Duskkit saw a rabbit out of the corner of his eye. " Meeeooow!" Duskkit yowled, barreling into the rabbit and killing it instantly.

The kit wriggled around beside his mother. "Momma!" The the sooty black tom squeaked.

" So, how does it work? You teach me how to fight then I fight you?" Duskpaw asked.

" Scorpionpaw? Shall we fight to test my new technique?" Eaglepaw asked. He thought that if the Demon of Bloodclan saw him win a fight, he would be next to fight Jokerpaw.

" Momma! Me wanna name!" The black kit squeaked.

"Okay." Duskpaw said, readying himself for a lunge. First he leapt and bit Fireblaze's leg. Then he clawed and scratched her. Then Duskpaw ran round in circles, creating several copies of himself. "Come on! Attack us!" they all mewed at once.

"Ugh! That sound was revolting!" Eaglepaw exclaimed. He felt sick but itched to join in.

" Ace? That gweat name!" Ace squeaked. He made his mother laugh with his broken speech.

" If you get killed, I'll pray for you to go to Starclan." Eaglepaw whispered to Hollowpaw, taking his place behind her ready for his turn. He flexed his claws as he prepared.

" Ow!" Duskpaw yelled, tripping over fireblaze's outstretched paw. " I think I need to work harder." he said in a quivering voice.

" Sheesh, sorry." Eaglepaw said irritably." I don't want you stuck with those Dark Forest ruffians."

" It uses up a lot of energy. When I was a Kittypet, I was often refused food. So I tried running round my twolegs's legs. I got better at it, until my Twoleg started calling me the 'kitty Cyclone'." Duskpaw replied. " Anyway, plenty more where that came from!"

Duskpaw did his spinning trick again, before lunging out from the circle, hoping to take Fireblaze by surprise. He aimed to bite her leg again.

"One of my hunting tactics," Duskpaw said."I wanted to check if it would work in fights with other clans."

"Yeah." Duskpaw said.

" Okay. Mmmm. I smell rabbits nearby." Duskpaw said, turning his head to the right and licking his lips. He lunged for the rabbit, and a sickening squelch was heard as it was killed by a single blow.

" I'm good at hunting only because my twoleg used to tell me to rid of the 'vermin'. Of course, all cats know that they are called prey." Duskpaw said.

"I agree! So, Fireblaze, what next?" Duskpaw replied.
