Shadepool observed the small gathering of cats from a distance. He slowly padded over, the warm sun casting rays on his grey-black fur. His tail twitched. He lowered a green eye at Blackpaw.
"What's going on here?"

OOC: Heyo
Name: Riverlight
Age: (assuming we go by moons) 25 moons (I don't know if the wolf growth rate is similar to cats)
Gender: Male (Obviously)
Personality: Riverlight is a kind and soft-spoken wolf. He treats others with respect and compassion. Riverlight is reserved to most other wolves, but is very warm and caring to those he calls friends. He is plagued by frequent self-doubt, due to a somewhat checkered past, and his lone wolf status. He is seeking companionship.
Bio: Riverlight was exiled from his birth pack. A long hidden family feud had been transpiring between his family and another. It came to a head when two wolves killed his elder brother, who had been a mentor to Riverlight. Enraged, Riverlight killed the two wolves in their sleep. His brother avenged, Riverlight tried to pass the blame from him, but the alpha of his pack eventually discovered the truth, and Riverlight was sent away to live in the empty lands where no pack would tread. He has wandered ever since. Years in the wilderness have softened him a good deal, so he is still sad at times, but no longer angry. He has had a dream to form his own pack of those outcasted by their own.
Appearance (in case you're interested): Riverlight is of slight build and average height. He has bright silver fur, and dark grey circles around his golden-white eyes. He has a large bushy tail. -
Shadepool nodded gruffly. Windclan's borders had been hotly contested of late, and he was troubled. He looked back at the group. Clearing his throat, he said,
"Any of you want to come on a border patrol? I don't think it's been done yet today." -
[OOC: Please take this gently, as I don't mean it in a harsh sense at all. Since you're trying to improve your RP skills, I would advise you check for spelling. Grammar's mostly ok, but there are a few typos. Again, merely offered in the spirit of friendly advice. Also, sorry I can't do the circle above Stayn's name.]
RiverLight growled under his breath. He had been stalking the dark wolf who was out to kill the young she-wolf. His heart quailed at the dark wolf's cruel words. He steadied himself, golden eyes locked on Stayn's brother. This was his chance. He knew the time had come to act, to bring long-dormant battle skills to life once more. Taking one last breath, RiverLight leaped at Stayn's brother, a flash of silver fur illuminated by the rising moon.

Shadepool nodded.
"Excellent. Anyone else? Two cats does not a full patrol make."
He looked out to the field horizon
And we'll need a lot more than that if there's going to be more border fights, he thought.[OOC: Sorry my posts are so short]

Shadepool looked at the two apprentices.
"We should probably get going then. Any others can catch up if you decide to come."
He turned to walk through the grass towards the WindClan borders, a slight heaviness in his step. -
This is a roleplay for the Amber Chronicles by Roger Zelazny. Note that I've only read the Corwin series (i.e., the first 5 books, so 6-10 are out).

[OOC: It's fine. I get days like that. As a question, do you want Stayn's brother alive, or can I kill him?]

[OOC: It's cool. Life happens. I'll be ready to reply whenever you can post :)]
Riverlight leaped onto his opponent's back, claws digging into fur. With a yelp, Stayn's brother backed off, snarling and clawing at the ground. He swept Riverlight off his feet with a powerful pounce. Riverlight wrestled for control, at last shaking his enemy off his chest and getting to his feet. The two wolves exchanged blows, equal in power, intensity, skill and ferocity. At last, Riverlight managed to sink his teeth into his enemy's neck. Stayn's brother staggered, and dropped to the ground.
Riverlight panted heavily. The fight had taken a good deal out of him, and while he was pleased to know that he was still in fighting shape, the battle had awoken a rage within him that he wasn't entirely comfortable with. Putting this aside for the moment, he wandered over to where Stayn was.
"Are you alright?" he asked cautiously. -
[OOC: It's spelled Although. Sorry my post is short.]
"I did...what I had to do," he said with an air of determination. He paced around the area a few moments, then turned his head.
"I'm Riverlight, by the way," he offered, then looked at the body. "Old mate?" he asked, gesturing his head in that direction. -
Riverlight looked at her in shock.
"I'm so sorry. Your parents, I mean," he said in a concerned tone. "Where are you going to go? Do you have other relatives or allies?" he asked. He knew that it was probable that Stayn would have to wander, but he chose not to emphasize this. -
Riverlight nodded at Stayn's story with an empathic gaze. He knew he would have to speak carefully. Clearing his throat, he said,
"I too am a rogue, or at least...a wanderer. I was exiled from my pack. I have been alone ever since. If you want to be alone, I can respect that, but I would welcome any company."He said it quietly. There was a calm in his voice that seemed measured, yet also slightly tinted with sorrow. He looked at Stayn as he said it, then slowly withdrew his gaze and looked out to the mountains.

Is this open to new players? Tracking with interest.

Riverlight looked back at Stayn.
"Of course. I would be happy to have someone with me. I must tell you, though, I have only very vague designs on where we would be going or what to do once we get there. It will be a wandering existence. I hope you are prepared for that," said Riverlight, turning all the way to face her as he did so. The moon was just beginning to come up into the sky, a glittering orb of silver.
