, however, as he wore a light sweater and jeans from where he was leaned over on his crutches. Fancy shoes were, unfortunately, out of the question. A leg brace tended to do that.
"Jade - Jade look at this. Someone saw us in the airport back in LA when we took that trip ta 'laska! Look at how cute ya are! Yer so sleepy~" she teased, leaning into her companion's space and proceeding to shove her phone in his face. It was tagged with "#Amaryllis" and "#ghostea" - plus a few other things that undoubtedly made the top necromancer laugh.
Jade, startled by such a thing, reeled back before hiding his face in his hands. Someone had found them shot to all hell in the waiting area of their terminal, what with Saiya wrapped around him like an octopus while he himself looked to be as useful as a paperweight. It was embarrassing, though he knew well enough that the witch held even more dangerous information concerning his dignity on that phone of hers.
Grimacing, Jade gently pushed Saiya's phone back into her own personal space. "That's...very nice, Sai. But maybe we should think about not just hanging around. You wanted to be at this interview, after all," he stated, raising one eyebrow at her. The dramatic reaction would have been somewhat startling, if not for the fact he essentially lived with it every day.
"Yer right! We've gotta get a move on! Find the crew, maybe. Why didn't ya tell me sooner?! We could be late!" the woman quickly started to look around the lobby, searching for someone to ask for directions, before her eyes settled on someone else - Kiara.
"Siren! Or should I say Kiara, dear~ My, ya look so pretty! And I love your hair~ Red is such a nice color, aye?" Saiya chirped happily, and she probably would have kept on chittering away had a staff member not approached Jade - noticing people coming up to her roommate was just something instinctual, at this point.
The hunched over male just sighed, looking at the staff member with an air of exhaustion while they talked. The usual thing - Please follow me everyone, we'll be heading to the set for the interview, please wait for the others there, if you need anything just ask - blah blah blah. Jade simply made to follow after the guy, sending Saiya a sharp-toothed grin and Kiara a friendly wave as he promptly vanished from their sight until further notice, venturing down the hall to the set, crutches clicking lightly against the flooring.
He gave it maybe five minutes until she came thundering after him, honestly. They'd always been ghostea and Amaryllis, the inseparable freelance duo. Sure, they had gone their separate ways both in and out of games, but as far as most members of the top twelve knew - it was hard to find one without the other. The only time they were actually separate in the presence of other gamers was if Jade happened to be at home or in their hotel room (as he often was, sleeping and reading half his life away) or in the hospital, since apparently one leg surgery wasn't going to cut it (to the despair of both parties). Of course, there were rare moments like these, wherein Jade enjoyed seeing how far Saiya's invisible tether to him could go.
Elsewhere, mayhaps even just down the hall where the set resided, the young interviewer apprentice had become employed into the efforts of fixing the set together and tidying it. She rushed about, setting up decorations, organizing files, moving cables, adjusting microphones and the like. When she finally found things to be in order, another staff member gave her a well-deserved cup of coffee.
"Thank you, Richard. I was worried I wasn't going to be of much help on the set, what with Mr. Tharp having everything handled there. At least, I think he does. He seems really anxious. Any issues with the interviewees?"
"You're welcome, Lilia. You sure did help, though you're actually pretty right. Most of the people haven't shown up yet. Hope they'll get here soon, actually. Say, who's your favorite?"
"Well, I honestly can't decide between W.G.Roar and RaeLily. They're so cool! You?"
"I like SirenSong1118 and the freelancers. Frankly, they're all super interesting."
"Cool, cool. Thanks for the coffee again. Maybe we could get lunch sometime? I know you're probably busy today, but, well..."
"Oh, it's no problem. And actually, I'm free tomorrow - we could grab lunch then, if that sounds good? I'd love to hear some more of your thoughts on Aoedia and the like."
"Great! See you then, Richard! I've gotta blast - hafta see if Mr. Tharp needs me for anything else. Tell me if anything cool happens on the interview later, Mr. Cameraman!~"
Rushing off to where her boss was, Lilia quickly downed the gifted coffee and chucked it away. "Oi Boss! Need anything else done? I've got some time to spare!" she called out to him, stilettos clicking on the floor as she walked up to him. "Really, sir. If you need anything I can help. Heard from Richard that some folks're running late. But I did see Miss Lebeda down in the lobby, and I think it's safe to assume she and Mr. Delmont and Miss Ophelia will be here soon, sir."
//On it, Ivan Dark
I can do more next post, if needed :3

//small mobile post for Emms.
Also, Ivan Dark if you want me to do even more NPC interaction just let me know :3 I'd be happy to do it.
Saiya's eyes darkened as she watched her partner be led away. A bitter twist formed on her lips, turning into a scowl when Jade gave her that simpering look of victory. She hated that look.
"It's going alright, I guess. We ended up taking a red-eye to get here, and I don't think Jadey-boy's too happy 'bout that. How're you?" The woman replied to Kiara, leaning in close and smiling brightly, a large change from mere seconds ago. She loved talking with the other top players - it was the closest she could get to that sort of friendly talk she might have gotten had she not been so exposed to the world.
"Personally, I hope we're here early. I haven't seen any of the lads yet, and considering their behavior I'd bet a twenty that they're huffin' 'n puffin' their way here as we speak. Don't know where them younger folks are either. Or Miss Sky."

//'nother post
'cause I like this
and I have very few rps
Saiya nodded in agreement, gaze fixating on the space her roommate had disappeared from. "Aye. It seems everybody's a bit tired. Can't really argue 'gainst it though. Least that bugger got to sleep on the plane," she muttered, lips twisting into a bitter line. Jealousy was a common factor when it came to the fact that she couldn't fall asleep in such a noisy environment.
"I can agree with you there, though. I haven't seen everyone together like this in a while. If everyone actually shows up, I mean. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to take a caffeine detour, honestly. I know I did," the woman remarked, smiling brightly a Kiara. This was the face of someone who had woken up entirely too early than was humanely possible without the presence of caffeine. "Speaking of which, it's been so long since I got to see you in game! And in person. It's just been a while. So what've you been up to, hmm?~"
By the time Jade had finally reached the set, he was kind of regretting his decision to abandon Saiya in the lobby. Mostly because he was stuck in an unfamiliar place with not a single known person. Finally, he settled for back himself up against a wall near the set, thanking the staff member for escorting him there.
It was easy enough for him to pull out his phone and start scrolling through notifications - though perhaps the ones that caught his attention the most were of a scene in downtown Honolulu. "...So that's where they are. Jeez. Talk about crazy," Jade muttered, a small smile curved on his lips as he watched the stream of pictures and video clips from fans funnel in. The boy shifted on his crutches, scratching at a sticker on one while he proceeded to like and repost several pieces of the event's evidence. "They're so silly," he murmured, quickly catching a shot of the set before sending it to them.
Ghostea 👻
Looks like there'll be a few people showing up late~

A strand of red hair fell over one of Saiya's eyes, but they still seemed to grow brighter and brighter the longer Kiara talked. "Wow! Really? That's so cool! It's been forever since I dabbled in crafting an' the like. Wish I'd done more o' it now," she said, wilting like a flower for dramatic purposes. In all honesty, she just couldn't find it in her to focus on crafting. There was so much to explore - to conquer - that she had found the idea of crafting silly items to be a waste of time. Until now. Saiya took her friends' opinions very strongly, as could be seen.
Of course, the woman barely so much as startled at the sudden appearance and disappearance of the "lads". She offered them a feral grin, hand snapping up to return the salute. Unabashedly, it held her phone, and said object flashed as it took a picture of the boys rushing off to the green room. Saiya gave sort of light, cackling sound of approval at the photo. Another one for the album, of course.
"I guess we betta make haste 'n follow them, aye?" she inquired to Kiara, jutting her chin out in the directing they had left to. "Don't want to end up being late."
Jade had, perhaps, not expected the speed at which the other boys could reach when determined to reach their destination. However, he simply looked up from his phone, humming a greeting to Shuāng. "Good thing too. Being late's no fun," he murmured, glancing from the other male to the door. "Seems you guys had fun anyways. Wouldn't want to have gotten up that early, though." Really, Jade was likely one of the few humans that would have been content to sleep a trip to Hawaii away. He didn't get much sleep whenever he was in the hospital, and Saiya's incessant sleep-talking always made it a hassle when he was at home.
It would have been expected any other day, but Jade was incredibly tired the moment Will decided slapping him on the back was a good idea. He almost immediately pitched forward, nearly dropping his crutches as an inhuman shriek escaped him. "Will!" he whined, looking up at the guildmaster with a frown and narrowed eyes.
"I ought to crunch your foot for that, you bastard," the boy muttered, tapping one of his crutches threateningly even though his frown had turned into a small, quirky smile by then. "But, since you asked, I'm doing aight. Just want to sleep some more. Preferably for a long time. You?" For, in all truth, Jade had spent the months following up to the interview in far more doctor's offices and care units than he'd have liked.
Elsewhere, Lilia was quick to salute her boss and take off to the green room. A woman on a mission, she poked her head into the green room and gave the players a wave. "Hey, Boss wants ya down at the set in five. I'll escort ya once you're all ready."
-
Small post while we're in a lull (hopefully not for too long)
Also, I hope to get Jade's mounts and personality aspects done this weekend since I have a four day weekend.
"Indeed. Though I do enjoy a good few hours ripping apart dungeons. It's quite the hobby," Saiya responded, bounding down the hall with a skip in her step. She waved cheerily to anyone passing by, and paused to look at any posters that happened to be plastered to the wall. Eventually, she picked up the pace again - humming to herself until she reached the green room. Just in time to see a staff member suggest they leave soon, actually. Not that she paid much mind, too keen on picking out where her friends were before anything else happened.
-
Jade bared his teeth, emitting an air of defensiveness before decidedly giving Will a very pensive look. He turned to look down at his leg, watching the brace click as he gently moved it. Green eyes shifted over to Fēng, softening into something more friendly than his usual look of 'perpetual studiousness'. "It's fine. Surgery from back in January didn't help as much as it should've, so I had to go in a few weeks ago. And thanks, anyways. Though I'm not sure what he's done to deserve a scolding from you," he replied, leaning back in his crutches and returning to picking at the kitten stickers plastered all over them.
However, he couldn't help but feel that the laughter from Will had been a bit...patronizing. It wasn't exactly his fault, though. Jade was naturally a bit defensive. Still, he tried to shrug it off, instead pulling up an article on new mounts in the game to distract himself (though he did mutter a small 'are you sure about that' at Will's proclamation of 'straightness'). The statistics and models of each creatures easily drew him in - at least until Saiya had swooped into the room after Lilia and snatched the phone out of his hands.
"Nah-ah!~ What did I say? No new creatures until after the tournament~" she crooned, shutting the phone off and tucking it in her friend's pocket. A loud, distressed whine left the boy, who had turned away from the others to give Saiya a look of 'I just might die if you do this to me'. Technically, he had been on a social media blackout up until just a month ago - so it was no wonder he was desperate to catch up on any new mount releases. He was a mere eight shy of owning twenty, after all.
Lips twisted into a bitter line, Jade scowled at his roommate. She simply gave him a smirk in reply, choosing to walk up close before sinking her fingers into his leg brace and tugging at it. The resounding shriek of rage and 'ow' as Saiya was whacked over the head were probably not uncommon, though the stammered apologies Jade gave did happen to be quite rare. A side effect of the new environment, perhaps.
At last, the duo turned back to the others, Saiya somehow managing a threatening aura as she hovered behind Jade. A fair share of that aura was directed at everyone around her, actually. Not that she didn't keep up her cheerful appearance, waving to the boys before following Lilia out. Her hostility was understandable, considering she was doing her best to make sure Jade didn't break his leg again. For goodness sake, he was always in and out of the hospital, and she was sick of it. And the bills. Mostly the bills. But dealing with painkiller-Jade was annoying too.

Born on February 14th in the private manor of his parents, Charles has always been sort of the dissappointment child. The child where his mother and father said "what did we do wrong? The first two turned out perfect." Major issue was, they'd set his standard of being perfect too high for him to achieve. As a family of animal shifters in high society, it was difficult to get along with anyone from other classes or his own, considering the high class often shifted into wild animals and he was but a lowly, chubby tabby cat. He was expelled from school at thirteen for fighting other students and attacking a teacher, and ended up home schooled until the last two years before he could enter university. Though still a student, Charles spends most of his time avoiding the stuffy, toxic household of his family and instead escapes to the city library, wherein he is also an employee.

//It's alright! Mine's fairly short, since I've been recovering from a migraine.
It truly took someone with an adept listening skill to decipher the jargon that Lyn tended to spout. Though most of it was facts, they were often facts that were difficult to make heads or tails of. Even people who had to be around him in their daily orbit had difficulties understand just what the hell was going through Lyn's mind in order to spit out such odd talks.
Wolf, unfortunately, found herself among the lowly populace that couldn't understand a fraction of her friend's gibberish. Not that she didn't try - it was simply a task too great for any creature, even creatures focused on world domination. A low, guttural sound left her throat in response to Finch's murmuring. A sound of total defeat. For Lyn was perhaps one of the few people she hoped would suffer at the hands of minute happenings. Like a lack of caffeine, for starters.
Alas, it was much easier for her to direct the bubbling irritation that stemmed from merely watching her companion to their customer. Displeasure was always evident, and many times it was easy to tell that Wolf did not aspire to be the friendliest of canines on the block. If there were still any other dogs out there, actually. She found them to be quite delicious, all in all. Perhaps Finch would be the same? Though he seemed a bit too bony for her tastes. The mangled remains might be difficult to hide as well...perhaps she would leave him be, then. Best not get Lyn in trouble with the Ministry for having another murder occur on their street, naturally. She'd gotten quite the tongue lashing for that.
"Miss Wolfy, please stop thinking those creepy thoughts of yours," Lyn called over his shoulder, distracting her from her pondering and, incidentally, utterly volcanic glaring show-down with Finch.
"Shaddup, Lyn. You know just as well as I do that murder's illegal," she growled. Casting Finch one last look, she flashed her teeth in a manic grin just to prove his point - she'd learned long ago to master every threatening expression her dog shape could muster. Still, it didn't hurt to make a quick escape from her new enemy. One that, inevitably, was probably for the best considering she would have likely bitten Finch for so much as putting his hands on one of her books.
Finally, they were inside the magic portion of the shop. A portion Wolf was both partial to and disgusted by. First, because it was clean, and second, because it was filled with so many creatures worth more in consumption than in pets or magical properties. Perhaps, in her cold chest, she might have found a way to laugh at the fact Lyn's customer looked warily at the creatures within their shop when he'd stood mere feet away from the thing that caused each creature to fall silent when passing by. Not that Wolf ever noticed their silence, thanks to Lyn's reassuring smile that made it clear they were off the menu.
That same, friendly look found its way towards Finch. Though Lyn was perhaps not powerful by any means, he did have the sense of authority in the room. A sense that said he likely knew how to find whatever lied within the chaos, even if it took a few minutes to recall if he possessed such an object in the first place.
Tucking his knees under his chin, the shopkeeper sat perched on the edge of his desk and eyed a strange, slithering tube of fluff as it gobbled down the marbles a mantis-like creature kept throwing into its jar. "Good luck, then. Just lemme know if the case, cage, or whatever holdin' it is locked - don't think it'd be nice to just let ya look at it 'less it's dangerous."
