the arching fern fronds swayed in the breeze as Dragonclaw meowed, "why were you just sitting by the warriors den?

"isn't it great!" Dragonclaw mews. birds chirp as Dragonclaw follows scent trails of mice.

"Moonshard was really amazing the other day when we fended off a Riverclan patrol." Dragonclaw's eyes glimmered. crounch, she shot forward and grabbed a mouse. "do you think he will like this? anyway, why are you so grumpy?"

Dragonclaw was alone, sitting amidst the bracken. she he was scared. scared for her. for her clan. dark days are coming.

Moonshard peers down i to the strange new hole. scent of fresh water hangs in the air. he twitches his whiskers. should he go in?

The horror. Dragonclaw's blank eyes stared into the water, imagining again the other clan's faces. crying for help. they couldn't swim. she barely noticed the cat sitting next to her on the log.

crazy growling and snarling could be hread through the trees! suddenly, A fox leaped out, with Dragonclaw on its back. she looked fierce with her huge claws gripping the fox's back and biting its neck. they blundered through the trees.

she remembered the dream the night before. the forest died up, slowly, blackened, and crumbled to dust. then, there was a voice. the forest will die. and so will you. a huge heavily scarred tom leaped out of the dust and sprang at Dragonclaw, pale amber eyes burning.

eagleclaw sprang out of the nusery with a tawny kit in her jaws. "run and save the kits!"
