Jess winced as her shoulder was wrapped, but gave a sweet smile to the doctor. "Thank you," she said, taking the medicine and hopping to her feet. Turning to look at Dimitri, her warm blue eyes swam with annoyance, sorrow, and just a hint or regret. "What now, Alpha? You want to discuss how I put myself in danger defending others? How I did the right thing when you asked me not to?" Her voice was soft as she spoke, shaking her head with mild disbelief. "While you may be an Alpha, you need to respect that my whole life I have trained to be an alpha; alpha blood runs through my veins. You of all people should know what that is like."
Turning, Jess swayed her way out of the medical wing and up the stairs, heading to Dimitri's office, as she assumed he would want to speak there so others could not hear him.
"You may not like it, but that is a part of me hat can't change."

"Listen buster, I said I would stay here for now; I still have the right to leave, or even reject you if I had the mind to. so I suggest you back off. And your right; I'm not a beta; I'm and Alpha; because the moons goddess made mates equal in power and strength, as well as status. So your either dropping down to my level, or I am rising up to yours."
Jess had stalked over to him glaring ferociously up at him with her flaming blue eyes, hostility swimming deep in their blue depths as he dared him to challenge the ways of the moon goddess, or her own rights. Her small frame of 5'3 stood practically against his 6'7, and though she felt rage rolling off him in waves, she didn't flinch . Her own rage was level with his, though she seemed to be more logical about the matter then emotional. Her brown curls were swept back into a messy bun, illuminated her features.

Trying? In what way did he try? He treats me like low class, idiotic mutt and lashed out at her when I tried to help!
Jess growled after he left, snatching a book from the shelf before heading down stairs. From there, Jess proceeded outside, across the large amount of dead bodies. Her gaze landed on the two she had killed, causing a small sigh to release from her lips. A few yards away, some of the unwounded pack wolves sat in their human form, murmuring about the dead. Jess cleared her throat.
"Hey. You five. Yes, you! Come over here?"
As the group walked over, Jess's gaze softened, seeing their faces twisted with grief or worry over a lot friend or two. "Alpha Dimitri is with Beta Logan at the moment. Lets not leave him a mess to cause him any stress once he come back outside. All right?"A few nodded, while at least once gave her a distrusting glance. After all, Jess wasn't really part of this pack, and she had not even been there for a day.
She sighed in relief that most agrees, and went about spitting orders and helping when needed, carrying others into the house that the doctors had missed on the fields, watching over the men as they moved the rogue bodies as disposed of them. Once that was complete, she turned her attention to the family of the dead pack wolves, weaving through and sharing her grief with them, helping to soothe where she could. As the tasks slowly thinned out and where done, Jess was curled up with a small pup, hugging it softly and reading it a portion of "The Wizard of Oz," story, completely distracting the traumatized pup from its fear.

A few hours after the ordeal was over, Jess made her way back into the pack house, stretching her senses to find where her mate was. The scent trail led her around the house, from the doorway, to the nurse's office, to the hospital area, then back up the stairs. She chuckled, shaking her softly as she followed the musky scent. For someone who was so stubborn and unwilling to move in his choices, Dimitri sure did move around like a cat dosed in catnip.
Navigating her way through the maze like structure of the house, Jess came to a door, in which his and Logan's scent mingled. Her nose crinkled in confusion before she quietly opened the door, expecting to see Logan healing on the bed with Dimitri sitting beside him in a chair. Instead, she found Dimitri dozed off in Logan's be, Logan no where in sight, with his arms curled up behind his head.
Like this, he looked at peace, relaxed and away from life struggles and their cross words. A small smile threatened to appear on her lips, but she pushed it down, though her eyes crinkled at the edges with just the tiniest hint of adoration. He may be rude sometimes, but it was in fact in everyone's best interest.

Jess walked over and place a hand on either side of his face, pulling him down to look at her and focuse. "Dimitri," she said, then repeated a bit louder until he looked at her. "Logan is fine, I herd the pack doctors through mind link; they helped him move back down to te infirmary so they could get him hooked up on morphine. He's still in pain and needs to be alone to sleep."
Her blue eyes searched his, her brows furrowed as she watched him fret, then hopefully calm down. Tiny sparks traveled down her pas as she held his face to look at her, trying to calm him down. "He's fine Dimitri," she chided softly, dropping on hand down. "He'll be okay. We can see him later."

Jess was, to say the least, surprised by his actions, but at the contact, she released a sign she didn't know she was holding in. Raising both her arms around his shoulders, one hand resting at the base of his nape, she moved in closer, her wolf humming contently. He seemed so...broken, so worn down here in front of her. Right then and there, Jess promised herself that any difference they had, she would try to work with; and that if he was truly this broken, she would be the one to fix him.
Absent mindedly, trailing off in her own thought, she trailed circles in the soft hair at the base of his head, closing her eyes and leaning into his embrace, more then willing to help him the best she could.

Continuing to draw circles on the back of his neck, Jess burried her face in his neck as well, taking a deep breath. Not wanting to ruin the moment, Jess gently moved him over to the bed. No, she didn't want to do anything; but the fact he was dozing before she came in showed her how badly he needed to sleep. She pulled back and looked at him, blue eyes warm and for the first time, caring. "Sleep Dimitri. You need it. I'll stay here if you want me to. "
The weight of his arms still fell heavy on her, as did his face incthe crook of her neck, but she didn't mind. For the first time, even if it would only be this once, her was showing her a side that no one else had seen, besides maybe Logan. "If you don't want to, then I won't press the matter..." She trailed off, unsure if he would become aggravated by her offer. She took a fraction of a step away, incase he wanted her to go away.

Jess smiled softly, wrapped her arms back around him as he sunk onto the bed, pulling her with him as he did so. As he looked at her, Jess noticed the fear in his eyes, warm and vivid. A small surge of protectiveness surged through her as she moved closer, and placed a whisper of a kiss on his forehead. "I wouldn't dream of it."
With that Jess lower her head to burry it into his shoulders, breathing in his scent.
Why was he so terrified over sleep? What was it that haunted the shadows of his mind, that drove him to this state? She didn't know; and she may never know, but she promised herself she would be there every step of the way.

    Payton | Mare | Age: 4 | Stallion: Eden
The mares head threw back, and an enraged bugle coming from her throat as she spun in her heels, her legs beating the earth as she headed towards the people. Ayton aimed herself at one of he horses containing a rider; she was not scared little filly. She had contact with humans before. And after all, she was a lead mare; she would not back down. Swinging her rear right and slamming to a stop in true Quarter Horse fashion, the mares hind quarters slamming into the side of a moving horse, throwing it off balance also with its rider. She stopped as the rider was pinned, the horse unable to get up. Her eyes blazed as she looked up, the herd in a state of panic. The large mare ears swiveled, her peaceful looks masking the anger that boiled under the surface, though his yes flashed over to Raven, bugling a threat to him as well. If h didnt get to him first, Payton would

    Abner | Stallion | Age: 9 | Mare(s) --
Abner roared to life, nudging Dove alongside him at the brute of a horse galloped back into the meadowed area. His ears flicked a few times. His thick, trunk like legs carried him swiftly down, over to legend. Using his sharp back teeth, her sliced through the rope, and turned to face Adien, his size swaping the rider and his smaller horse. He remained still, though his head was moved in a such a way a rope couldn't be secured around him, his thick mane making tightening one impossible. Abner glared, locking eyes with the rider and horse, ears pinned back as he looked on, pawing the ground in a threat to attack. Wild horse attacks were not a pretty thing.

Abner smiled cruely. "Though? Not exactly. But smarter then you?" I would say so."
The brute snorted, rolling his eyes. "What do you know about freedom? Your a little ranch horse."
He rolled his at her, before turning his large draft body to Paradox, trotting his way over, though he was not worried about himself, as he had Payton to back him up.

No worries lol I understand being busy, ad that you have a life :p )

Jess sat next to him on the bed, criss crossing her legs and moving her hands to her lap, relinquishing contact with him. She saw as exhaustion swarmed him, but was not wholey surprised as he fought against it to stay awake. Clearly his dreams haunted him in a way she couldn't comprehend without explination; though they were also, quite plainly a private thing.
Jess moved her arm closer to her side, won ing before she looked down as the pill bottle in her hand. Was it too early for her to take another dose? Eh, whatever. She popped the cap back and dumped one of the chalky blue pills into hand before throwing it back, hoping the painkillers worked swiftly. As she waited, she turned back to look at him, a few thoughts mudding her mind.

Abner snorted mockingly at the mark, and bucked, his spine twisting in mind air as his back legs lashed out, the force behind each leg distributing enough strength to break bones, him bein a friesian. He felt his hoof graze Spirits head until she lurshe t back. Abner had lived through nine years of roundup, and had a standing reputation of not getting caught. Reaching Dove, Abner turned to face her, calm and collected. His soft black ears flicked as she watched the harnesses mare slow. His eyes locked not with hers, but Aidens. If that human dared to get him on the end of a rope, Abner would happily rip him off his horse, and take the mare down in the proccess. After all, ropes were used to keep horses from running away; not from charging.
His hind side hit Doves flank, and he turned to lip her shoulder comfortingly before looking at the mare. "Don't worry about me; it's Payton you need to look out for." A soft chuckl escaped his lips as he though of the brutal mare.

Payton had since left Dove's side, rounding the herd up and pushing them deeper into the thickets that they ruled. The horses below that were roped could be helped presently. After Ash and Maddie were moved out of danger, the mare turned to see Eden, Paradox, Abner, and Legend struggling. Her ears flicked forward as she snorted, pawing the ground agressivly, before leading the herd in the thickets. She crept around the area, moving closer to Paradox. The mare let out a threatening bugle to the horse biting his legs, and moved to them, ears pinning back and head lowered agressivly, the muscles in her jaw jumping. "But him again, and I'll hang your hide on the nearest tree." Her gaze burned softly as she gazed at the larger stallion, focusing on him rather then the strained gelding

A small yawn escaped her lips as the sun kissed her back and shoulders, warming her as her eye lids dropped lazily. Her good arm angled behind her and she propped herself up, then leaved back against it, cocking her head to one side as she studied the room. Her glaze flickered around, taking in the amounts of greys in Logan's room, before her ears wandered back to her mate. The gaze under which he was watching her cause heat to blossom in her face, spreading a soft pink glow across her cheeks.
His face lazily relaxed, his sharp features softening, his brown unknotted from its usual furrow.
She leaned back into the bed, rolling over to face him. Her hand reached out to his face, searching his features, as she gazed at him, looking over him as she did so. He maybe be a pain in the rear at times, but he was hers. Her pain. And she wouldn't have it any other way

    Abner | Stallion | Age: 9 | Mare(s) --
Abner watched as Dove was looped around the neck. Instantly the draft stallion sprang, his teeth bared as she flew at the smaller mare. Coming into close proximity, Abner reared, his front legs striking out to the human, his teeth finding Spirit's bridle harness that was tightly bound to her cheek. He sunk his teeth into it, and gave a rough thrash of his head, throwing the mare off center for a minute, if not more. His warm brown eyes glared at her, ears pricked forward with acute laziness. "You were never one of us. And you never will be. You're nothing but a waste of hide." he snorted, before grabbing Dove's rope. The stallion reared, and plunged backwards, the ability of his breed coming into play as he ripped the saddle off center, and with it pulling the rider to the ground. His eyes flared as he turned around, safe guarding Dove. "I warned you. You don't want to deal with Payton. If you keep at Dove, Payton will come." he said slowly, eyes narrowed at the opposing embarrassment of a mare

I think that just for the mean time, a two post per person policy is a healthy idea. at lest, it she be inflicted until we know everyone is able to post that day. It keeps flooding down to a minimum, and can help avoid conflict or short tempers that flare up from this type or situation ( I know because I am one of these people *waves team flag shyly* )
I'm also aware horses need to be caught, buuuuut *ties cape to horses* they can try to be super heros. Granted they will fail miserably, but they can try.
