[Even better plan >:3]
"I was trying to find you, actually." Greed said simply, not unwilling to admit the truth. "...I was right, you actually make dresses look wearable..."
Ling shook his head a bit, disturbed now. "That's not it." he said simply, getting to his feet, eyes narrowing a bit as he glanced around.
[You want to be the mugger or me?]
-
Greed was about to reply, but suddenly he smelled something off... beer, lots of it. He glanced behind himself. spotting a man approaching the two of them. "What the h*ll do you w-" he started, as the man drew, of all things... a gun. "Give me your cash, losers." the drunk said flatly, a bit slurred because he was so obviously drunk, raising the gun and taking aim.
Ling shook his head a bit. "Let's just go find them... I have a bad feeling about this."
-
Greed saw the rage in the man's eyes, and he only had a few seconds to get between Nezumi and that gun before the man tried to shoot the gray-eyed teen... instead the bullet caught Greed high in the shoulder and he stumbled, but din't fall. "B*stard, you'll pay for that!"
Ling frowned a bit, glancing down-either something was messing with his head, or his ankle was already better. "I should be fine, yeah."
-
Greed glanced back at Nezumi, smiling just a bit; this was rather ironic, at least to him. "Go find the others." he said simply, ducking to the side and lashing out again, this time kicking the man in the head... but once more, he was shot, this time in the leg. "F*CK, that HURTS!!"
Ling tensed when he heard another shot, then darted off in the direction where it was coming from. "Come on!"
-
Either that mugger was smarter then he looked, or he wasn't so drunk, Ling wasn't sure, but he watched as the man ducked back... then he realized Greed was bleeding. Instantly he lost his temper, drawing his sword and ducking behind the man. "Go away." he said simply, cutting his head off as Greed finally collapsed to the ground.
-
Ling wiped a bit of blood off of his face, then he noticed the look on Sion's face. "Sorry about that." he said simply, wiping off his blade and sheathing it once more.
Greed shook his head a bit, rubbing his side. "Son of a b!tch..." he said simply, trailing off to frown. "He didn't hit anything too vital, I think..."
-
Ling shook his head a bit, lifting the corpse up over his shoulder. "Can you stand?" he asked Greed, but the other ignored him, so he picked up the head in his other hand, holding it by the hair as he moved for a dumpster.
Greed glanced up and smiled a bit, shaking his head. "Don't worry about it. I keep forgetting I don't heal like I used to." he said simply, trying to stand.
-
"I don't like sitting in one spot." Greed muttered, annoyed as he sat back down, one hand held to the wound in his side. "It's annoying, injuries or not."
Ling dumped the dead man into the dumpster, then glanced back at Sion, muttering a bit to himself. "I wasn't just going to let him shoot any of you, now could I?"
-
Ling shrugged, not exactly seeing what was wrong with this. "Then they come looking for me, I'd guess. I'll explain that one of the people I know was being attacked." he said calmly, walking over to give Sion a hug.
Greed glanced to him again and smiled, nodding a bit. "A-All right." he said simply, though he wasn't fond of the idea.
-
Ling sighed and hugged Sion, frowning now. "I really am sorry about that." he said softly, wishing now he'd merely knocked the man out.
Greed watched him go, gently rubbing he wound-he was feeling for the bullet, but he couldn't find it. "D*mn..."
-
"No, you're fine." Greed said with a light laugh, then he made a pained sound. "...my side still hurts, though... but that's not your fault."
Ling smiled back at him, nodding just slightly. "What do we do now? Head home?" he asked, then he flinched-when had he started thinking of their place as home...?
-
Greed still felt horrible, though he felt oddly relaxed by the singing. "What is that, Xingese?" he asked, feeling lightheaded now.
Ling followed after the others, frowning a bit when he saw Greed's head drooping, btu he said nothing.
-
"That's nice." Greed said absently, closing his eyes a moment, then forcing them back open-why did he feel so tired? It was then he realized.
Ling frowned slightly, noting that Greed still seemed out of it... then it hit him. "One of those bullets likely hit his wings." he said, darting after Nezumi and catching up. "If so, we need to fix it... NOW." Or he'll bleed to death, most likely.
-
Ling sighed a bit, pressing his palms together, and the mere action got Greed to open his eyes again, but before he could speak Ling tore his jacket off, located the bullet hole-which was definitely leaking a lot of blood-and sealed the wound using alchemy, red sparks flying. "We fix it like that."
-
"That wasn't possible, unless... what did you do, Ling." Greed demanded, sitting up and fixing his hard stare on the prince, and for a moment Ling said nothing, then he finally spoke. "Before I knew you were back... I tried to bring you back." he said flatly, then he turned and walked off, leaving Greed to stare wordlessly after him.
-
Greed rubbed his leg, looking rather worried. "Human Transmutation... he went that far? Je could have killed himself." he said absently, then he glanced up and, after a moment, tried to stand before he fell back down. "No... there's still a bullet in my left leg..."
Ling didn't glance back once, not wanting to look at Greed any longer.
-
"Nezumi, honestly, I never want to see you get hurt." Greed said simply, closing his eyes and trying to not move; he hated feeling confined, yet this... no, it wasn't that that was getting him, it was how close they were.
Ling glanced to Sion and sighed again, shaking his head. "Human Transmutation is forbidden because most of the people that try it end up dead." he said simply.
-
"No, you wouldn't have been, considering he was aiming for your head." Greed shot back, actually a bit angry now.
"The Truth asks you for something in exchange... and most aren't skilled enough, so you die. You don't get anything from it, either." Ling said absently, examining his palms a moment. "I was lucky to live, but... I got the voices in my head, and my memories are screwed up."
-
"He was intent on shooting you and taking your cash." Greed said, oddly gentle now. "And... I shouldn't have snapped, I'm sorry..."
Ling glanced to Sion, smiling a bit now. "I'm used to it, really. And..." he started before nudging the other with his shoulder. "I'm happy, at least sometimes, and that's good too, right?"
-
For a moment Greed was too stunned to do anything, but he smiled just a bit and kissed back, not sure why Nezumi was doing this.
[o3o]
Ling smiled at his enthusiasm, glad he had someone around like Sion, then he hugged him with one arm as he walked. "Where do we go now, huh?"
