[font=times new roman]The wind was crisp. The air was chill. The whispers of the forest were cold. The moon was shone brightly above, it's luminescent glow overcasting a small form. The form, was none other than cat, though.. Something wasn't right. The feline stood at the edge of the gorge, it's claws deep into the ground, as if the cat was hanging on for dear life. It's chest was heaving, and it's eyes were narrowed. The cat's pelt was darker than black satin itself, and it's eyes were a light shade of grey; Almost like a sea after a storm. Without a doubt, this cat was female. But something was wrong.. Terribly wrong...
"Brokenpaw! What in StarClan's name are you doing?!" Snapped the booming voice of the apprentice's mentor, Wildclaw. The she-cat stood with her ears flattened and her tail between her legs, with a stone in her jaws, "N-Nothing, Wildclaw.." She murmured, setting the rock on the ground. Her friend Cherrypaw stood beside her and smirked, giggling under her breath at her friend's mishap. Brokenpaw shot her a glare, "Shut it, Cher." She growled before glancing back over at Wildclaw, who had his normal menacing stare. She whimpered as his voice boomed once more, "Brokenpaw.. Come with me." The she-cat sighed and nodded, slowly padding over toward his side, "Faster!" At the command, she hurried after him, her ears flattened to her skull. Once the two were out of ear shot, the large tom turned towards her, his tail lashing, "Do you know what you did wrong?" He hissed, trying to keep himself calm. Brokenpaw blinked and shook her head, "N-No..? Cherrypaw and I were just playing.. And.." Wildclaw snapped his gaze over to her and snarled, "Playing!? You were just.. Playing?! Okay.. Well when you two are playing and Cherrypaw ends up like a failure like you, come back to me and we'll talk about what you did wrong!" He growled. Brokenpaw whimpered and nodded, tears brimming her eyes. Why did he have to bring that up? Why did he have to hold that against her..? Why..?
Tears formed in the she-cat's eyes as that scene played in her mind. It happened a while ago, but it still meant a lot to her. Brokenangel whimpered and cringed slightly, her claws sinking deeper into the gorge's side. This wasn't fair. Nothing was in life anymore...
"Cherrypaw! Cherrypaw, wait up!" The she-cat called after her only friend, her eyes full of concern. Once the she-cat was in distance, she flicked her tail onto her shoulder, her smile wide, "Cher?" She asked, only to have Cherrypaw snap a glare at her, "Look, you frog-brain. I can't be seen talking to you any more, got that? You're a freak." Brokenpaw gasped under her breath, her eyes glossy. The she-cat staggered back a bit, her legs feeling unstable. "Cher..." She whispered, her ears flattening, "I thought we.. We were friends?" Cherrypaw chuckled bitterly, "Well not anymore. Stay away from me, from now on, okay?" She hissed, before stalking off towards the other apprentices. Brokenpaw's breathing came in short gasps. Her only friend.. Turned on her.. And because of what? That she would never understand..
Brokenangel choked back a sob, cringing once more. The moonlight's gleam was brighter now, and she was fully shown. The she-cat was indeed as black as midnight, her grey eyes light and full of sadness, anger, depression, and confusion.. Who could cause.. So much mental pain to one she-cat? Well.. It was many cat's.. Not just one.
"You're new name is.. Brokenangel!" The cat's of ShadowClan were quiet, except for the occasional murmur of distaste. The black satin she-cat sat next to her leader, her eyes bright. Then, one voice spoke up. The one voice she dreaded to hear most, "Angel? Her name is Brokenangel? Ha! More like.. Ugly disgrace." Her father. Brokenangel gasped lightly, her ear's flattening. The leader growled, "That's enough." Brokenangel shook her head and leaped down from the leader's side, darting towards camp entrance. She didn't care that it was a clan meeting. How dare her own father treat her so coldly at her own warrior ceremony?! Tears were already forming in her eyes, and her chest was heaving.. This wasn't right.. How could so many cat's hate her.. When all she did was give them love in return..?
Brokenangel was now on the ground, sobbing, with tears streaming down her face. "How could they.. How... How could they..?" She murmured, choking back another sob, though it didn't work. She cringed once more, gripping the edge of the gorge tighter.. This didn't look like it was going to end well...
Brokenangel sniffed and straightened herself out for a moment, blinking away her subtle tears. She gasped lightly and stared at the gorge in front of her. All of her pain.. All of her misery and suffering.. Could be ended right there. And all she had to do was jump. Closing her eyes for a moment, she took in a deep breath and shifted a paw towards the edge. Opening her eyes, she crouched, looking as if she were about to jump.
"StarClan, send me a savior."
