The she-cat raced through the forest, dodging tree roots and flinching each time a bird let out an alarmed call. The tiny kit dangled from her jaws, no older than one moon. The sound of a bark broke the eerie silence. The she-cat whipped around and came face-to-face with a small black and white terrier. Knowing there was no way of escape, she dropped the kit and let out a furious yowl as the dog raked it's deadly claws down her flank. The she-cat was cornered, nowhere to run but the forest, so she darted past the trees and desperatley made her escape. The dog followed, it's massive jaws no less than a mousetail away. Terrified yowling and bloodthirsty barks and whines filled the air, until finally, the noise stopped.
The young kit mewled and struggled hopelessly on the ground. The sun was sinking below the horizon, and the cresent moon climbed the sky and shone down brightly on the kit. Pawsteps came in the distance, and the bodies of two massive cats, one ginger tom, and one brown she-cat, came into view. The kit was lying still now, and the stars above her shone down so bright, that they made her pelt glow in the moonlight. The two cats approached her warily at first, then the biggest one picked her up in his jaws.
"We're not keeping her ar we?" the she-cat asked.
The tom dropped the kit and confronted his friend.
"We can't just leave her here!" he snapped. "She'll die!"
The she-cat paused before replying, "But are you sure we can manage her?" she asked, "We don't even know where she came from!"
"It will be difficult Echo." he started, "But I have a good feeling about this kit."
"Very well Comet." Echo replied.
Comet lowered the kit onto the ground, making sure he could still feel her heart beating.
"I name you Starla." he declared, touching his nose to her muzzle, "Kit of the Stars""That's it, keep you tail still now..."
Starla crept forward towards the mouse. Waggling her haunches, she sprang, but the mouse was too quick for her. She came back empty-pawed.
"It's ok, we'll try again tomorrow. It was only your first day, right?" said Echo cheerfully.
Starla nodded weakly, still upset.
"I guess so..." she murmured.
Starla followed Echo through the woods until they reached a small clearing, which Comet had declared their territory.
Ever since Comet had taken Starla back to safety, she had always loved to sit under the stars and let the evening breeze ruffle her fur. But today the sky was stormy and dark, Starla hadn't seen anything like it.
"Go lie down in your nest." instructed Echo. "I have to go see Comet."
Starla nodded and padded over to her makeshift nest. It wasn't much really, just a couple of feathers and some moss. She sighed, sitting here all day was so boring. She wanted to go out into the woods... Have an adventure!
"Starla!! Hurry!"
The alarmed call snapped Starla out of her thoughts. What was going on?
"Over here!!" screeched Comet.
Starla padded over to the two cats, puzzled. Suddenly, a flash of light lit up the sky and a loud roar broke the eerie silence. Fat drops of water began to fall from the sky.
"What's going on?" she called out. But nobody heard. A giant oak had been struck by the crackling light, and fell between Starla, Comet and Echo.
"Help me!" she screeched as another bolt of light cut across the sky and struck a large tree. Bright orange flames burst out from all sides, it's branching carrying them from tree to tree. Starla was trapped.Starla flinched, waiting for the flames to burn deep into her fur, killing her instantly, instead, she felt teeth meet the back of her scruff. Comet!
Comet bounded easily over the wall of flames with Starla dangling from his jaws. Echo was anxiously padding in circles on the other side. She practically jumped out of her fur when she saw the pair.
"Oh thank goodness you're safe!" she purred.
Comet dropped Starla on the ground with a thud.
"Not for long." he growled gesturing with his tail to the thick wall of flames. "We have to flee."
"But Comet!" Echo cried. "This is our home! We've lived here since we were kits! We can't leave!"
"Do you wan't us to die?" he screeched, barely heard over the roar and crackling of the fire.
After a long pause, Echo swiftly shook her head and raced through the forest, Comet and Starla at her heels.
"Run across the river!" Comet yowled. "We'll be safe on the other side!"
Echo nodded and bounded across the river, flinching as water splashed over her paws. Comet grasped Starla's scruff and padded after her. There were no trees on the other side, so there was nowhere for the fire to spread. They were safe. Comet and Echo lied down as close to the edge of the river as possible, obviously grieving for their kit-hood home. Starla buried her muzzle in Echo's fur, only to pause when she spotted the shadowy figures of two cats across the river.
They waved their tails, trying to get their attention, and they yowled in desperation as the flames grew closer to their pelts.
"We have to help them!" Starla pleaded to Comet.
Comet dipped his head to Echo and yowled from across the river.
"Stay there! We're coming to help you!" -

The she-cat lay unmoving on the smooth boulder. Her arms and legs were bleeding, and her ears were shredded. The previous day she had given birth to her kit, but a dog had separated the two. Desperate to save her kit, she sacrificed herself. Now she lay unmoving, bleeding badly on the rocks.
"Help me.." she moaned. -
A massive tabby tom walked into the clearing. He growled and raked his claws deep into the soil.
"What are you doing on my territory?" he snarled. -
-
A large she-cat with silver tabby fur padded into the clearing.
"Out of my way!" she growled. "I'm Snowpoppy."
She paused, hanging her head before continued.
"I was exiled."
Snowpoppy turned tail and began to leave the clearing.
"I was wrong to try and help you." she muttered.Post edited by staff. You do not play the ToBE Healer/Medicine Cat.
-
The tom snarled and turned to face Spade.
"Well it's my territory now." he spat. "You'll have to fight to get it back." -
Snowpoppy yowled in pain and frustration.
"what was that for?" -
The queen didn't answer, in fact, she couldn't. She could barely move.
-
The tom's eyes grew dim, and he hung his head low. Cats hardly passed through here, and though he didn't like to admit it, he felt lonely. So he secretly followed Bobbie through the forest, not making a sound.
-
"Do you need me here or not?" she spat.
-
The tom, intent on following Bobbie, had no idea Spade was still watching him. He bent down to pause and lap up some water from the brook.

The tom paused, not sure if he wanted to be hostile, or friendly. He shuffled his paws nervously, and decided if was going to survive, he couldn't do it alone.
"I...I'm Cooper." he blurted out. "Would you like to travel with me?" -
