    ic; Deercall slipped in next to Brightpaw and watched the meeting with her huge eyes. At first she was only curious, but when Frostpaw suddenly murdered the rogue she let out a strangled cry. "FROSTPAW! the freedom fighter screeched, her claws digging into the ground. "There's no way your religion could be telling you to do this! Y-you must have interpreted the message wrong!" This was all the fucking Star Forest's fault! Nothing like this could possibly have happened under StarClan's watch!


    Augustpaw stepped forward, a furious gleam in her amber eyes. "My grandfather would never have let this happen," she snarled, thinking of Colouredstar.

    Deercall whipped her head from side to side. Where were Lovelace and Vertigo? And Redfur, for that matter?! Somebody needed to take action. Anybody. She didn't want it to have to be her, but she would if worse came to worst.


    In any case, what would happen to Frostpaw? A trial? Demotion? Exile?


    She prayed to StarClan that she wouldn't be the one making that decision. It wasn't in the job description of a freedom fighter.

    "It's still murder, and we cannot allow it to happen in SunClan," Deercall breathed to Icepaw. "And depression is treatable. Wishfulthinking and the others could have helped that poor soul. Death is not the answer." She knew from experience.

    Deercall bit her tongue to hold back what she wanted to say to Fairydust. Nodding gravely to Heatherharvest, the freedom fighter bit her lip in concern and searched the crowd for their leaders. Catching Ace's eye by accident, she shot him an awkward and shaky smile. The only thing she held against him was that he hadn't taken part in raising their kits. But they were turning out just fine without him, so that anger was slowly fading away. She certainly didn't hate him, anyway.


    As Frostpaw explained himself, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of frustration. The Star Forest isn't real! StarClan are the only real afterlife! Why are we listening to a religion that threatens to kill us if we don't listen to them?!


    "For fuck's sake," Augustpaw growled, unsheathing her claws. "Colouredstar would have been here already." The clan had been slowly falling apart ever since his death.

    Deercall let out a sigh of relief as Wishfulthinking spoke up about the Star Forest. Now that someone else had said something, she could voice her own opinion. At least, that was how it tended to work in her mind. "Did anything like this ever happen under StarClan's watch?" She twitched her ears. "No. And that is because they are kind and forgiving. This 'Star Forest', if they even exist," and she didn't believe it did, "have caused us nothing but trouble. Personally, I cannot stand by them in any way, shape, or form."


    As Frostpaw explained himself further, her disdain for this 'Star Forest' only grew. "Oh, and now they killed Colouredstar, too?!" She had only shouted one or two times in her life, but...there she went. She was one step away from losing it. Where was Firfleck? She needed him right now. "This is bullshit!"


    Alaska pressed up against Wishy's side. "Dad," the thug whined, her eyes wide with confusion. "Why would the Star Forest do something like this? Are they just stupid?"

    ic; Alaska held up Annie on her other side, nuzzling her sister's cheek. She didn't care if Annie revealed her feelings for Espie. Not right now, anyway. Her most fragile sister was her only concern at the moment. "Annie, you're okay," she cooed, desperately trying to make and keep eye contact with her. "You hear me, sweetie? You're okay. I promise."

    It still has yet to happen to me. My best guess would be that the coding is getting screwed up for some reason, though it's awfully strange that it's happening so randomly and only to a few people.

    My only problem with this is that I adore Deery and I'm fine with her being exiled for a while as long as she can eventually come back, Sabre-style?


    And Fruity is right, though I was thinking about this for later down the line. If the clan continues to believe in the Star Forest, eventually Deery will lose her sh*t no matter what.
