"They can follow the river Aryss upstream until it meets the Rheos river, then follow the Rheos downstream until they get to Ishval." she signed. "The Ishvalans can offer them refuge until they figure out where they want to go from there."

Selene led them toward the bus stop, because that's where the entrance to the tunnels are. Just before they turned onto the street the bus stop was on, she led them into an alley. The entrance was hidden behind some crates.
-
Below ground, Tess sensed their chi. That's weird, she thought, looking up at the roof. Maybe I'm imagining it.
Selene led them through the tunnels. There were lights spaced throughout the tunnel, lighting their way. -
"It's around six miles," Selene signed with a small smile.
Tess kept looking at the roof behind them. If I'm not imagining Jian and Meili's chi, then who are the other two with them? she wondered. -
As they got closer to the end of the tunnel, Takara finally noticed that Tess kept looking up at the roof.
"Tess, why are you looking at the roof?" she asked.
"I think they're following us." Tess said thoughtfully.
"Who?" Emily asked.
"The others." she replied, still looking up. -
"Jian and Meili. They have two others with them, also." Tess finally specified.
Emily started getting nervous. I might have to make my move before that annoyance can warn them. Darn. she thought. I was hoping to wait a bit longer. -
"Yeah! Let's hurry!" Takara exclaimed, starting to run.
I'd better make my move, Emily thought. She ran and caught up to Takara, grabbing her arm and yanking her back, making them both stop in their tracks.
"Emily, what are you doing?" Takara asked, surprised.
"Everyone stop!" Emily shouted. "Or this girl gets it!"
Selene and Tess stopped. -
"I want you all to be slaves!" Emily said, grinning, then turned to Selene. "And your reputation will be ruined now that I know you are in on it!"
Selene only replied with a glare. Once Emily turned away, she signed to Keith, "I need a distraction so I can get these freed slaves out of here."
"I knew something was wrong with you," Tess muttered, with Emily overhearing.
"Oh, and how did you know?" Emily taunted.
"Your chi is strange, like there's multiple people in you." Tess replied. "I should have trusted my instincts."
"Too late now!" Emily laughed maliciously. -
"Fight her, use alchemy, whatever," Selene signed, "as long as it keeps her busy." She then slowly began collecting the slaves to lead them out before Emily noticed.
"Well, if you must know, I'm a homunculus." She said with an evil grin. "My real name is Envy." -
Takara ran toward the others and hid behind Tess. Selene started edging the slaves toward the exit.
-
"Are you ok, Jian?" Tess asked.
Selene led the slaves around a curve until they were out of sight then they sped up.
-
"Dumb move," Envy said. Just before Joan reached her, Envy stepped forward and to the side, raising her arm to Joan's eye level and sticking out a finger. This movement made Joan flinch back, her feet flying out from under her as she fell backwards. Envy laughed.
-
OOC:
Envy pulled an Uncle Stuart move.Still laughing, Envy said, "I just had to do that, I couldn't help it."
"Shapeshift?" Takara wondered.
"Yeah! Wanna see?" Envy responded, then changed to her homunculus appearance. "If we weren't in this little tunnel, I could show you my true form as well." -
"You really are an annoying little brat, aren't you?" Envy growled, starting toward him. "I should finish you off now while you're still injured."
Selene led the slaves out of the tunnel and began guiding them to the river. She could lead them to safety, she just hoped the others would be alright.
-
Envy's expression wavered for a second before she laughed again. Still walking toward him, she suddenly tripped, falling on her face. While walking past Tess, she had stuck out her foot and tripped Envy.
Getting up, Envy turned and glared at Tess. "If I wasn't planning on making you a slave again, I'd kill you for that." she growled.
"Maybe I'll try pushing my luck," Tess smirked, with Takara still hiding behind her. -
"OUCH!" Envy exclaimed. "That hurt! But you'll have to do better than that." She said as she pulled her head off the blade and healed, grinning again.
Takara squeaked in disgust and covered her face. Tess stared at Envy, wide-eyed.
Envy attacked Meili, feigning a punch then kicking toward her knee. -
"What? No reaction?" Envy leered. "You just stabbed me in the head and I'm still standing!"
"I understand now," Tess said thoughtfully, "The many souls in you grant you immortality. At least in a sense."
"Bravo!" Envy said sarcastically, "Finally, someone gets it! Give her three cheers!"
"Thanks for the sarcasm." Tess said dryly. -
"Ow! Is your arm metal or something?" Envy grabbed Joan's arm and threw her onto the ground.
Tess ran toward Envy. "So if we kill you enough times you'll stay dead, right?" she asked, kicking Envy in the head as she flipped over her.
"Ah!" Envy exclaimed, stumbling. "If you can manage to kill me enough." Envy swiped at Tess, who easily dodged. -
Takara retreated to where Evan was watching.
Tess continued fighting Envy, using alchemy more than alkahestry since it was close-range. She also used her daggers to injure Envy whenever possible, trying to weaken her. -
Takara gasped. "She's me!"
Envy gasped as well. "No, I'm the real one!"
They both glared at each other. "Don't believe her!" They both exclaimed, pointing to each other.
Tess looked at them quizzically. "Envy, do you really think you can fool us? Four of us can sense your chi."
