    The Clan's History

Many, many moons ago, there lived a cat named Shinefeather. She was part of a litter of four, with two sisters Shimmerspirit and Silverblaze, and a brother, Flamewhisker. Shinefeather was a beautiful silver tabby she-cat, with shining blue eyes. The four siblings, along with their mother Morningfoot, were once part of an old clan called Leafclan. They lived happily in peace until they turned five moons. Around that time, a large pack of rogues attacked the clan. The deputy and medicine cat at the time were both struck down, and the rogues ended up kidnapping their leader. The clan in ruins, and their mother having been killed, the four siblings ran away from the rogues. They ran and ran, until eventually they encountered another group, much less hostile than the rogues. The group decided to take them in and gave them protection, teaching them how to hunt and fight. They were always on the move, never staying in one place too long. The terrains they've traveled have differed greatly, traveling from flat moorlands to large, thick forests to mountainous ranges. This type of living wasn't bad... But Shinefeather quickly grew tired of it. Silverblaze and Flamewhisker were content with this new lifestyle and decided to stay, while Shimmerspirit and Shinefeather decided to break away and live on their own. The two sisters traveled far, only stopping to hunt and eat, or to rest. For a time they were content, relying only on each other for support. But one day, while Shinefeather was rested after a hard day's travel, Shimmerspirit decided to wander off to hunt. She had still not returned by the time Shinefeather had woken up. The silver she-cat searched for her sister for many days, however she never saw Shimmerspirit again. Disheartened, Shinefeather stopped and collapsed into the dense foliage of the forest, grieving for her lost sister. One day, a storm quickly swept over the land. Shinefeather ran to get out of the rain, and discovered a large, towering mountain range bordering a vast, thick, green forest. She found a cave at the base of the mountain, and upon further inspection led into a massive cavern, with a large glimmering pool in the middle. The molly, weary from her journey, rested beside the pool and drifted off to sleep. During her slumber, she received a dream, in which a gentle calico molly with stars in her pelt spoke to her. She told Shinefeather of the great destiny that awaited her. There was once a great clan that lived in the forest bordering the mountains, which has disbanded many generations ago. Shinefeather's destiny was to revive this clan. Eager, Shinefeather woke up and set off into the forest. Along the way she met a brown-furred tom named Thistle. After many days of exploring, the two found what must have been the previous clan's camp. A large clearing, with spaces in the bases of the trees where the cats would sleep. With her discoveries in mind, she returned to the glimmering pool and once again fell into a deep slumber. She was greeted once again by the calico she-cat from before, who congratulated her. The new clan would be named Shineclan, in honor of their new founder. Shinefeather became Shinestar, and her soon-to-be mate would take on the name Thistlepelt. Their clan was small at first, but it quickly grew. Loners, rogues, and former kittypets were all welcomed into the new clan. Cats were accepted regardless of their backgrounds, and the clan soon flourished and thrived. Shinestar is now long gone, but her clan will never forget her dedication, and the limitless bravery she showed in her lifetime.

    Shineclan Territory

Shineclan makes their home in a large, thick, green forest. The forest is so thick that they are fairly protected from the unruly weather that tends to show its head, from rain to snow. To the west, directly bordering the forest lies a massive mountain range, stretching out for what looks like miles. In the base of the mountain lies a cave, which looks like a dead end at first sight. However, in the back there is a narrow path, and upon following the path, it opens up to a large, wide cavern. In the middle lies a wide glimmering pool. This cavern has been named the Sparkling Cavern, and it serves as the place where medicine cats can commune with Starclan. To the south of their camp, laying just outside their southernmost border, the forest ends and there lies a large twolegplace. The forest stretches onward and onward toward the north and the east, although not much of it beyond the borders has been explored.

Prey includes mice, moles, birds, squirrels, voles, shrews, and the occasional snake.

Predators include badgers, foxes, bears (uncommon), dogs (uncommon) and mountain lions (rare)

    Shineclan Camp

Shineclan's camp lies in a large clearing, the entrance hidden from the outside by a thick layer of undergrowth. There are many large trees lining the clearing, with holes in the bases of the trunks in which the cats make their dens. The medicine den, the nursery, and the elder's den are the most secure, with their entrances being protected by layers of vines and small branches, making it difficult for predators to enter uninvited. Directly across from the camp entrance, there's a large tree with a boulder directly beside it. The leader's den is located higher on the tree, making it somewhat difficult to reach and requiring cats to climb up the branches. The leader stands on the boulder overlooking the clearing and calls meetings from the top. The warrior's den lays on the west side of the camp beside the elders' den and the medicine den, while the apprentice's den is on the other side near the nursery.

    ☪ Wolfstar

Slowly pushing his way through the den entrance, Wolfstar stretches his jaws in a wide yawn as he pads across the branch jutting out from just underneath his den, standing on the end for a few moments to watch over the camp. The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon. Wolfstar had never really been an early riser in his warrior days, but he supposed things were a bit different now. He turned and nimbly hopped off the branch and onto the boulder that sat beside the tree, and sat down with his tail curled around his paws. Not much to do now besides wait for the rest of the clan to wake.

    ☪ Brackenpaw

    8 | Medicine Cat Apprentice | Bisexual | Mentor: Mintwhisker | Crush/Mate: Open | Interacting: Mintwhisker Rontu

    ( "talking" )

Brackenpaw slowly poked his head out of the medicine den. His eyes were wide as he gazed around at the clearing, covered in blood. His ears pinned back, he slowly exited the den, gazing around rapidly for his mentor. He halted as he caught sight of Robinpaw's body and he froze. He knew that the attack had been devastating, but to know that some of their clanmates had died... It was horribly upsetting to the poor young tom. "M-Mintwhisker?" Brackenpaw croaked weakly as he approached the older tom. "Is-Is there anything I can do to-to help?"

    ☪ Frostspirit

32 | Warrior | Pansexual | Apprentice: Longpaw | Crush: Open | Interacting: Whitestar Blitz Krieg

Frostspirit forced her eyes open with a grunt. Her head was aching horrible, and her entire body felt sore. She pushed herself to her paws, stumbling slightly as a wave of dizziness washed over her. She shook her head a bit, hissing softly at the pain she felt in her ear. That coyote had left quite the nick in her right ear. There were also wounds on her sides, but they weren't all that bad. After a quick sweep of the camp, she spotted Whitestar and stumbled over to her sister, panting softly. "White-Whitestar!" The molly gasped, crouching beside the leader. "Are-Are you alright?" She figured the worst of her wounds had been healed by Starclan, but she felt concerned nonetheless.

After a quick gaze around, she was saddened to see many of their fallen clanmates. Mottledear. Wolfstride. Ivorypool. And even poor young Robinpaw. Frostspirit unsheathed her claws and dug them into the dirt, a strong wave of grief overtaking the white she-cat. She closed her eyes and lifted her head miserably. Oh, Starclan, why has this happened to us?

    ☪ Brackenpaw

    ( "talking" )

Brackenpaw had done his best to assist his clanmates, treating their injuries to the best of his ability. Afterwards, despite how shaken up he'd been, he managed to fall into a deep sleep, the stress and fear the attack left behind having exhausted the young tom. He was soon roused by Whitestar's call, groggily flicking an ear as he slowly got to his paws. He wearily padded toward the entrance and carefully took a seat beside Mintwhisker, his ears pinned back against his head. The loss of several of their clanmates deeply saddened the young tom. He wrapped his tail tightly around his paws, waiting for Whitestar's announcement.

    ☪ Frostspirit

The warrior slowly made her way out of the warrior's den with a huff. Luckily, it seemed she'd managed to avoid getting seriously harmed. What wounds she did have were treated by a shaken Brackenpaw, including the nick in her ear. She glanced up at her sister as she called for a meeting and moved to sit somewhere in the middle of the crowd. Unlike her normal cheerful personality, her face was shadowed with solemnity and grief. With a small sigh, she awaited their leader's announcements.

    ☪ Winterbreeze

    79 | Warrior | Pansexual | Apprentice: Bluepaw | Crush/Mate: Pine None| Interacting: Open

    ( "talking" )

The senior warrior grunted and arched her back in a small stretch as she began to rouse from her slumber, opening her jaws wide in a large yawn. Winterbreeze slowly pushed herself to her paws with a small huff and shook out her pelt. She carefully made her way out of the den, pausing for just a moment to give Oakfrost a playful nudge in an attempt to rouse the tom, before entering the camp. Her gaze scanned the camp, taking in the activity of her clanmates. She could see her apprentice interacting with her mother and decided to leave her be, opting to sit down with her tail wrapped around her paws instead.

    ☪ Forestpaw

6 | Apprentice | Homosexual | Mentor: Emberflight | Crush: Open | Interacting: Emberflight Paleflame

    ( "talking" )

The young tom woke up not too long after his sister, quickly jumping to his paws and only pausing for a few moments to groom his ruffled fur. Forestpaw made his way out of the den, glancing around and perking up when he spotted his mentor. He meowed a quick good morning to his sister as he passed by, before approaching his mentor with a respectful dip of his head. "Good morning, Emberflight." He greeted quietly. "What's the plan for today?"

    ☪ Brackenpaw

    8 | Medicine Cat Apprentice | Bisexual | Mentor: Mintwhisker | Crush/Mate: Open | Interacting: Open

    ( "talking" )

Brackenpaw grinned sheepishly at his mentor before turning back to the ceremony. He watched as the apprentices who'd lost their mentors were assigned to other warriors, and sat up straight as Batfang, Dewpetal and Dappledsky received their warrior names. He chanted the three cats' names excitedly, especially proud of his best friend who, even after spending so much time in the medicine den, managed to finally receive his name. He deserved it, Brackenpaw thought, after fighting so hard in the battle with the coyotes. They all did.

    ☪ Frostspirit

    32 | Warrior | Pansexual | Apprentice: Longpaw | Crush: Open | Interacting: Open

    ( "talking" )

Frostspirit smiled and chanted the new warriors' names along with everyone else. Despite the recent attack, Prairieclan was still strong, and these cats had definitely earned their names, for fighting so bravely even in the face of danger. It reminded her that, even though they'd had heavy losses, all was not lost. They would recover, and they would bounce back from this tragedy stronger than ever. At least, she thought so, anyway.
