IC: "I could tell you the whole story if you like," she said still fuming. Without waiting for a reply, she started anyway. "A little while ago, the blue light appeared. No one knew what it was at first, but it only seemed to be in this neighborhood. The first person to try to see it was our neighbor Archie. He's a scientist so he does that kind of thing. Well anyway, he went out one night, but the next morning, he hadn't come home. We looked or course, but we didn't find anything. A few days later there was a pile of scorched bones at our his doorstep. The police tested the DNA, and it was Archie. The next person to go was my friend, Nicola. She was fascinated by the light and desperate to know what it was. I begged her not to go, but she ignored me and went anyway. She disappeared too, and a few days later her bones showed up on her doorstep. My sister, Poppy," she choked up a bit here, but continued, "She went looking for Nicola one night, because she loved me and couldn't stand to see me sad. Her bones showed up the day after Nicola's." She had to stop. Her throat had closed up and her eyes filled with tears. "Doctor, she was only 16!" she managed.
