Ember curled her body around her kit and gently groomed his fur.

Ember purred softly and licked his ear.

" I love you little one." Ember purred softly to Greystorm.

Silverheart shook her head. Then she went into her den and got cobwebs, marigold, and poppy seeds.

Ember smiled and rested her muzzle on his tiny flank. That was a mistake. She lifted her head from the awkward position and rested it on the ground.

Frostclaw growled playfully, then stomped around the clearing, acting like a badger.

Frostclaw pawed some raspberry leaves over to Silverstream." Eat these." He urged.

Cinder shook her head. " something about that cub doesn't seem right." She growled.

Frostclaw licked the kit untill it started breathing.

Cinder's eyes darkened." Cubs can do much more harm than cats think." She growled darkly.

" Something's wrong" Frostclaw muttured," The next kit is really big. It may get stuck."

Frostclaw sat back in his haunches. His eyes were shadowed with worry. " It's up to Silverstream now. We can't help her." He sighed.

Cinder glanced at Fire. " You don't want to know." She muttured," it's hard for me to talk about it"

Frostclaw twitched the tip of his tail.

" Yes you can!" Frostclaw insisted.

Maple licked Fire's cheek. She glanced at the cub, then suddenly growled and backed away. Its eyes were full of hatred, anger, and evil.

" look at it's eyes." Maple whispered.

" Dont you see it? It's eyes are full of hatred and anger." Maple said softly and pressed against Fire.

Maple shivered and drew closer to Fire. " That look. It was the look my father had in his eyes before his killed my mother and my litter mates." Maple whispered.
