"Yes Willowflare." she murmured and crept silently off towards the rocks, her yellow eyes darting from rock to rock, her ears pricked. She could hear quiet rustling as she grew near, the scent of mouse filling her nostrils. Spottedpaw kept as low as she could, her paws gracefully silent as they carried her closer to the scent. She peered over the rocks her head just barely visible. She could see a small white mouse blended into the snow, nibbling on a nut half it's size. Spottedpaw froze, not moving a muscle as she examined it closely. She ducked behind the rocks once more, still keeping the mouse in sight. Her muscles bunched as she prepared to leap, rocking her hips from side to side slightly. Spottedpaw sprang, her claws unsheathed and outstretched. She landed on top of the mouse before it had time to scurry back into its hiding hole. She trapped it in her paws and ended its life with a swift bite to the neck.

Spottedpaw nodded "Alright!" she dug into the earth, the prey clenched in her jaws. When the hole with deep enough, Spottedpaw dropped the mouse into the ground. Then she looked up at Willowflare, waiting for her to lead.

Spottedpaw shook her head and mewed excitedly "Yes Willowflare!" she dropped into a crouch, her belly as to the ground as it could be before it touched the earth. Spottedpaw stalked quietly through the grass, trying to keep hidden as best as she could. She stopped for a moment and sniffed the air, her mouth open, drinking in the scents around her. Rabbit. She tracked it around a few rocks and to a bush. Quietly, Spottedpaw continued to pursue the prey. The trail split in two different directions. Clearly, two had stuck together.

Spottedpaw's fur bristled with excitement "Yes Willowflare!". The calico apprentice dropped into a crouch and swiftly but silently went in search of the rabbits, following the strong scent of fear. It was only after a little while though that she heard rustling in the grass. As silent at the breeze, Spottedpaw's gaze pierced through the golden grass. Her heart began to beat quickly as she caught the slightest glimpse of brown and white pelts.

Spottedpaw sprung, the tension in her muscles released. She landed on top of both of them, but before she could kill them, the brown rabbit bolted in fear. Spottedpaw remained calm, she bit the white rabbits neck then bounded after the brown pelted creature. Her muscles were heating up, the first snowflakes brushing her cheeks. She came right behind the rabbit and leaped, taking the first chance she got. She stumbled at first, but she landed on the rabbit and ended its life quickly. With her pride concealed inside, Spottedpaw made her way back to her mentor, the two limp bodies hanging from her jaw.
