    Deersong
deersong awoke to her fellow clanmates beginning to stir, the combined noise snatching the tortoiseshell from her dreams. glancing around, she saw a few warriors left, some still sleeping. she groomed herself quickly, her fur a slight mess after sleeping all night. after lapping her fur into order, she quietly padded to the entrance of the den, pausing underneath the entrance to look out at her lively clanmates. her tail twitched a bit, she hoped she could be placed on a patrol-- she could do with stretching out her limbs. a plump bird sounded amazing, or maybe a rabbit! her thoughts wandered from one prey to another, her paws kneading the ground in anticipation.

WIP :D I'm working on two more cats

    First name, last name:

    Maribelle Trenton

    Nickname(s):

Mari or Mare, but usually the Former

    Age:

    23

    Gender:

    Female

    Sexuality:

    Bisexual

    Relationship Status:

    Single

    Personality:

Mari is what others would call a lovable cactus. She often comes off as painfully blunt, she’s never been a person to see the value in lessening the reality of the truth. To those who call her friend, this ideaology is a virtue— to stranger this can often be rude or cantankerous looking. Make no mistake, Mari is not one to provoke aggression in others— quite the opposite in fact. Right next to this girls blatant bluntness is her sympathetic and empathetic nature. In part with her...abilities, Mari can often be found consoling others in times of emotional distress. Never underestimate her baffling persistence in times like these, she’ll never leave someone alone to suffer alone— she’ll be the shoulder to cry on and the ear to listen. Though, while not pushy, she can be rather meddlesome. Her powers combination of empathy clairvoyance has made her quite the anxious mess, and once she’s picked up on someone’s emotional turmoil or is plagued by a particularly puzzling vision it’s not uncommon for her to avidly seek a way to help and possibly prevent a situation from escalating or ever coming to fruition. Especially due to her clairvoyance, she’s naturally an anxious person and by exstension a bit paranoid. It’s not uncommon for here to hole up every once in awhile, becoming overwhelmed by others emotions and the visions— they take a lot out of her mentally and she’s quick to exhaustion. Though always quick with a remark at times, she becomes snappy and lethargic when she begins to feel exhausted, and it’s here where her most negative attributes bleed through— she often refuses help offered by others. She often busies herself with others emotions and problems that she’ll put her own needs and problems on the back burner for so long that when she finally remembers that she should be taking care of herself, she becomes overwhelmed and will subsequently go through what she’s started calling her ‘droughts’— in this periods she becomes pathetically resigned and meek. Family and friends have scolded her on several occasions over this bad habit but unfortunately, it’s something she’s still working on curbing. I’m sure staying in bed all day because everything’s too much and calling it a self-care day is a start, right?

    Good Traits:

Honest, Amiable, Sympathetic, Empathetic, Tender, Witty, and Calming

    Bad traits:

Wayward, Anxious, Snappy, Blunt, Stubborn, Prideful and Distrustful

    Strengths:

she’s a excellent advice giver and listener, despite being awful with taking her own advice. She’s a good cook. Black Jack and Poker— her being both an empath and clairvoyant means she’s won the game without trying...most of the time. She also has an amazing memory.

    Weaknesses:

what is self care ?¿ certified anxious mess. way to stubborn in regards to wanting to make others feel better. has insomnia that sometimes leads to her being unable to sleep at night and taking naps through out the day to compensate.

    Favorite Color:

    Pastel Green or Nude Pink

    Evil or good:

    Good

    What are your abilities/powers:

She’s an empath and clairvoyant— she can sense other people’s emotions without trying and can often predict things within a certain timeframe before they happen. However, while she can always sense others emotions, her clairvoyance doesn’t always come to her when she wants it. To put it logically, out of every ten visions she may see, maybe 4 came to her when she tried to see into the future and the other 6 came at random.

    Likes:

Her cat Pascal, naps, cooking, painting, succulents (theyre everywhere in her home), late night or early morning walks, ddr, cafes and thrifting

    Dislikes:

ignorance, fast talkers, generally loud or imposing people, violence, asmr and teeny tiny backpacks due to sheer uselessness— you can’t put anything in them so what’s the point???

    Crush:

    to develop

    BF/GF:

    nope

    Other:

my favorite color is pastel green

    Plotting ideas:

she’s open for plotting, especially some angst >:)

    Maribelle

It had been another relentless night of tossing and turning, and while she had given up on the idea of sleep, she had remained in bed all night. She felt borderline wrecked but going more the 24 hours without sleep does that to people. Idly, she ran her fingers over Pascal’s black fur, her cats quiet purring filling the silence of her bedroom. After finally leaving the soft confines of her bed, she mulled about her apartment— she had something of an aesthetic clutter going on. Various succulents littered her little abode, accompanied by various little knick-knacks that she had accumulated over the years and countless scrunchies and hair ties. Those last ones were important, she often broke or misplaced her hair ties so opted to just leaving them everywhere— can’t loose them if they’re quite literally everywhere.

She ran through her morning routine like clockwork: first she snuggled Pascal— who’d followed after from her bedroom, refilled his water and food bowl, stared into the fridge for just a tad too long before closing it and deciding on munching on a banana, then finally heading into her bathroom to shower. She had no definitive plans for the day, besides grocery shopping at some point. After getting herself together, she threw on a simple black long-sleeve, dark gray leggings, a warm striped cardigan and a pair of white nikes. She gave herself a quick once over before putting her hair up— leaving a few strands of curls out. Finally finished with actually getting ready for the day, she grabbed her her phone and wallet, giving Pascal a lil kiss before exiting her apartment and eventually meeting the cool morning air. People were up and about so she quickly settled on a random direction and settled into relaxed pace, quickly becoming engrossed in her own idle thoughts. She’d learn to deafen the feelings over others from a fellow empath, but even then she hadn’t quite mastered it yet— so she could still feel pricks and pieces of it, but she hadn’t walked near anyone particularly emotionally charged so that was a win for her! Though she had felt someone who had been on edge and as a result she kept unconsciously looking around her— but nothing to dampen her mood.

ooc: oof, I haven’t rped in a fat minute hopefully this was okay

my girlie Mari is open for plotting ! Especially anything angsty— luv me some good ol angst hehe

I think some drama with the authorities would be cool !

    Edit:

Just an idea, but I think maybe having the characters know maybe one or two of the other characters might help with building the background a little? Like maybe characters were once friends and had a falling out, or two characters hate each other ? Maybe two characters work together or something? Just a lil idea

She wandered about for a bit, idly peering into stores as she wandered past. A sudden gust of wind chilled her to the bone, and suddenly she wished she’d opted for warm sweater or scarf. But that thought came as soon as it went— in all the wandering she’d made it to the outskirts of town, the forest dense and inviting up ahead. She had a fondness for this heaven-sent grotto of green; she’d found Pascal here two years, a tiny and defenseless little black cat mewling for attention. She’d gone through a rather turbulent year, one problem after the other seemed to arise and finding the will to get out of her home had been almost too much for her. After an aimless wander through the forest, she’d come across a fuzzy black ball of fur with dazzaling heterochromatic eyes— a piercing pale honey accompanied by the iciest of blues. It tugged her heartstrings, not a mother in sight and a black cat— quite an unlucky hand dealt to the little guy. It hadn’t taken much for her to gain Pascals trust, and she’d spoiled the little guy rotten since. Mari felt as though Pascal retained the things she would say, as if he understood her. A faint smile found its way onto her face, the best companion she could ever ask for was given to her by the forest— most fond memories she’d had in the most recent years revolved around nature if she thought about it.

It had been sometime since the last time she’d given it a wander, and perhaps she’d find herself in a scenic little hill with an outlook over the town or round towards the lake not far from this side of town. Whichever the case, she looked forward to the opportunity of killing some time peacefully.

mari had began to make steps towards the woods till her vision began flood and glimmer-- all too quickly choked up with tears. to the few people around, they cast her a pitiful an odd glances, but as quickly as she gained them a grieving women could be spotted through nearby restaurant-- loudly crying with people watching and attempting to console the woman. she took this moment to speed off away from the forest and in the opposite direction of the hysteric women. these feelings were not her own, but it'd be a lie to say that they might as well have been. the emotional pain that plagued her system was unbearable, she had a hard time separating her feelings from those of others when their emotions were so significantly charged. as odd is appeared, she began to quietly murmur " they aren't mine " to herself-- a fellow empath had told her that affirming that the emotions she felt weren't hers would help in dismissing them faster. by the time she'd gotten far enough away, she managed to cease the tears-- but that woman's anguish still buzzed in her system like a swarm of gnats. she looked wildly around, noting that she was in an unfamiliar part of town, noting the people around-- some people shopping about, people here and there seated on benches. glancing at herself in the reflection of a glass window-- she quickly ducked into an alley to compose herself. gosh, she'd jinxed herself.

At the sudden question of wether she was alright, her head shot up and she tensed— allowing herself a deep breathe before turning around, a somewhat forced half smile adorning her face in an effort to not look suspicious. Well, to not look as suspicious anyway. “ oh! Uh, yeah I’m alright just trying to...uh...enjoy the alleyway? hahaha....” she managed to force out a nervous laugh. the tears she’d shed aside— the lack of sleep no doubt made her seem a little suspicious. Coupled with the puffiness of her eyes she could only imagine what she may have looked like, standing alone in an alley. Her growing anxiety was like a cherry on top to this situation. How easy and relieving it’d feel to tell someone, but she couldn’t really just blurt out ‘hey I feel emotions that aren’t mine and sometimes I cry because of it !’ to every stranger on the street, she’d easily be hailed off to be thrown in a padded cell with a straight jacket. Perhaps then she’d catch a break from every other persons emotions...? An awful joke to think about another time perhaps.

She couldn’t help the half chuckle that escaped her lips, having her excuse repeated back to her sounded ridiculous. But she took what had followed after into consideration, the compliment forcing a more genuine smile onto her face. She let his words buzz around in her head a a moment— carefully weighing the pros and cons of what she could answer back with. It was only the two of them and if he’d bothered to ask about her wellbeing he couldn’t be that bad...right? And on the off chance he was bad, she’d only expose herself partially— being an empath was one thing, she could just be told she was emotional. But being clairvoyant was an entirely different ball game— one she wouldn’t be partaking in today. “ You know how when you see someone sad, you tend to feel bad for them or relate to how they’re feeling ? “ she swallowed thickly, gauging how to explain herself delicately “ well, I...uh, tend to feel it like they’re my own. If someone’s in anguish, I’ll feel it exactly as they do. So truthfully I’m okay! Someone else isn’t though...But, um, I feel other emotions too! Like happiness and anger...“ she mumbled off, realizing she was rambling. She winced thinking of the lady from before, grimly certain that this type of anguish was for that of a lost family memeber. In an effort to comfort herself, she crossed her arms to hold herself. Pain like this clung to her like glitter— she could shake most of it off, but small specks of it would linger for awhile.

Releasing a breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding, her posture relaxing. It felt nice? To just get it off her chest, even if it was just partially, and tell someone about how she’d feel others emotions. “ It’s not bad all the time, and I feel like it’s helped me really understand the whole ‘ walk a mile in someone else’s shoes ‘ thing,” she almost felt giddy explaining herself— almost it’s tough sometimes, I won’t lie, but sometimes helping someone out when they’re having a rough day or feeling the excitement someone else has makes it worth it— feeling someone’s emotions shift from negative to positive is really uplifting “ her eyes shined full of mirth; the rough that came with her powers was worth it when she felt hope bubble through someone’s despair, when calmness overtook anger and happiness trumped sadness. Mari cocked her head to the side at the mention of his own powers, beginning to feel a faint unsureness from the man. she offered him a smile, gesturing to the lack of people around them “ hey, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to— there’s kinda like a bunch of people around, yknow ? “ she let a small laugh bubble up, hoping to lighten the mood “ we can start with your name if that’s fine ? My names Mari. “ She was definitely curious as to what powers he could’ve had, and her mind began to spin with ideas of what his powers might be.

    Mari

nice to meet you Brandon “ of all the names he could’ve been named, Brandon seemed to fit him perfectly. “ I’m not expected anywhere so drinks are fine with me— alcohol or otherwise “ truthfully, daytime drinking was never her thing, by all definitions she handled her alcohol as good as anyone else but once she was drunk it was always a mess. Mari couldn’t lie though, alcohol always eased the nerves, and she knew it was only a matter of time until her anxieties caught up to her. It was silly, she knew, to hinge the idea of drinking on something as trivial as anxiety but....she wanted to prevent a disaster if she could— well if social embarrassment could be classified as a disaster. She mused that it could be. If not that, plenty of cafes littered the town— and the atmosphere they offered were calming all their own anyway.
