Echoheart led Storm through the barrier, wondering what the clan would think. Cats stared at Echoheart and the newcomer, and she felt her fur growing hot. Quit staring! She thought to herself. Some were glaring, others simply shown curiosity. She stopped right in the center of camp, telling Storm to relax and show little fear. "Does anyone know where the leader is?" Echoheart asked, her tail tip twitching from side to side with impatience.

Kimi finally reached the part of the stream where it joined up to the Holt, a larger part of the river way that Kimi had never swam to before. It's certainly much larger than the stream I live in. She thought to herself. She suddenly heard talking not far off from where she was, and swam over toward the sound of talking otters. Kimi swam quietly over to a shallow area where the reeds were just tall enough to hide in, and parted them to see where the talking was coming from. She wanted to strain closer to hear what they were saying but decided she would just watch them for now. Fromwhere she was, she could see at least four otters.

Tallula felt her fur prickling along her spine, her eyes darting left and right, wondering where the voice was coming from. Tallula spotted Kalia and Kineks padding behind Sasha, whose face seemed to alert. "Who is he, and what does he want with you!?" Tallula asked Sasha, her voice somwhat shaky. She suddenly saw a ghostly figure hovering between herself and Sasha. Tallula saw that the strange spirit, or whatever it was, had clawed Sasha, and anger rose up in herself. You leave Sasha alone! Tallula snarled in her head. No one tells me what to do. The raspy voice growled back at her.

Kamaria peered in the hiding place where Fury was, and saw someof his injuries opening up again. "Just stay there. There is only one hunter left." She told Fury. Kamaria limped away again, now looking for any man's scent. Kamaria winced as more blood began to stain her chest fur a scarlet red. Stupid hunters. She continued on until she finally let herself slump to the ground, trying to catch her breath, looking down at the gouge again.

Kamaria staggered away from Nala and Fury, hoping that the last hunter was gone. As she continued on through the trees, she took caution with every pawstep, not wanting to alert the hunter in case he was nearby. Kamaria felt air as a shot whistled passed her shoulder, and immediate panic swept over her. Kamaria darted to the side, somewhat falling as she did so. Another shot was heard, but this one sounded much farther off.

Kamaria looked up, and realized that she no longer saw the hunter. Where did he go? She wondered. She slowly got up again, darkness clouding her vision, making everything blurry. Kamaria felt nervous about the two shots she had heard farther off, and worry began to nag at her. What if they shot on of my friends? What if one of them is laying there dead? Kamaria felt her fear quickly growing into anger. More pain surged through her, but this time the pain was in her hind leg, and it burned like fire. She snarled as blood began to run down her leg. Kamaria turned around and saw the hunter, who was quickly trying to prepare another shot. He stinks at aiming. She thought smugly to herself. But when she tried to move towards him, she fell over, and agonizing pain shot through her leg and chest.

Kamaria snarled at the man, who was still trying to prepare his silver stick, and forced herself to her paws again. She wasted no time in lunging at him, and went for his leg, not wanting to get stabbed again. The man shrieked in pain, using his stick to try and hit her off of him. Kamaria let go and grabbed the silver stick, knocking it away and sending a shot hurling into a tree.

Kamaria knew there was no way she could take on another hunter. She suddenly saw Silver behind the hunter, her tail flicking, which Kamaria guessed was a signal. Kamaria suddenly noticed that there was a hole in Silver's ear, and fear swept over. What if she's really hurt? She flicked her ear in response, then let out a roar, keeping her eyes on the hunter.
