After about an hour of riding, Ghost Blade broguht the horse to heel. He dismounted and pulled Yan off the horse with him. "Alright, princess," he said indifferently, "Le'ts see about that wound. Unless you're fine with bleeding to death."

Brocker sighed, knowing he wouldn't win if they got into a prolonged argument, and they might end up fighting. "Alright. A few more places," he said, kissing her cheek. "But you owe me one."
-
George smiled at his wife as he set down the last of the cardboard boxes. "Step one of moving in, done," he said proudly. Mary wrapped her arms around him.
"My big, strong man," she teased. The two kissed gently, then parted. "I'm going to check downstairs," Mary told George, who nodded and began unpacking their things. The twenty seven year old woman walked over to the basement door. Opening it, she walked down the steps, only to freeze before getting to the bottom. Her eyes were fixed on the little girl tucked into an air mattress in the center of the room. "What the..." she began, stupefied.
-
"...are you alright, sweetie?" Mary asked, taking the last few steps down. "How...why are you down here? Are you hurt?" She stepped forward, thinking this was just a little girl who somehow was locked in the basement of their new house. She made a mental note to call the police as soon as possible.
-
"You live here? But that isn't possible. My husband and I just bought this house. I'm sure they would have mentioned you..." at the question about the girl's father, Mary had to shake her head. "I haven't seen him, I think. Sweetie, how about you come upstairs with me and we'll call the police to come and bring you to a safe place, alright?"

Name: Benton Neely
Age: 18
Looks:
Powers: Can manipulate and communicate with electronic devices within a certain radius of himself, ranging from simply activating a switch to causing a computer system to go haywire. -
Alright :)
Benton stared out at the passing landscape, ignoring the woman completely. Briefly, he wondered if he should attempt to deactivate the car engine, but decided against it. He couldn't run very far before being hunted down, and he didn't want to be branded as a troublemaker right away. "Are we nearly there?" he asked suddenly, cutting the woman off mid-speech. "I'm getting bored."
-
Benton slid out of the car and looked around at the facility and the surrounding mountains. "Hm. Not as impressive as I thought," he commented casually. He noticed the girl and walked up to her. She would be able to detect that he was sullen and angry at having to be here. "Hey," he said, smiling a little at the girl. "Name's Benton. You another 'student' for this place or whatever?"
-
Benton sighed and shook his head. "Whatever. As long as they feed me, I don't care." He tried to suppress his anger, however justified it was after his parents had forced him to come here. "So...what's your name?"
-
Benton looked at her with a startled expression. Had his expression showed how angry he was? He thought he had hidden it well enough. "Well, who wouldn't be mad? Shipped off to who knows where for an unknown amount of time because your parents are terrified of you. Of course I'm angry."
-
Benton gave her a sidelong glance. "So you have powers too?" he asked, interested now. "I can control electrical devices. Like, with my mind. My parents got freaked out when I started typing out my essays without even touching the keyboard. Thought I was possessed by a demon or something."
-
Benton glanced back at the car as it drove off. Where, he didn't know. But now he was stuck here. "So, are you my tour guide or something, then?" he asked, turning to face Ever again. If he was going to be stuck here for a long time, he might as well try to be friends with this girl.
-
"Oh, yeah, brought tons of stuff," Benton muttered. "That's why I showed up with nothing but the clothes on my back." But it was impossible to stay totally angry when around such a cheerful girl, so he smiled back. "So how many other people with powers live here?" he asked.
-
"Not a bad place," Benton said, looking around appreciatively. "I guess I could get used to living here." He looked at one of the paintings for a while, until something occurred to him. "Is that woman...Emmi, does she have powers too?"
-
Benton was rather impressed by what he had seen so far, but the quality of their living area only made him suspicious. "So what do they expect me to do to earn all of this?" he asked. "You can't expect me to believe they brought me here out of the kindness of their heart." Not that he even knew who 'they' were.
-
"You mean they're not going to...I don't know, dissect me or something?" Benton joked, glancing at the doors every now and then as they passed to check the label on it. Finally, he stopped in front of a door and said, "Guess this one's mine."
-
Benton stepped into his room and looked around. It wasn't bad, he had to admit. Certainly more luxurious than his room at home. "Well, nothing for it, I guess," he said to himself. It took about four seconds to get settled in, i.e. toss his bag onto the bed. Then he spent a few minutes figuring out where everything was in his room, and after that he headed out and followed Ever's directions to reach the lunch hall.
-
Hesitantly, Benton walked up to them. "Hey," he said, nodding to Ever. "Sorry if I'm interrupting, but I was wondering if I could help out somehow?" He tried not to stare in astonishment at the man who was either teleporting or moving at super fast speed, as far as he could tell.
-
Benton stepped into the kitchen, wondering if he was about to be turned into roadkill by the lightning fast man. When he didn't end up run over, he shrugged and walked over to the pot of soup, then began stirring it. "Does everyone eat together?" he asked as he stirred.
-
"Martin, huh? Nice to meet you," he said somewhat awkwardly to the man zipping around. He continued stirring the soup. "Your...power, ability, whatever, is pretty cool. Being super fast and everything. I wish mine was that useful."
