"Nice shooting." Sarah couldn't help but smile. "Although I prefer to use my claws."
"Don't be so naive, Kitty." Jason relaxed and looked at Mike curiously. "The fire was the best part. Just saying."
Sarah elbowed him in the ribs. Jason protested and fell silent.
"Nice bow." Shadowshade appeared next to Jason, who jumped and then scowled at him.
Jake joined them.

Unable to resist the burning curiosity that rose in her chest and through her mind, Em somewhat eagerly took Amanda's hand.
-
"Who-" Jason began.
Sarah elbowed him in the ribs.
"You have got to stop doing that!" Jason complained, but was quieted by a look.
Jake raised his eyebrows at the two. "Lost who?" he asked curiously, his black hair a mangled mess that he didn't seem to notice.
Shadowshade leaned against a tree and watched and listened mutely. In response to the 'busy' comment, he said, "Yeah. These two-" he brushed two fingers in Jason and Sarah's direction, "got in a bit of...trouble." He flushed slightly, though it was hardly noticeable with his cobalt-blue skin. -
Em closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. She opened her eyes and looked at Amanda. "Better than ever. Where are we?"
OOC: No prob :) This is an awesome rp..
-
"Sounds like you could use some help." Shadowshade looked up in interest.
Jason bit his lip thoughtfully. "And you think you could help, blue-man? Wait. Who are you, anyway?"
Shadowshade looked at him. "Shadowshade. Just call me Shadow," he replied. "I met your friend - Nate, was it? - before the team decided to move in on you."
Sarah took a step back. "You were with...them?" Her eyes narrowed.
"Chill, Kitty," Shadowshade replied as if not bothered with her uncertainty. "I helped you people out, didn't I?"
For the first time, Sarah noticed the knife wound on his left forearm. Shadowshade spoke before she could mention it.
"As I was saying, 'sounds like you might need some help with this mysterious..maze." He tilted his head ever so slightly. -
"Oh. Sure fooled me." Em's eyes danced around the place slowly. "Smells like the forest, too," she muttered. "My apologies, but where is the danger?"
-
OOC: ? Cya
IC: Em tensed and made identical fists. Four blades slid out from between her knuckles; the ones between her index and thumb knuckles were half-an-inch shorter than the rest.
-
Despite Shadowshade's confusion, this had caught his interest. He straightened his back and listened mutely.
The others watched. Sarah looked confused, Jake looked even more confused, and Jason looked thoughtful. -
Jason cleared his throat softly. "Sorry to break up the meeting, but Sarah, Jake and I have better get going, soon. Those Seekers won't be gone for long."
Shadowshade sighed through his nose and leaned away from the tree. "I'm coming with you."
"No, you're not." Sarah was watching Shadowshade warily with narrowed eyes.
"Kitty, he saved my life. And Nate's," Jake whispered close to her ear.
"I still don't trust the boy, Hothead."
"Well, I do." Jason tugged at her jacket sleeve.
Sarah pulled away from him and looked again at Shadowshade. "Fine. You can come." Shadowshade began to smile, but before he could reply, Sarah poked him hard in the chest. "But if you dare try anything, my claws will be in and out of your chest so fast you won't realize your dead until you've already crossed."
Shadowshade, looking nervous for once, gritted his teeth and nodded. He looked at Time, Nate, and Mike. -
"Yeah," Jason nodded as Sarah and Shadowshade returned glances.
Jake cleared his throat softly and looked at Time. "Thanks. For, you know, coming after me. And, Time, one last thing; meet me at the Broadwood Cafe in Main Street as early as you can get there." His eyes glittered, hoping he'd catch on and remember the stranger who'd spoken to Jake. -
Em wrinkled her nose. "Warm metal smell," she protested softly. She braced herself as if waiting to see which one of them - robot or mutant - would attack first. Deciding to go on the offense, she ran at it, unsure of what would happen; curiosity takes over the wolf.
OOC: In X-Men: Last Stand, Professor Xavier does die.
-
OOC: You can just jump in whenever you want to - just as long as you follow the rules and such that I mentioned in parenthesis on my first post - and as long as you are a mutant and such; this is much like X-Men, except that we're the ones being hunted.

"Like ice." Shadowshade's soft, formal, accented voice got Sarah and Jake's attention. He looked a little uncomfortable with the sudden extra eyes on him, but continued, looking at Nate, "I meant the man that you threw the knife at." He glanced down at the body of the man, left behind. "Frosted over and blackened. Like ice."
"Thanks for clearing that up, genius," Sarah muttered, playing with the hem of her shirt and looking a bit tense.
Jason looked at her and then quickly ran eyes over Mike curiously. Fire was Jason's element, but this was much more interesting.
Jake appeared a bit...distracted. He played with the numb index finger of his broken hand. -
"It's alright." Jake looked up at him. "I'd rather not have another excuse to visit the town." He smiled. "See you around?"
Shadowshade sighed and looked down at the body. -
Jake smiled and watched as they disappeared back into the forest.
"I still don't trust him. Either of them," Sarah said dryly after a moment.
Shadowshade gave her an odd look but didn't reply.
Jason chuckled at her remark. "You don't trust anyone, Kitty. Come on. We should get out of here and find another safehaven before the Seekers return." He turned and led the way farther and deeper into the forest.
After several minutes, Sarah said to Jason, "That Professor Grey. You know him, yes?"
"Knew him, you mean." Jason tensed. "But yeah. I knew him," he added stiffly.
She gave him an odd look and a frown. "You're not telling me something, J," she warned. "I can sniff out the lies."
"I'm not lying."'
"Liar."
"Am not!"
"Am."
"Not."
"You're not going to stop arguing, are you?" She sounded exasperated.
"Nope." Jason didn't look at her.
After a moment, Sarah said. "Liar." -
[Yeah, it's fine - although I'd rather Em stay one of the only children of Wolverine
I'd ask how in the world Nightcrawler and Mystique got together but I won't press]Em instinctively crossed the blades across her face, in front of her. She crouched down under the fiery bullets. She opened her eyes, her head slighted, and noticed for the first time a stranger(Callum). Already her sneakers were beginning to etch back under the attack. A bullet dodged the claws and latched into the very edge of her shoulder. Em bit the inside of her lip so hard she tasted blood, before it began to heal over.

After another length of silence, Jake asked, "Where do you think we'll stay for the night?"
Jason looked at him. "I'm not sure. I suppose, if we find a cave big enough for the three of us.."
"I'm scouting ahead. You two can...talk." Sarah suddenly ran ahead and disappeared into the brush.
Jason and Jake looked at each other. Jason cleared his throat uneasily. Jake coughed. Finally, Jake managed, "I'm sorry for running off on you."
Jason looked surprised, but nodded. "I told you too quickly," he acknowledged softly. "You were just so bent on knowledge-"
"I had a vision again."
"What?"
Jake told Jason about his second vision and his chat with the mysterious man.
A minute afterwords, Jason rubbed his scruffy chin and frowned at the green. "I don't know, Jake. That guy might be dangerous-"
"He isn't," Jake insisted. "He called me the 'Timewalker'.
Jason bit his lip, looking like he'd just stepped onto a minefield. He fell silent. -
Em froze and gave a slight nod. She ran and reached out for his hand/wrist as she did. As she brushed past him to do so, she muttered just loud enough to be heard, "Trust me and hold onto me and I promise you you'll get out of the line of fire with all four arms and legs. And your head."
-
Sarah ran back to the group just as the sun was beginning to disappear altogether.
"Sarah - is everything alright? Are you-" Jason began worriedly.
Sarah didn't seem to notice that he had even spoken. "I found the perfect cave, just half-a-mile or so," she began excitedly.
"Take us to it," Jason demanded with a smile. When the four arrived at a cave likely a home for a bear - at least, it looked like it - Sarah paused. "Wait. There's something off-"
"My, my. Three little piggies, lost in the woods." Two dark green eyes that matched the forest seemed to slow slightly in the coming darkness. Two other things were visible in the low light; four blades, just like Sarah's, except straighter, longer, and more steel-looking than white-gold.
Sarah's claws immediately crawled out of her skin. "Who're you?" she demanded, narrow-eyed.
No answer but a shadowed smile.
Shadowshade had tensed as well as Jake and Jason, but stayed quiet.
Jake shifted uneasily.
Jason had summoned fire to his hands.
"What are you doing here, stranger?" Sarah demanded again.
"Better ask that to yourselves. I live here, of course."
"I didn't see you here before. Who are you?"
"How rude. Take a guess." The stranger jumped down and stepped into the last light.
A girl with black hair and green eyes, well-built around the chest and waist but with thinner arms than Sarah and leaner legs underneath a shred of jeans and black tank-top.[New character!] Em[ma] Howlett (Except for the katana):

[lol]
Em stopped when she saw his shake of the head. Her eyes strayed and stared where the stranger girl and boy had disappeared. She turned at another sound of bullets on pavement. With a hard, cold narrow of the eyes, she ran straight at the helicopter as if about to jump at it-
And, at the last possible second, ducked down into a roll and disappeared off of the roof.
