    {Kazuma ~ Wind Devil Slayer}

    "No surprise there," Kazuma murmured in reply. "We ran into Yang on a job once, before you started coming along, and I remember her being really strong. If not completely crazy," he added with a smirk, shifting around and taking a handful of popcorn now. He had kinda assumed Regina wasn't the popcorn type anyways, but it didn't hurt to ask. Kazuma himself loved the stuff. It was just something about the salt and the butter and the satisfying, airy crunch. The stuff was honestly almost like a vice for him. The young man directed his attention back to where the ring was being cleaned up. "Yeah, Neri is next." His words came very casually, and he still looked completely at ease. If he was harboring any worries about one of his favorite guildmates about to fight her own match, he didn't show it.

    Truthfully, he didn't have many worries. Kazuma was more than confident in Neri's abilities as a Dragon Slayer. As a water user, she was particularly adaptable in the heat of the moment, and had proven time and again on quests that she was more than capable of dispatching a variety of opponents. It was very likely she'd do well, and just the thought of that made Kazuma's chest worm with smug pride, a smirk pulling over his features. Besides, even if she didn't win, it wasn't a big deal. Unlike most of the wizard's here, the Games and guild pride meant very little to Kazuma. He could honestly care less of they won or lost. It was--right there in the name, after all--just a game. As long as the participants learned something about different strategies and battle tactics, who cared who won?

    Don’t worry guys, they just have a history together which will definitely be revealed as we go along. I’m just being super secretive because Kazuma’s past will be a springboard for some plot points and I don’t wanna spoil the surprise too early. ;D It just so happens that he and Regina used to know each other as well (due to past RPs and the like).

    Also, I will be accepting forms once I finish work for the night, thanks for being patient with me!

    Hey guys, just a small heads up, I am officially appointing Sans as the co-captain of this thread! She has all the same authority I do and can accept people, help make lists, etc. She's gonna help me get organized since this thread has received so much attention, as well as help keep things moving when I'm away! I'm hoping we can get started tomorrow or maybe the next day, but I just wanted to give y'all this update!

    Yeah, one of my good friends who used to be on site a lot RPed as a poison dragon slayer once and her charrie was really cool! I actually like poison/venom powers a lot in general because I think there's a lot you can do with them!

    Also, do you guys wanna try and get started tonight?

    {Welcome to the Orre Region}

    The Orre Region is a remote region located far away from the other large regions. Many denizens of the well-known regions aren't even aware of it's existence. It is an extremely harsh region, most of it being over 85% desert. This makes it very difficult to traverse and so there are very few human settlements within it. The region lacks both gyms and a Pokemon league. Instead, strong trainers can seek out the colosseums located in different locations across the region. Trainers challenge different levels of the colosseum gauntlet. If they do well enough, they can win many fabulous prizes, and even challenge the colosseum masters at higher levels of competition. That aside, Orre is known to have a fairly high crime rate aside from a few small areas. This is due to the fact that the region is fairly poor, and many criminals tend to relocate to this region. Essentially, it's a very sketchy place to be. The exceptions or Phenac City, which is incredibly wealthy, and Agate Village, a quiet retirement village for former expert trainers. Pyrite Town is generally considered the pinnacle of crime. Additionally, the outer deserts are hounded by the nefarious Team Sangem, a group of people dedicated to stealing, poaching, and illegally selling Pokemon on the black market. Despite all these troubles, the region was considered as fairly quiet up until recently.

    In an effort to bring in more money (and a positive spotlight) to the region, Orre linked up with the Kanto region for a joint Pokemon research project. Using a Pokemon cargo ship known as the S.S. Libra, several Pokemon not native to the Orre region along with some of Kanto's top researchers, began to travel to Orre's research facilities in order to form new friendships and create new scientific breakthroughs. However, before the S.S. Libra could ever reach the port, the ship mysteriously vanished at sea just outside of Orre, taking all the Pokemon and people on board with it. The one and only eyewitness report describes a monstrous creature and several suspicious helicopters as being responsible. Suddenly Orre was thrust into the international spotlight, in a very negative way.

    In Orre itself, rumors have began to circulate about a group known only as Cipher. Who are they? What exactly is a shadow Pokemon? And what could this incident mean for the whole world? One group of unlikely heroes, trainers from across the world, are about to find out.

    {Kazuma ~ Wind Devil Slayer}

    The Valley of Whispers seemed like an appropriate name for the place. It was a heavily forested region, cradled between two mountains, with a clear, blue river cutting the landscape in half from higher elevation. It wasn't a particularly eerie forest though, so Kazuma imagined the whisper bit was probably a result of the wind. When it blew, it likely became caught in the cusp of the valley, swirling in eddies which would kick up the trees and cause the to rustle--hence the whispering--before eventually finding its way out of the valley and around the mountains. When he'd been coming up the pathway earlier, Kazuma had also caught a glimpse of structured, ivy covered stones far off into the mist-cloaked dip in the earth. Ruins, no doubt, and they'd be the first place he'd be checking once they began their mission of finding the artifact. Truth be told, he wasn't all that concerned. He doubted any of these dark wizards (people he'd never even heard of, by the way, so how good could they be?) had actually found tell of anything substantial. The way Kazuma saw it was as little more than a proving ground for lower ranked wizards and he was just the hired muscle here to bail them out. The only reason he'd come along in the first place was because his guild mistress had asked him too.

    Currently, the wind mage was seated inside a small rest-stop cabin just at the entrance to the valley, overlooking it He was waiting for the rest of the coalition's members to arrive so they could proceed with finding whatever ancient piece of junk these dark guild amateurs had dug up. He was sipping lightly on a lemonade he'd bought from the shopkeeper and examining a paper map depicting the valley, spread across the oaken table in front of him.

    “It’s a big group to babysit this time,” Kazuma murmured with a bemused smirk, the edge of the glass hovering near his lips. He glanced upwards at Regina without tilting his head, his amber orbs sliding upwards to meet her gaze. Despite his cool demeanor, there was something about him that—to anyone a skilled observer or who knew the young man really, really well—suggested that he was pleased to see her. Based on what he’d said, his words suggested that he didn’t feel he needed Regina’s help with this job. Quite the opposite, he doubted either she or him would even have to lift a finger before this whole escapade was done. Truth be told, though he wouldn’t admit it even over his own grave, he’d simply invited her along for the company. Kazuma loved his guild. Fairy Tail had become a place to call home and a place to heal. But many of the members were… younger. Which wasn’t entirely a bad thing, Kazuma himself was still in his early 20s, but the thing about his guildmates was that most of them acted younger. They weren’t exactly immature, they could summon up plenty of maturity if the situation arose (well, most members could anyway). But… it was so much easier with Regina. He could be totally straight with her, joke and tease, or be serious. Talk about their lives, their pasts, their hopes, their wishes, literally whatever. He could say literally anything at all to her and she always got what he was getting at. He never got tired of being around her. With his guildmates… they were lively and wore him out sometimes. There was nothing wrong with the way they behaved, Kazuma had always just assumed he and Regina had been cut from the same cloth.

    Speaking of his guildmates, Kazuma glanced about taking a quick stock of them. His eyes fell upon the dark complexion of Sienna, recognizing the girl with ease as he watched her fiddle about with the fur of the spotted big cat she kept as a companion. His amber gaze tracked evenly over the gathering wizards. And there was Micado, flipping through a magazine as Kazuma noticed he was prone to do while waiting or sitting around. As he examined him, he caught the tail end of the other man’s statement. “You’re not getting paid anything,” Kazuma stated flatly. “This is a coalition job handed down by the Council. We’re expected to do it for the greater good, so they’re not going to pay you at all. Didn’t someone tell you that?” Kazuma asked boredly. For someone who was known to like money quite a bit, it seemed a bit odd that he remained unabashed about the lack of payment. But truth be told, behind the scenes, Kazuma was getting paid; by Kenna. It was a pretty common practice that she had to essentially bribe him to go and help to less experienced wizards on jobs. This had been no exception. Kazuma Yagami never worked for free. After speaking, he titled his head upwards to gaze at Regina properly. He took a moment to pick up his glass of lemonade and take another sip before setting it back down, leaving a water ring where it kept resting on the table’s surface.

    “Ferrara will be happy to see you,” Kazuma informed Regina. The wind mage was cordial and relatively friendly with most of his guildmates, but he wouldn’t call any of them particularly close. Ferrara was one of the only exceptions to this. He wouldn’t even admit to himself how much he cared for the younger girl. “Anyway,” he continued. “We’re gonna head out soon. We’re just waiting for a wizard or two more, one in particular.”

    {Kazuma ~ Wind Devil Slayer}

    -

    Kazuma’s head titled as he turned his head to glance over as Micado replied to his earlier statement. The wind mage stared at him, expressionless, but his head tilted ever so slightly. There was a part of him that had trouble separating the idea of rewarded from paid. For Kazuma, payment always had been reward. Sure, there was other, mushier sentiments that could get behind the idea of being rewarded, “it’s the difference you made that’s all the reward!” but he didn’t really believe in that sort of thing. But then again… His gaze darted towards Regina quickly. She worked for no payment, and he understood why, completely. He supposed rewards were relative then—a matter of perspective. In the same way it had always been rewarding for him to see Ferrara succeed at a challenge even when he received no credit. “So what’s rewarded for you, then?” Kazuma asked Micado curiously, genuinely interested in what he might say.

    He paused for some reply but turned his attention back to Regina as well. He took a moment to have another drink from his lemonade. “It’s been going well,” he informed her, and this time the pride that colored his tone was unmistakable. “We were practicing with precision strikes earlier this week and she’s gotten really good. Her aim is even better than I was expecting it to be at this stage,” he informed Regina warmly. “We’re still working on… well, she’s still really shy,” he concluded with a soft smile. Kazuma had never pushed Ferrara into any kind of social interaction. In fact, his constant shielding of her from discomforts had likely contributed to the anxiety to some degree. But he knew that she would eventually have to learn to cope with it better, so she could get by on coalition missons such as these with little to no stress.

    Sanctuaryforall1 You're welcome Sans! And Reya is definitely accepted!

    xxSkullyxx Hello and welcome, we're glad to have you!

    Mer~ Sounds fine to me, Mer-chan! It’s creative and sounds interesting a I like the way you’ve developed it so it shall be canon in this thread! *huggles*

    Also, let’s try to keep the plot thread just for plot so people can find everything relatively easy. I’m trying to maintain some semblance of order here. ;D Preliminary RPs are fine, just consider a separate thread.
