"Hado number 54: Haien!" Asami cried. The resulting spell was messy and exploded a yard or two away from Asami. She leapt back, staying in the river and shouted: "Ame no Kisu, Tetsu no Kabe!" The water hat had been inching up her arm and her sword merged to create a large shield. Please let this be enough, Asami thought, bracing for the impact.

Asami let the shield melt back into water as she threw herself into the river, letting the force of the impact send her skidding across the surface. Jammed fingers, sprained wrist, she thought.
-
Asami summoned the shield again, but it was slowly giving way under the furious assault.
-
"Bakudo number 39: Enkosen." Asami murmeredA shield of condensed spiritual pressure formed underneath he iron one. "Ame no Kisu, attack." Ame no Kisu changed into a sharp spike, attempting to stab Kiana. She noticed Hisagi running over and Grimmjow reaching for him. "Hisagi, watch out!" she shouted her attention wavering.
-
Asami swore loudly. "That's it! Ye lord, mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado number 33: Sokatsui!" the spell blasted apart her shields and went straight at Kiana. Asami used the opportunity to slip back a bit and regain her composure.
-
"NO!" Asami screamed. "Hado number 4: Byakurai," she cried, knowing it was useless. The spell was swallwed up by the cero.
-
Asami plunged her hands into the water. "Bakudo number 39: Enkosen!" a sheild appeared below her. "Hado number 11: Tsuzuriraiden!" she shouted, filling the water with the electric current.
-
Asami started for Hisagi, but stopped, not wanting to miss the opportunity. "Wait just a moment," she murmered. She carefully took aim at Kiana. "Hado number 31: Shakkaho!" She then ran toward Hisagi.
-
Asami confirmed that Hisagi was just unconsious and stood up beside him. She sheathed the remains of Ame no Kisu and planted her feet. "He's unconsios, but I think he'll be ok," Asami said, her eyebrows knitted together with worry and pain.
-
"Hisagi," Asami knealt next to him. "Are you alright? Are you?!"
-
"Good," Asami said softly. She sighed with relief in her head, which jerked up when she heard Ichigo's fall. "When are you going to give up," she called to Kiana, advancing.
-
"You don't remember anything?" Claire asked. This isn't good at all, she thought.

Streampaw stared at her paws, and shifted shyly. "Her name is Linda," she said quietly. "She was left here by her two-legs." She crouched lower.
-
A very dark grey she-cat watched from a distance, her ice blue eyes filled with a deadly gleam. "Tch," she said to herself. "Another fight. I suppose this puts me in danger, too, so..." She bounded over to the group of cats. "Surprise," she murmered as she launched herself into the fray.
-
Asami returned to Hisagi, remaining wary of the arrancars. "Don't strain yourself," she said to him. She winced as a spike of pain drove through her abdomen.
-
"Alright," Asami said, looking at her hands. She moved off to the side.
-
Asami closed her eyes for a moment, relieved. "That's good," she said, opening her eyes. "Thank you for coming. You saved our lives."
-
Asami's hand twitched at the sound. She glanced at Hisagi, keeping her head facing her hands, then looked back down. One of her fingers was beginning to swell more than the rest and was bleeding slightly. She covered it with her other hand.
-
When Asami felt Hisagi's head fall on her shoulder, she froze. She started blushing. He's touching me, she thought. She looked over noticing how tired he looked. Not knowing what else to do, and secretly enjoying the contact, Asami let Hisagi lean on her.
