Frostkit sat impatiently next to his litter mates. Hawkkit, Dawnkit, and Sunkit were trying to think of a game to play. "Why don't we play moss ball?" said Dawnkit. "Because we play that everyday!" said Sunkit. Hawkkit looked at her mother sadly. "Tangletalon why can't we be apprentices?" she said. "You're only four moons old" Tangletalon said. "But we are brave and strong enough!" said Frostkit. "It's against the warrior code mouse brain!" said Dawnkit. "Why don't you go ask Twistedwhisker for advice?" said Tangletalon. "Good idea!" said Sunkit. As they ran out of the nursery Frostkit spotted Twistedwhisker emerging through the camp entrance with fresh kill in his jaws. The kits sprinted toward him. "Twistedwhisker! Help us find out what game to play!" said Sunkit. "I'm sorry kits I must speak to Ivystar" he said. He walked toward Ivystar's den and called inside. Then he walked in and the kits waited for him to come back. After a while Ivystar emerged with Twistedwhisker behind her and jumped onto the rock pile. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the rock pile for a clan meeting!" she said. The cats emerged and Twistedwhisker shooed the kits back to Tangletalon. "Cats of Riverclan" said Ivystar. "A fox has been spotted in our territory". The cats that were gathered growled with disgust. "Scarnose will take a patrol out a try to find the fox and chase it off. Until then kits will stay in the camp, the apprentices will train with caution, and the warriors will keep a sharp lookout for any signs of the fox. Clan dismissed!" The warriors gathered around Scarnose awaiting orders for patrols. "They seem pretty mad about the fox" said Dawnkit. "I'd hate to run into it" said Hawkkit. As the kits chattered on Tangletalon swept them toward the nursery with her tail. "Will you four promise me you won't go looking for the fox?" said Tangletalon. "I'd never want to go looking for a creature that even warriors have to keep a look out for!" said Sunkit. Frostkit and Hawkkit nodded their heads in agreement, and Dawnkit pressed close to Tangletalon shivering. "Good" said Tangletalon. "Nothing good ever comes out of curious kits looking for trouble" she said. Two moons passed and the fox still wasn't seen. Traces of it's scent lingered here and there, and a few dead pieces of prey, but it hadn't confronted any cat or been seen near the Riverclan camp. Frostkit was playing in the clearing with his litter mates. "When will we be apprentices?" said Hawkkit. "In a few days" said Tangletalon. "I wish we could become apprentices now" said Sunkit. "Yeah! Then we could hunt!" said Dawnkit. "Don't forget about practicing battle moves!" said Frostkit. "Slow down kits! There's much more to becoming apprentices and warriors than just hunting and fighting" said Tangletalon. At that moment the most terrifying thing happened. The fox that the clan was searching for barged through the camp entrance with a menacing growl. Tangletalon and Twistedwhisker picked up the kits and ran for the nursery. Twistedwhisker and Tangletalon put them down and charged out ready to confront the fox. Twistedwhisker charged toward it and ripped his claws across it's muzzle. Tangletalon guarded the nursery growling every time the fox came near. As Twistedwhisker lunged forward to scratch the fox on the flank, it spun around and bit Twistedwhisker's shoulder. It tore out some of his flesh and was bleeding heavily. Twistedwhisker slunk away to find Berrythorn, the medicine cat, to help stop the bleeding before he lost to much blood, but he collapsed in the corner of the clearing. Berrythorn rushed toward him and tried to patch up his wound. Tangletalon was watching Twistedwhisker and didn't realize the fox advancing toward her. It grabbed her by the throat and tossed her against the rock pile. The fox came nearer to her and was about to give a killing bite to her throat, when Frostkit jumped on the fox's back and was scratching with all his might. Sunkit and Dawnkit were biting it's legs while Hawkkit would swipe at it's muzzle whenever it got distracted. "Dawnkit bite it's tail!" said Sunkit as he bit the fox's leg so hard that blood started spilling out. "Hawkkit make sure you stay clear of it's jaws!" said Frostkit. Tangletalon was regaining her strength and joined the kits to help drive it out of camp. At that moment both the hunting and border patrols barged through the camp entrance and launched into attack. Scarnose slashed at the fox's muzzle . Stormheart bit into it's shoulder with all his might. Nightclaw and Volefur were taking turns sliding underneath it and slashing at it's belly and biting it's legs. Ivystar jumped onto it's back and dug her claws into it. She wrapped her jaws around it's throat and growled threateningly. The fox was terrified and it started whimpering. Ivystar ordered the warriors off of it and Scarnose, Volefur, and Stormheart cased it off of their territory. Berrythorn was finished with Twistedwhisker's shoulder, so she rushed to aid the injured cats. Honeypaw was at her side working without hesitation. The medicine cat's apprentice rushed over to check on the kits after she was finished putting ointment on Nightclaw's shoulder. As Honeypaw checked over the kits she realized that none of them had been injured in their brave attempt to save their mother. "You know" said Honeypaw. "It's a blessing from Starclan to have such brave kits". "Yes, I know" said Tangletalon. "They saved my life". As Berrythorn and Honeypaw finished healing the last of the warriors, and Scarnose, Stormheart, and Volefur came back from chasing off the fox, Ivystar leaped onto the rock pile and called below. "Cats of Riverclan" she said. "It's no question that these four kits are ready to become apprentices. They are six moons old, and they have proven their bravery many times over". She paused and took a deep breath. "Frostkit please step forward" she said. Frostkit stepped forward. Excitement was fizzing beneath his pelt and he started to tremble."Starclan, will you look down on this apprentice and help teach him the ways of our warrior ancestors?" she said. Then she looked at Frostkit. "Do you promise to uphold the duties of an apprentice?" said Ivystar. "I do" Frostkit said excitedly. "Then by the powers of Starclan I name you Frostpaw" said Ivystar. "Feathersplash will you take on this apprentice and teach him your intelligence and great tracking skills?" she said. "I will" said Feathersplash. Then Ivystar stepped toward Frostpaw and touched her nose to his head, and he licked her shoulder. Then Frostpaw stepped back to join his clan mates. "Frostpaw! Frostpaw!" they all yelled. Ivystar then continued on naming Hawkpaw, Sunpaw, and Dawnpaw as apprentices. Sunpaw's mentor was Otterfang, Hawkpaw's was Yarrowpelt, and Dawnpaw's was Hawkcloud. Twistedwhisker and Tangletalon looked at their kits with pride and love shining in their eyes. Dawnpaw sat there thinking while looking at Tangletalon, remembering what Honeypaw said about her and her kin. "What if Starclan didn't bless us and make us so brave?" she thought. "Would Tangletalon be alive?" She sat there for a brief moment running the events through her head, and remembering the menacing fangs and death glare. "No" she thought. "The fox would have killed her".

It was a sunny day, and the forest was rich with prey. "Remember to pick your tail off the ground when you're in your hunting crouch" said Otterfang. Sunpaw was ready to catch a squirrel. He hadn't caught one yet in his apprenticeship, but he had caught many other pieces of prey. "You'll have to be fast" said Otterfang. Sunpaw nodded his head. "If you startle it, it will run to the nearest tree. You'll have to try to catch before it makes it to the tree, and make sure you're not downwind, or it'll scent you" she said. "Ok I will" said Sunpaw. They opened their mouths trying to scent any squirrels, or prey in general. There! A squirrel was nibbling on an acorn about ten fox lengths away. Sunpaw crept near it, making sure he wasn't downwind, and dropped into his hunters crouch. He lifted his tail off of the ground and slowly slithered forward. He saw Otterfang get into a position near a tree just in case it ran toward her. Sunpaw waited for the squirrel to start nibbling again. Then he pounced. Got it! He caught the squirrel just before it looked up again, and leaned down and gave the killing bite. "Nice catch!" said Dawnpaw as she emerged through the weeds. "I can barely understand you with those fish in your mouth" said Sunpaw. "I said nice catch" said Dawnpaw. "And she's right" said Otterfang. "That was a very neat catch" she said proudly. "I'm just happy that I finally caught something other than fish and water voles" said Sunpaw. "I'm sure Addertail will be very pleased to have a squirrel" said Otterfang. "She's been complaining about only having fish for the past three days" she said. "Well, then it's her lucky day" said Sunpaw. As they walked into camp they saw that Ivystar was talking with Scarnose. "More Windclan trouble I'm guessing?" said Sunpaw. Otterfang nodded her head. "They've been crossing the border again" she said. Sunpaw walked to the elders den to give Addertail the squirrel. Dawnpaw walked over to Frostpaw. "Do you think that there will be a battle with Windclan?" she said. "If they keep crossing the border, then yes" said Frostpaw. "Ivystar is becoming more and more furious every time they do". Ivystar becoming furious was not a good thing. When she was an apprentice she raked her claws across Weaslefoot's muzzle. The tom was taunting her because she hadn't caught any prey yet, and she got mad a slashed out at him. Her brother now has the scars to prove that messing with her is not a good idea. Eventually, Ivystar apologized to him for giving him the scars. He didn't care though because as soon as he saw the rage light in her eyes, he knew something bad was going to happen. Ivystar still is sad about the rage fit though. Every time she looks at her brother and sees the scars she starts to get that guilty look on her face. Dawnpaw was brought back to the present when she saw Ivystar jump on top of the rock pile. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather hear beneath the rock pile for a clan meeting" she yowled. Dawnpaw saw Sunpaw emerge from the elders den, and Hawkpaw sitting next to Tangletalon. "Cats of Riverclan" Ivystar began. "I have heard cats talking about whether we were going to battle Windclan or not. I have decided that we will warn them to not cross our borders again. At the next gathering if they have not stopped then I will simply imply that we will attack. I will not tell them when or how, only that we will" she said. "Until then, I will take a patrol to the Windclan camp. Apprentices, you will have to train your battle moves more. Not only water battle moves though, land as well. Warriors will keep watching that border heavily, but they will not ignore the other one. I want Weaslefoot, Twistedwhisker, Mayflower, Volefur, Dawnpaw, and Hawkcloud to come to Windclan with me. Clan dismissed!" she yowled. As she jumped down from the rock pile, Hawkcloud walked up to Dawnpaw. "Are you ready?" she asked her apprentice. "Yes, I'm ready" Dawnpaw replied. Deep down inside Dawnpaw was nervous. She had never met Windclan before. She jumped when Hawkcloud spoke again. "You're a very brave apprentice" she said. "I'm only brave on the outside" Dawnpaw replied. "I don't think that's true" said Hawkcloud. Ivystar walked out of camp with her patrol following her. They ran to the Windclan border and slowed to a stop. Ivystar scented the air. "A patrol is near" she warned. At that moment a yowl split the air and the Windclan patrol raced toward them. "What do you want?" a Windclan warrior spat. "Smokeflight, there is no need the be vile" said another. Dawnpaw recognized this one. Stormhawk, the Windclan deputy. She knew that he was a sensible cat, who always gave others a chance to tell their story. "I'm sorry for that" he said. "But, what are doing here?" Dawnpaw watched as the cats around her smoothed their fur down. "We would like to see Hollystar" said Ivystar. Stormhawk hesitated, considering the offer. "Alright, follow us" he said finally. Dawnpaw noticed that the only reason he agreed is because he knew that his patrol could never defeat theirs, and because he knew why they were there. The Riverclan cats followed the Windclan patrol, fluffing up their fur to protect them from the cold wind. The Windclan cats walked into their camp and stood in the center of the clearing, the Riverclan cats surrounded by them. Stormhawk turned to Ivystar. "Stay here" he said. He walked into a den, Dawnpaw guessed it was the leaders den, then came back with Hollystar following him. "Greetings Ivystar" she said. "Greetings Hollystar" Ivystar said with a hint of growl in her voice. "May I speak with you please?" said Ivystar. "Yes, follow me" said Hollystar. They walked into Hollystar's den. A young kit walked up to Dawnpaw. "Who are you?" he said. "I'm Dawnpaw of Riverclan" said Dawnpaw. "I'm Olivekit of Windclan" he said. "That's my sister over there" he said. "What's her name?" said Dawnpaw. "Breezekit" said Olivekit. Ivystar and Hollystar walked out of the leaders den. "If we find your clan's scent across the border again by the gathering then there will be a price to be paid" said Ivystar. "If we don't?" said Hollystar with a growl. "Then we will leave you be" said Ivystar reasonably. "Fine, Smokeflight, Rainstorm, Honeyflower, and Swiftface escort these mange pelts back to their territory" said Hollystar. "Gladly" said Smokeflight with a sinister smile. The Riverclan and Windclan cats walked back to the border. As the Riverclan cats crossed onto their territory Smokeflight yowled "Get off our territory fish breath!" to Ivystar. Then she flew into her rage fit. She spun around and hissed and spit at the tom screeching "At least my clan can stay to their own territory, unlike you fox hearted, flea bags!" Then Smokeflight broke. He raced across the border and attacked Ivystar on her own territory. Ivystar's rage got out of control. She spun out of his grip and slashed his face. Then grabbed him by the throat and flung him into the river. Ivystar jumped in and ducked underwater. She kicked his legs out from under him and held him underwater for a moment. Then she let him come up. He was gasping for air as Ivystar wrapped her jaws around his throat. Any second she would kill him, until she heard Weaslefoot yowl. "Ivystar stop! He's learned his lesson!" Ivystar immediately let go of his throat, but kept a death glare on him. She growled and spit at him. Smokeflight's eyes lit with pure terror and ran back to his clanmates. Dawnpaw heard Swiftface say "Serves you right for attacking a clan leader on her own territory" and Honeyflower say "Are you really mouse brained enough to attack Ivystar? She would have killed you if it wasn't for Weaslefoot". Dawnpaw was terrified. She knew that this was only the beginning. Twistedwhisker watched with horror how Ivystar had to calm herself down. "She would have killed Smokeflight" he thought. The battle hasn't even started yet. The next couple days were rough. The apprentice's battle training was twice as difficult. Windclan hadn't crossed the border though. Hawkpaw was so tired that during training she closed her eyes for a brief second, and ended up falling asleep. "Wake up!" said Weaslefoot. "Apprentices aren't supposed to be lazy! Or do you wish to be a kit again?" Hawkpaw guessed that the only reason he was being so rude is because he was more tired than she was. "Don't yell at my apprentice you fox hearted mouse brain!" said Yarrowpelt. All of Riverclan hadn't been getting along lately. With the extra training, making all the training longer and harder, the ordinary patrols, and extra patrols on the Windclan border, everyone was exhausted. As Hawkpaw's training session ended, Ivystar ordered that Weaslefoot and Yarrowpelt get some sleep. The two toms lumbered away, and Ivystar looked at Hawkpaw. "You should get some rest to" she said. "I saw you falling asleep out there". Hawkpaw nodded tiredly and walked toward the apprentices den. Ivystar was tired herself, but with most of her warriors asleep she didn't want to leave the camp unguarded. She mostly couldn't get her and Smokeflight's fight out of her head. Some of the warriors are scared to talk to her now. They shouldn't be though, the only reason that Ivystar attacked Smokeflight is because he attacked her first, on her own territory, and the fact that Windclan was already getting on her nerves. Weaslefoot knew that she was mad. He knew that she wouldn't be able to stop herself until it was too late. Ivystar got so lost in her thoughts that she didn't hear Scarnose walk up, or what he said. "Ivystar!" he said. She snapped her head toward him. "Huh?" she said. "You have to stop thinking about the fight" he said. "I know" she sighed. "So, anyways what were you saying?"she said. "We found Windclan scent on our side of the border" he said. "Ok, then we'll see if they do it again and go into battle if they do. We've already gone through this process" said Ivystar. "There's something else" said Scarnose. "We've also found a dead fish next to a rabbit's hole on our side of the border as well" he said. "They've sent a threat message?" said Ivystar. "I think so" said Scarnose. "What are we going to do?" he said. "For now, nothing" said Ivystar. "Remember we gave them until the gathering. I won't go back on my word unless they attack first". "But, Ivystar they'll think we're weak if we only ignore the threats!" said Scarnose. "No, I don't think that they will think that we are weak considering that they have an example of how we fight right there in their medicine cats den getting ointment on their scratches. They may be mad, but I'm furious. You just can't tell" said Ivystar. That's when Scarnose realized that Ivystar's fur was fluffed up. Her eyes were blazing. Her claws were dug into the ground. Her teeth were bared. "I don't mean to be rude but" he paused as she whipped her head toward him, looking like she would rip him apart. "You can defiantly tell" he finished. Ivystar turned her head to look at her reflection in the river. She saw how evil she looked. "I look like" she started. "Like your father" Scarnose finished. Darkclaw was Ivystar's father. He was a very evil cat who felt that the warrior code was worth nothing. He gathered many cats to help kill any cat who got in his way to pure power. When a cat saw him they couldn't help bowing down to him. He was the most terrifying looking cat in all the clans. He was killed by a cat who was his kin. A cat who loved him, but not his actions. As cat who looked exactly like him. Ivystar. She murdered her father by filling a fish she caught with death berries. She offered to hare it with him next to the river. When he died she pushed his body in it and buried the fish. They found his body the next day and presumed he'd drowned. The clan cats chased off the evil rouges and Ivystar became Riverclan's leader. Scarnose was only an apprentice at the time. "I do don't I?" said Ivystar. "Smooth down your fur, take that look off your face, sheath your claws, and calm down" Scarnose said. Ivystar did so. "Now look again" Scarnose said. Ivystar did so. "Now, who do you look like?" Scarnose said. Ivystar didn't answer. "You look like the real Ivystar. The one who saved us all. You may be kin with Darkclaw, but your heart is yours not his. You are not him. You are you. That's why Starclan made you leader. They knew you were going to make a great one, and you did. Actually, you're more than great. You're legendary" Scarnose said. "You sound like a medicine cat" Ivystar laughed. "Eh, I get that a lot" Scarnose replied. The two walked back into camp, and Ivystar saw that the clan was waiting to see what she was going to do about the threat. "What are we going to do Ivystar?" said Twistedwhisker. "Nothing" replied Scarnose. "Go rest" Scarnose said to Ivystar. "You're not looking to good". Ivystar nodded and walked to her den. One moon passed by and the clan was looking fit and healthy. No one was exhausted and they couldn't wait for the gathering. Windclan didn't stop crossing the border, so that meant that Ivystar was going to take them to battle. Ivystar was bringing Scarnose, Berrythorn, Honeypaw, Dawnpaw, Twistedwhisker, Weaslefoot, Yarrowpelt, Hawkcloud, Feathersplash, Otterfang, Mayflower, Volefur, Nightclaw, and Frostpaw to the gathering. They walked to the island only to find Windclan glaring at them. They took no notice and took their places beneath the tree. Shadowclan walked happily into the clearing only to find their smiles fading at the tension of Riverclan and Windclan. Thunderclan did the same. Thunderclan and Shadowclan cats started talking about the tension, but stopped when Icestar, Thunderclan's leader stepped forward. He started the gathering and gave his news. Then Hollystar gave hers and Harestar gave his. Then Ivystar stepped forward. "I would like to start with how well the prey is this season" she said. "Also everyone is looking very fit and healthy, which is great. But, there is one problem" she said looking at Windclan. "We've had a disturbance on our border. It seems like it will be continuous unless something is done about it. Something will be done about it. You can count on that. It will be vicious. It will be merciless. It will be cruel. In the end you'll be sad. You'll regret you ever started anything. Fight runs in a Riverclan cat's vein. You can be sure we'll use it. You won't know when we'll use it or how, but we will. We gave you until the gathering to stop crossing our borders. But, you've made it clear with your empty threats and frequent crossings that you want a fight. For the past moon we have been training harder and longer, and we are ready. You've seen what one of us can do. Just wait. When it's all of us. You'll wish you never messed with us" she said. She jumped off the tree and called back to Hollystar. "You made a big mistake" she yowled. The Riverclan cats left without saying another word, but the other clans stare in awe at them as the noticed the muscles rippling beneath their pelts for the first time. Ivystar was right. They were stronger. They were ready. They were mad. Frostpaw walked into camp tiredly. He just wanted to sleep. Ivystar said that they were going to attack when they were on their way back to camp. She said that they wouldn't expect it so early, so they had to. The next morning Ivystar gathered the whole clan together. "Leaftail, Willowfur, and Hazelhead will stay and guard the camp. The rest of the warriors and apprentices will follow me. Berrythorn and Honeypaw I want you to be ready with your herbs when we get back. Everyone who is staying behind will stay in camp" she said. Then they set off. They ran to the Windclan border and followed it up to the edge of their territory. They made sure that their scent wouldn't be blown in it. They kept going until they saw the dip in the land where their camp was. "Don't attack kits, queens, or elders understand?" Ivystar said. The cats nodded in agreement. Then they broke into a sprint. They charged down the slope as silently as they could, but the guard saw them. "Ambush! Windclan is being Ambushed!" he yowled. The Windclan warriors raced out of their den only to see the Riverclan warriors charging toward them. "Riverclan attack!" yowled Ivystar. Then the battle began. Cat scratched cat. Screeches split the air. One slashed at another. Dawnpaw and Hawkpaw fought side by side. They would scratch the other apprentices, and when the other was at a disadvantage, she would help. Twistedwhisker was rolling with Smokeflight in a flurry of claws and teeth. Tangletalon was swiping her claws at Honeyflower. Volefur and Nightclaw were fighting off Rainstorm and Swiftface. Mayflower and Stormheart were taking turns slashing and biting Crowpelt. Feathersplash and Otterfang were rolling with Nightfeather and Pinefur. Yarrowpelt, Hawkcloud, and Weaslefoot were all raging and spitting at other Windclan warriors. Spottedheart and Bramblestripe managed to drive some Windclan cats into the lake.Silverstone, Pebblenose, Tornclaw, and Redear were doing their water battle moves and combining them with normal battle moves. Runningbelly and Briarpelt were holding cats underwater letting them come up for a few seconds at a time. Cloverwing, Cedarleg, and Shellfur would bite cats legs making them collapse that way other cats could attack them at an advantage. Frostpaw was scratching a cats muzzle. Sunpaw was scratching ones flank. Scarnose was ferociously clawing at Stormhawk's pelt and biting his shoulder. Ivystar was wrestling with Hollystar as the two were trying to regain their balance, but keep the other on the ground. It was a mess. Blood covered the ground and yowls split the air. The Windclan camp was being destroyed. Kits were crying. Queens were shrieking. "Frostpaw turn around!" Dawnpaw said. Just in time too. He turned around to find Crowpelt lunging for him. He ducked, but that made Crowpelt plunge into Dawnpaw. "Dawnpaw!" Frostpaw yelled as he tried to help her get up. Two more Windclan cats came though, and they grabbed the two apprentices and started tearing them to shreds. Oh, but Starclan was with them. Just as the Windclan cats were about to give a killing blow, Silverstone and Pebblenose barreled into them. "Not today!" Pebblenose roared as he clawed at the Windclan cat's face. "This'll teach you not to mess with us again!" Silverstone yowled. Twistedwhisker was scratching at a cat's face when he saw a horrible sight. Mayflower and Tangletalon were pinned to the ground by two Windclan toms. The toms were going to give a killing bite when Twistedwhisker attacked them. The grabbed one by the throat and threw him out of the way. He hooked his claws into the other one's pelt and gave him deep scratches. Hollystar was still fighting with Ivystar. Ivystar was holding back her anger because she didn't want to kill any cat on accident. She stopped wrestling with Hollystar and looked at her. "Why must we do this? All you had to do was get your clan to stop crossing the border. Why did you have to cause this?" she said. Ivystar hated battles. It just meant more cats getting hurt, and she thought it was pointless. "We had to" Hollystar said regretfully. "We had no herbs. Our clan was sick with green cough". "Then why did you leave threats?" Ivystar said. "We didn't leave any threats" Hollystar said confused. "We found a dead fish next to a rabbits hole" Ivystar said. "Windclan cats can't catch fish. If there weren't any teeth marks then it probably jumped out of the river and died from lack of water" Hollystar said. "I suppose you're right. But, I must ask why you didn't just ask for the herbs" Ivystar said "We were afraid that if we asked we would be seen as weak" Hollystar said guiltily. "So, can we stop this madness?" Ivystar asked. "Yes please" Hollystar said. "Stop!" Ivystar yowled. The Windclan and Riverclan cats turned to look at her. "This is a pointless battle. Wasted blood, time, and energy. This battle was never over anything important. Just the problems that one clan was having with another. I say we all go back to our own territories and get some well needed rest". The cats all nodded their head. Scarnose walked up to Ivystar. "If this is a wasted battle then, what about the borders?" he said. "I'll explain it all when we get back to camp" Ivystar replied. "Right now, I'm just ready to leave Windclan alone". The Riverclan cats walked back to camp. Most of them were confused. They didn't know why the battle was stopped. They all walked into camp and sat around Ivystar. She proceeded to tell them how Windclan needed herbs, but wanted to keep their pride. "If it was that bad then they shouldn't have a problem with asking" Spottedheart said. "I'm just glad it is over" Volefur said. "That makes all of us" said Weaslefoot. Berrythorn and Honeypaw tended to everyone's wounds and went back to their den to get some sleep. Dawnpaw went back to the apprentices den. She lay in her nest thinking about the battle. "What a waste" she thought. "All that for nothing.....Turns out the battle with Windclan was just pointless bloodshed that could have been prevented". She lay there some more trying to remember how the border battle started. "Well, however it started it can't be changed now". She closed her eyes trying to fall asleep. "Too late" she thought as she fell into a deep sleep.
