Brightkit padded out of the nursery, watching the Windclan cats fight the pack of dogs. The red kitten with white paws and blue eyes was named Brightkit. Brightkit's eyes were pained. She wished the fighting would end. Brightkit's dreams were different from the average kit. She wishes for peace, hope. Brightkit saw a dog coming at her. Brightkit tried to run but she froze. The dog attacked her, giving her a scar on her chest. Brightkit escaped from the dog and out into the territory....

Brightkit ran until she reached a burrow. Brightkit looked at her bleeding chest then at the burrow. She went inside. Brightkit was the only cat that could fit in. Brightkit saw a long dark tunnel. She went through it, glancing back occasionaly. She saw a large blue light and she went for it.

"I know. Something is calling me here." Brightkit said. Her voice sounded faraway.

"I'm going in." Brightkit went into the blue light. She saw blue glittering lights and a small cave.
"Wow!" Brightkit breathed.
