For the first time that night Ruby slept soundly. She woke up to find Leafkit mewing hungerily. Ruby gently picked her up and gave her a stash of milk she found in the corner. She curled Leafkit beside her and went back to sleep.

" Not very good, my paw feels like its on fire and being hit by a hamer," Pearlkit meowed.

A back Tom spotted her. " Oh no you need a medicine cat right away," he said as the gently picked up the weak female.

" Ok," Pearlkit said. " I wonder who the medicine cat is around here," she wondered aloud.

When Ruby woke up she saw that Sharpclaw had gone to hunt. She gave Leafkit some more milk and patiently waited for Sharpclaw to return.

Rosekit playfully pounced on Pebblekit and barred her tiny teeth.

" Hi I'm Pearlkit something is wrong with my paw but I dont know what, and it hurts really bad," meowed Pearlkit.

" Vole please, my wound feels much better thank you so much for letting me stay for the night," said Ruby kindly.

Violet kit stalked silently behind him. " Can I join you?" she asked politely.

" So are you a loner or do you have a clan," Ruby asked casually as she ate her vole.

" That's wonderful, I am a loner too and I have never had a mate or kits," said Ruby.

" So Maplekit you want to play hide and seek?" asked Rosekit.

" I'm doing ok," said Pearlkit. " The medicine cat is going to get me something for my paw," meowed Pearlkit.
