It was nice of them to give them a suite. Oberon found it profoundly difficult to slip away into the night when across the room, his roommate was desperately studying. He also found it annoying that he had to surrender half of his decorations. And he would get his own apartment, but they required on-campus housing for the first year. If only they knew how old he was, they wouldn't treat him like a fresh, bright-eyed teenager entering the "real world" for the first time.

But this time, he got a suite. A roommate, of course, but still. A suite. It was a definite plus.

He began bringing his boxes up, emptying his bedclothes onto the empty bed (because that's one thing he couldn't unpack after a night of sleep), starting to pull out some bins for storage, all his clothes, all the little decor that he brought with him. It'd been a while since he'd taken classes in the performing arts, and he was excited. He believed the last time was in the 1950s. Hopefully, some things had changed since then. Or perhaps it was better if nothing changed? He shrugged. Whatever it was, it would hopefully not be boring.

He heard the door open and close, and realized that must be his roommate. It was also good that they weren't in the same room, Oberon thought, because sometimes he wanted a midnight snack. It would help restrain him a bit. He stepped out into the main room, where he spotted him. He looked like a good kid. Some piercings. Dyed hair. "Hello!" greeted Oberon cheerfully. "Nice to meet you. I'm Oberon."

Isolde ate very deliberately. She appreciated Ms. Djinni's enjoyment of the meal. She was glad that, despite her limited options, she was able to create something that she enjoyed. Perhaps she would bake some bread next. It would be good to have for tomorrow's breakfast. Perhaps she would also make some jam from the strawberries. As she took small bites of her oatmeal, she began to plan meals. For lunch today, she could make some soup, she saw some tomatoes in the cabinet. What would be for dinner, though? It would have to be something nice, as it was her first day here with Ms. Djinni and it would make sense if she prepared something special for that occasion. A sort of thank you, at least a thank you from her parents.

She was brought out of her train of thought by Ms. Djinni's comment. She frowned. A guest? She supposed that it made sense that there were guests, she was somewhat aware of the kingdom's need for witches to fix things, but she wished to be alone. And for the guest to see her so soon... not to mention that it would hurt her family's reputation, as they were trying to keep this whole business a secret, but the rumors would have gotten out one way or another. Besides, that is not what Isolde cared about. "Who is this guest?" she asked, trying not to reveal her dismay.

    roleplay thread!

    THE PLOT:

you mall goths aren’t good for anything, is what most people tell you. they tell you you’re lazy, you’re depressing, and that your makeup and clothes are shitty.

you know they’re shitty. that’s how you like it.

little do those people know, you provide an extremely helpful service. it turns out that if you obsess over witches and werewolves and ghosts and demons and vampires, you are uniquely qualified to deal with them. besides, with all those pentagrams and symbols that you wear all over yourself every day, you’re essentially prepared for anything. you’re like the Scooby Doo kids, but if anyone ever compared you to those fucking preps you’d kick their ass.

this is a self-indulgent RP so we can all be our shitty, edgy emo characters. I know you have them. it is set in the year 2010. get wild and crazy with your characters, I don’t care. the edgier, the better. go nuts.

    THE ROLES:

    1. the investigator - always seems to find out when something fishy is going on - adams, played by siloueta
    2. the prep - the token prep. seems out of place in the group but is still appreciated for their charisma - isaac, played by GaryStu
    3. the expert - a nerd about this whole supernatural thing, always does their research - reserved by devereaux
    4. the tough - this kid isn't scared of a fight, and will get out the baseball bat against monsters... or people - coraline, played by CantFightTheNarwhals
    5. the witch - do you need candles? a spellbook? a oujia board? they have it and they sure can use it! - barnaby, played by \\~Archaic~//
    6. the monster - this one isn't quite human. the rest of the group doesn't mind that, though - octavia, played by Wolfiee

    THE RULES:

    1. don’t be rude unless they’re like, bad people.
    2. this is not only LGBT+ friendly, but I will kick you out with ENTHUSIASM if you are some sort of homophobe or transphobe or something. And if you use the word yaoi unironically.
    3. three sentences or so per post? I mean I do paragraphs but I don’t mind if you aren’t feeling the whole paragraphs thing. Just get some stuff in there. Keep it easy.
    4. your character can be anything as long as it isn’t like, annoying or lame. Like, hell yeah, we can have a billion extremely cool psychic vampires, but once your psychic vampire immediately figures out the mystery for the 3rd time that’s lame. Just don’t be lame.
    5. a lot of those PAFP BxB roleplays say “no scene pics!!! no scene pics!!!” I just want to say here that if your picture for your character ISN’T some picture you pulled from google after looking up “cute emo boy blue hair” then I’m going to be disappointed. I mean use whatever picture or faceclaim you want no rules just right but it’s gotta be some scene kid’s selfie. Maybe an anime goth girl. Either way. (this is a joke rule but essentially use anything for your character’s picture i don’t care)
    6. let’s get some diversity up in here. People who get really into counterculture tend to be outcasts. People who are outcasts are not often skinny cishet white people with no mental or physical disabilities. Let’s keep that in mind. Get a little creative with the kinds of people you create.
    7. age range for characters is about 14-18 years old, since they’re high school mall goths.
    8. make sure your posts are readable! This means PLEASE don’t use black text on the Feralfront background. I can’t see it. Keep the weird fonts to a minimum, and make sure your text isn’t itty bitty. I’ll let you know if I can’t read it.
    9. there are only six roles! so only 6 people can sign up. excluding me. so only 5 people can sign up. first come first serve, unless you reserve a spot and disappear for a week, then I'm kicking you off.
    10. rawr means i love you in dinosaur

    THE FORM:

    here are my characters!

As Ms. Djinni explained the situation, Isolde looked more and more indignant. She pressed her lips together, and narrowed her eyes. That man was disgusting! She was rather horrified that Ms. Djinni should have to treat someone like that with any sort of dignity when he had acted in such a way towards her. She wished that she could frighten him off, with a good kick to the behind out the window of the highest floor, but she didn't want to upset her host in any way. She frowned.

"Of course I'll stay down with you," Isolde said, in a determined manner. "There is no way I'll let you be alone with that disgusting creature. Don't worry about me." She noticed Ms. Djinni's hand, moving towards her. With a little flutter in her chest, Isolde took her hand. She wasn't sure why she felt so suddenly nervous. She did not fear this young man any more than she feared a life of imprisonment, any more than she feared the beasts in the woods, any more than she feared the witch before her.

She realized, to herself, that she recognized that name. Perhaps he was one of her suitors-- she wouldn't be surprised. However, many of her first suitors came when she was quite young. He might not remember anything about her, just as she didn't remember anything about him or his visit.

ooc: okay i gotta know do u ALSO think its adorable that isolde refers to stella as ms djinni bc i DO

i was thinking that raven would definitely have a big role in plotting the escape bc they'd definitely be a fan of that whole heist thing. maybe it could involve a masquerade ball? i just love masquerade balls especially when heists are involved. like theyre all invited and they use it as an opportunity to slip away unnoticed???? im a little confused abt one thing tho which is arent they not all living together? since they all have different financial statuses

    roleplay thread!

hello! i figured i'd make a plotting threat where we can decide things about the setting and make up plot ideas!

    SETTINGS:

    1. school - Northview High School - a moderate to large size high school with about 1200 students, 400 in each grade. it was built in the 80s, and is getting a little worn and a little sketchy. there's quite a bit of graffiti in the bathrooms.
    2. mall - Oak Hills Mall - a big ol' mall, a testament to american capitalism. a pretty good place to hang out. they have some good pretzels there.
    3. the character's homes
    4. feel free to add ideas for places!

    PLOT IDEAS:

    1. we can BASICALLY steal any plot idea from the Bailey School Kids
    2. the ghost of a cheerleader in the school demands revenge on a kid for embarrassing her in front of her entire team before she died
    3. there is a whole vampire coven and they keep drinking the blood of people's pets. this is unacceptable.
    4. someone places a curse on an upcoming school event (prom??) and problems keep coming up and shit's ESCALATING
    5. feel free to suggest some plots!

i was thinking we would start around september, as in they're just getting back in school? if u would prefer somewhere else tho that would be okay too!

i was thinking we could start like, they already know each other, but maybe not about the supernatural stuff that each other has? and then something comes up (i was thinking to start w a ghost in the school) that results in them finding out about each other's stuff. like adams be like "hey guys so like. i can see ghosts and we have a problem. don't worry about it though."

heck yeah!! supernatural is good inspo for supernatural plotlines.

also a lot of people seem to have bad home lives... i think adams has the only nice mom. he's going to have to share her with everyone. she'll bake them cookies. she's going to be their Other Mom.

Isolde's face flushed when Ms. Djinni smiled at her, for reasons she didn't yet understand. Her face also flushed when she implied that she couldn't handle it, for reasons she understood. While she knew she had not faced the same hardships as Ms. Djinni, she had suffered through plenty. Plenty of nights of her husband doing things that she just had to be silent for. Plenty of times where a servant, noticing her dissatisfaction, had offered in a conspiratorial voice to help her with that problem. Plenty of suitors who came to her when she was only 10, touching her face and her hair and her arms until she wished to scream.

Then she took a deep breath, and smiled. She was about to offer to clean the dishes, when it was quite suddenly done. Isolde wondered, in another flash of frustration, if Ms. Djinni could have done that with breakfast. Likely, she could have. It made her want to lock herself in her room and refuse to come out until her punishment was over, but she recalled she had to eat. "I'll come to the library in a moment," she said, unable to come up with a good reason that she was staying behind. The wink changed Isolde's mood quite suddenly back again. She felt the heat in her cheeks once again. What was it about her that sent her feelings running in all directions?

Isolde realized, as she waited in the dining room for a moment before she headed up to the library, that she had referred to this as her punishment. Her punishment for what? For being unable to produce a heir because of a long-ago curse? It was absurd, but it certainly felt like that. She was indignant as she got to her feet. It certainly felt like a punishment. She headed up to the library slowly, dragging her feet.

im glad that bunny has a good mom... he can still hang out at adams place when his mom is away and get baked goods tho

are we all cool and good w the first plotline being a ghosty plot?? i was thinking it would be more like helping someone run some ghostly errands rather than any dramatic fighting.

OH also im gonna play the ghost in the first arc BUT if u wanna play the monster u can 100% do that!! just let me know :))
