Lucas really likes dogs. Particularly the little terriers, because they give him a reason to run around on all fours and wrestle with them, accidentally hissing or meowing in response to the dogs' actions.
Normally he'd find abandoned dogs and bring them in for a few days to make sure they're healthy, sometimes longer if necessary before giving them to an animal shelter he volunteered at once while on the run.
