In short, we can't include other people's Intellectual Property in something we want to call our own IP. If we want to create history, make something uniquely us, call it ours, it has to BE ours. If a group wants to be officially part of the site wide events that will occur after the rebuild, their name and what have you needs to be uniquely FeralFront, not based on something else.

Also, I think I once stated I would start banning people who made tracking posts when we have a sweet functionality for exactly that purpose > : |

With the ability to get notifications from a thread *without* posting in it, tracking posts clutter up a thread and make it more difficult to find the content people want.

For those who don't know about manage subscriptions, you're in for a treat! On desktop you can "Manage Subscriptions" (which can stop you from getting further notifications from a thread, or give you notifications from a thread even when you haven't posted) by going to the top of the page and clicking the little think that looks like a ribbon, or a bookmark. It's in the same bar as the "breadcrumb trail".

On mobile you tap the menu (the 3 stacked lines in the top left), click "Options" and then click "Manage Subscriptions".

As the subject suggests, staff are wondering (again, as I think we've asked once recently. ) what memorable events or physical landmarks you all have from your time on FeralFront. A physical landmark might be a huge waterfall or a volcano with a skull on the face of it, for example.

It's not so what is uniquely ours, but what specifically isn't uniquely ours. Direct references to existing IP are obvious no goes. The idea of a group with a name and leadership positions isn't something that someone could claim.

i'm still kinda confused about the rebuild in general though... mostly along with what canxers said. what does this mean for the site? if we're not doing warriors stuff anymore does that mean the traditional game will go? are we headed towards a more common theme that will change all of the clans or is part of the rebuild just distancing from warriors due to IP stuff? as someone who roleplays here currently and generally hasn't heard much at all about the rebuild this has kinda thrown me for a loop because i have no clue what's gonna happen to my favorite clans

The leaders of the groups effected will be contacted when we get closer to the relaunch. Their was not shortage of talking on the rebuild. Not much has changed, it's just been slow going with summer and busy staffers. Not something we want to rush and screw up extra hard. :P

The Traditional Game has nothing to do with what's currently called the extended game, and it also has nothing to do with all the "Other RP" boards on the site. The rebuild will only effect the extended game, as was always the intent.

As today isn't the day for (re)releasing all this information, I'm going to lock this thread. When we get nearer to completion and have more of "new" figured out we'll release more information. In the mean time, if you'd like to help out, you can go to this thread and share any notable events or locations from FeralFront's history (again)!

Just like with groups/group names, we can't include characters in the lore that are clearly based on someone else's IP. The character would be unable to influence the overarching ongoing story through sitewide events. For most people, that wouldn't matter much, as we have very few sitewide events now (which is something we're really hoping to change with the rebuild).

Tp start, "rule break" isn't really relevant. The only rule on FeralFront that people need stress over is " don't be a toxic jerk".

As for the rest, I'm not sure how to phrase it differently. If you create a character based on someone else's IP, it won't be able to impact sitewide lore created through sitewide events. "Modifying it slightly" doesn't make it better, as it's still someone else's IP.

PHP, object oriented PHP specifically, is the thing that you need. To show knowledge of that, you'd need to create something yourself that demonstrates knowledge of the assorted concepts. :)

This is due to some missing messages in the Conversation from the final transfer awhile back. The easiest way to fix it would be for me to delete that Conversation.

I double checked the settings and they appear to be fine.

If you haven't already, clearing your cookies may help. This will likely log you out of every website you're logged into. To prevent that, you can clear just the cookies for FeralFront if you have the skillzzz.

If none of the *many* boards on FeralFront are tolerable to you, find a new forum.

FeralFront is for relaxed and laid back fun. It's pretty easy to get along with the vast majority of members because the vast majority of members are laid back and fun. If you aren't, this isn't the place for you.

It's just some salty banned people confirming why they were banned.

For anyone concerned, any online petition to shutdown FeralFront will have no effect. They mean nothing. The world doesn't care if some petulant people are upset they got banned from an RP site.

Deleted some spam posts.

Apparently they think spamming their message from multiple different accounts will make it better received. Being a mod on the site they're telling you to flee to doesn't help the message ring true either.

How to get there depends on whether you're on desktop or mobile, but you can use the search for that. You just need to find and click/tap "More Options". When you do, it'll take you here. At that point, just choose yourself as the author and it'll show you posts only authored by you. If you want only threads you started, check the box for "Match only threads created by this member".
