"Fine, fine," he mumbled as he walked through the doorway, ducking his head to avoid running into the wall. Outside, the sky was still pink from the early sun. He glanced around, making sure the coast was clear, and then walked ahead, motioning for Alla to follow. "I can rinse off, and then we can go hunting. My stomach is dying for something that has a heartbeat. Berries and corn aren't cutting it for someone like me." he pointed to the large canines in his mouth, three inches long each. "I wasn't meant to eat fodder like a cow." The grass sprouting up in crack in the old, broken down road was soft on the pads of his feet, calming him some.

He unbuttoned his vest and pants, those also resting next to his blade in the grass. Wading into the stream, he dropped in and scrubbed his fur, trying to wipe away any grime from the past few days. Grimm splashed the fresh water up on his face as he yawned. He sat in the water, feet crossed, and started to paddle up stream, water rippling over his fur, soothing his aching joints and muscles. As he drifted for a moment, Grimm spotted salmon sitting in the water. He lunged forward, swiping at the fish, but coming at empty handed. When the water settled, they were long gone. Frustrated, he climbed out onto the bank and shook his body, sending sprinkles of water in every direction. Dressing in his pants, he grabbed his vest and sword. "Ready to go hunting?" Grimm called out to Alla.

Ugh. He hated when it was sunny like this. Having a body covered in fur wasn't easy. In fact, it sucked in the warm seasons. Grimm got hot easily in this weather. He wiped sweat beading up through his fur on his forehead with the back of his hand, and kept trekking through the forest, the grass soft on the pads of his feet. His tail flicked behind him, anxious. Grimm was looking for deer, but it was hard for someone like him to sneak up on one. He was eight feet tall for Christ's sake! At the sound of voices, Grimm froze. Were those humans? Hee crouched down, slinking across the wet earth silently.

It was near impossible for him to sneak around, so he wasn't surprised they had found him. His eyes narrowed at the bird girl and the woman covered in cheetah spots. The fur on his back rose up against his vest and he narrowed his eyes at them. "State your names," he hissed, his voice low and serious as he stepped closer, towering over both.

The forest was silent, not even a squirrel or hare around. This was frustrating to Grimm. There was plenty of food around for them, but the animals were next to a broken down city filled with hungry people. Just as Grimm thought about turning back to the church, a twig broke. No way in hell....This couldn't be. Grimm motioned for Alla to crouch down with him as he peered over a bush and saw three doe munching on foliage.

Humans were slower and smaller than his kind. Even a cheetah like her would be dragged down by her human side. "I won't ask again. If you refuse, I'll assume you're a threat." Grimm took his sword, half his height, and brought it down to his side as he kept his mint green eyes on the two strangers.

"What, you think that would kill me? Even the whole magazine would only slow me down, mutt. Go ahead. Shoot. I dare you to." He grinned, baring his fangs at the halfling. "You're definitely half human. Only humans resort to such cowardice as guns. That only means you have little faith in your skills. I don't blame you though. What, with someone of your stature, you probably can't fight much, can you?" The tip of his blade sank into the ground and he swung it down into the ground, staring her down intensely.

This was wear being an animalia benefitted. Speed and power. He leaped out of the underbrush with an ear shattering roar and tore across the earth at the scrambling deer. Rapidly, he caught up to the smaller creatures and tackled the one at the back of the group. Grimm's talons tore through it's back haunches, dragging it down. The animal bleeted and shrieked as it was tackled by him. The doe's legs flailed wildly, clipping Grimm's face as he brought his fangs down on it's throat. Violently shaking his head, the body of the animal went limp in Grimm's jaws. He looked up at Alla in the bushes, prideful at the prey he had killed in his mouth.

Grimm threw the deer over his shoulders like a lamb, and felt it's head bend at an awkward angle and hit his shoulder. "Grab my sword and vest please," He asked quietly as he walked by. All he could think about as he walked, was venison steaks.

He had a soft spot for the small creature like a human would have for a puppy. She seemed so fragile to him, so he felt protective of her. He held up the deer and dropped it onto the ground. "We will eat well today," he mused. Suddenly, the bat hanging from the tree caught his eyes. No. That wasn't a bat. That was another animalia. Rushing forward, he bared his fangs and let a snarl rip through his throat as he brought out his sword. Grimm stepped in the space between Natalia and the creature, glaring with fury at the stranger.

The last thing he needed was an intruder threatening the group.

He didn't trust this other animalia. The only other one's he had seen in his lifetime were his mother and father, though he knew of others out there. He had heard of polar bear animalia up north, the only other animalia larger than him. This bat was shorter and skinnier, yes, but he knew animalia were deceiving. He had massive wings and teeth sharp enough to break his skin. Claws too. And that girl....she was part bat too, though not as dramatically as him. Grimm bunched his leg muscles together, ready to spring at either of them if they made a move.
