Dovepaw tackled her brother to the ground, Snowpaw reacting with a startled hiss and swat of a sheathed paw.

Snowpaw pushed the white she-cat off him. Sitting up, Dovepaw looked to the medicine cat.
"Oh, sorry, Quailfeather," She meowed, "I was thinking Snowpaw and I were feeling a bit stiff not able to go out and train without mentors and all, you know?"
As he let his sister apologize, Snowpaw on the other hand just grumbled below his breath. Something like "fox-hearted grouch" which earned him a good nudge from Dovepaw.

Dovepaw nodded then got to her paws, nudging her littermate. With a grumble, Snowpaw stood and both apprentices hurried off.

[Also, Anna, Dovepaw will be Caveheart's apprentice.]

In a few minutes after the apprentices had gone over to the empty elders den to play, two tom cats, brothers actually, padded into the medicine den. Goldenfrost was leaning against Coalfeather, his left raised off the ground as he limped in and settled down.
"Hey, Quailfeather, mind helping Goldenfrost?" Coalfeather meowed, flicking his brother scornfully with his tail. "He hurt his leg hunting."

Willowstream sat in a shady spot, licking her tortoiseshell fur clean.

Dovepaw crawled off her brother immediately, her eyes gleaming up at the deputy. "Sure!"
Though he did want to leave the camp, somehow hunting didn't sound appeasing to Snowpaw. "Well, I guess I'll go find Blackthorn. Have fun, Dovepaw." Then he turned and bounded to the other side of the clearing.
Dovepaw purred, nodding a bye to her brother then she turned back to Caveheart. "Oh, would it be okay if Willowstream came with too? I don't think she's been on a patrol today yet."

Coalfeather had been padding out just as Caveheart said for Goldenfrost to go out. "Probably not a good idea," He informed, "Goldenfrost twisted his leg, I think. You'll have to go without him today."
Willowstream stood from her shady spot and padded silently over to Dovepaw and the deputy.

Snowpaw was startled, jumping to his feet. "Geez! Do you all like scaring me?" He hissed in surprise. "Anyways, no. I don't want to hunt right now."

Coalfeather shook his head. "Shadowstar told me I have border patrol duties. You guys just go on ahead."
Dovepaw smiled a bit. "Have fun, Coalfeather!"
The black tom chuckled. "Oh, you don't know the half of it." Then he padded over to Blackthorn and Snowpaw. "You two wanna go with? Make up your minds now or I'm going alone," He humored.

Snowpaw merely nodded then smiled up at Coalfeather.
"Alright. Well, let's not waste anymore time." Coalfeather flicked his tail then led the way out of camp.

Snowpaw bounded after both warriors.
Outside the camp, Coalfeather led his small patrol to the north border.

[It's alright, dear.]

Coalfeather padded ahead to inspect the border, Snowpaw right at his paws. Suddenly, curious of a new smell on the other side of the border, Snowpaw glanced at the older tom before slinking off.
Catching the apprentice's movement in the corner of his light green eyes, the black tom sneered and followed him. Only an inch away from the border then Coalfeather sprang. He lept right over Snowpaw's head, who flinched and crouched. The black tom's body turned then, standing in in a position that prevented the apprentice from sneaking around him, his flank in Snowpaw's direction.
Eyes narrowed, Coalfeather hissed at him, "What do you think you're doing?"
"I was just exploring!" Snowpaw instantly defended himself, standing up straight and glaring at Coalfeather.
"Not out there." He flicked his tail to the land past the border. "Go back to Blackthorn and stay with her. I'm going ahead. And don't even think about wondering out there again!"
With a dissatisfied hiss, Snowpaw moved back towards Blackthorn.

Dovepaw and Willowstream heard, both right at Caveheart's paws. They both stopped a little behind though, watching the two black toms.
Coalfeather looked at Caveheart and his patrol. Then he turned his full attention to Caveheart. "Just some problems with a curious apprentice trying to cross the border. Snowpaw's back with Blackthorn now though."

Snowpaw's ears flattened against his head as he looked down. "Sorry," He mumbled.

Torrentpaw's mentor will be Coalfeather, who's on a border patrol atm.
Batpaw's mentor will be Goldenfrost.]
[Ok, correction there. Torrentpaw's mentor is Quailfeather. Batpaw's mentor is Coalfeather, who's on patrol.]

Seeing the commotion between Torrentpaw and Batpaw, Shadowstar padded over. "What's the problem here?" He asked the two bickering apprentices.

Goldenfrost had limped back to the warriors den where he settled in his nest and rested for the evening patrol.

Snowpaw nodded his head to Blackthorn.

Snowpaw quickly nodded. "Okay."

Coalfeather sighed, but nodded his head. "Of course. Sorry about that." He turned with a flick of his tail and went back to his own patrol.

Though a bit surprised, Dovepaw managed to recover, glancing up at Willowstream who just silently bounded over to Caveheart's side, Dovepaw right behind them both.
Willowstream gave Caveheart a comforting nudge of her nose also a signal to tell him he was right to tell Coalfeather not to yell. She had been concerned the prey would be scared off after that.
[Quick note: Willowstream is mute, meaning she can't/doesn't know how to talk.]

Shadowstar sighed then flicked both their foreheads with his tail. "Okay, settle down you two. I'm sure you feather is probably just somewhere in the apprentice den, Batpaw. Have you tried checking there? Maybe it got misplaced when you last cleaned your nest."

Willowstream's eyes gleamed warmly as she gave an instinctive purr. Then she gave him an affectionate lick on his cheek before falling back with Dovepaw, almost as if teasing him.
