    Larkpaw had been patrolling the border. Just like his stupid mentor had told him too. Water lapped at his paws and sand stuck between his claws as he waded through the shallows of the river. His yellowish brown fur made him sick, and he was caught in the vision of it as a small cat slammed into him.

    Glancing down, he hissed angrily. A small fawn tabby had slammed into him and pushed him back a step, almost making him trip on the moss covered rocks. Her exclaimed apology made him feel bad for his sudden anger, but he had been taught to watch the border, so he pounced.

    Aiming to swipe at her shoulder with his long claws, he tried to scratch her. "Trespasser!" he spat. He still felt bad, but if she was trespassing.. His mentor would think him a traitor if he let her loose.

    Startled, he snorted in surprise. Aiming a final blow, to box one of her ears, not painfully, he sat.

    Looking her over with an inquisitive green stare, he paused. "Sorry.." he mumbled, deciding to take the nicer approach to this cowering she-cat. "How can you not mean to trespass? The border is clearly marked" he huffed, flicking his short tail at the river banks. "Every clan knows the Riverclan border. Or are you a rouge?" he asked, fluffing up his fur again.

    He watched her. She was pretty but not to an extreme, like some she-cats he had seen from traveling clans. Larkpaw watched her, tucking his paws under his fluffy tail.

    Larkpaw watched her, half amused, half amazed. Smiling sheepishly he stepped forward. "Hey.. It's okay" he tried comforting. Not really his style.

    "Woodclan" he mused, letting the name roll off his tongue. "That's okay. Well, you don't seem much of a trespasser so I'm sure I can let you go" the words felt strange. Because he didn't want to let her leave. He wanted to keep her with him forever.

    A she-cat he'd only just met..

    Larkpaw watched her, butterflies sparking in his stomach. Smiling, almost embarrassed, he traced a claw along the ground watching the mud form around his claw.
    Intricatepaw.. He laughed slightly, amazed by her name. The feelings that she gave him surely were intricate.

    "Larkpaw. My name is Larkpaw" he mewed, a sort of finality in his tone. "It's fine. As long as I wash in the stream before I leave, and your scent dissapears from the banks, I won't be in trouble. My mentor's a bit of a nut" he explained, twitching his whiskers in amusement.

    His words spread warmth through his chest. He could hear it in her voice that she'd rather stay, and her thoughts fit perfectly into hers.

    Larkpaw laughed at her words. An honor? "I don't know if it'll be an honor. But I'd love to see you again" blushing at his words he tried to fix them, his tongue fumbling over each syllable. "I-I mean. Um..uh, sure, whatever" he tried to recompose himself.

    He felt a swell of pride at her own amusement, but it quickly died down as her eyes dropped to her paws. His own eyes trailed to the claw mark in the fast drying mud. His mentor certainly could never know about this. No one could. Even though he was sure none had heard of Woodclan, some elder or passing loner might have. Even the leader might have. That wouldn't be good for him or.. Intricatepaw. It would certainly be an intricate situation.

    Username} Twine
    Cat's name} Elkaria
    Appearance}
    Elkaria looks much like a forest. Not a burned down, polluted forest. Those are quite ugly, and Elkaria fortunately does not fall under that category. Instead, she is one of those shaded forests, alive with activity and laughter, insects and animals buzzing in around in a beautiful way many can't find.

    Elkaria is a large main coon with soft silky fur. Tufts make her large tail seem even larger and more menacing against the sky. Her fur itself is a middle brown, not dark but not light either. Paths of dark brown streak through her fur like lightning. Her large claws sports even larger menacing black claws that could rival Tigerstar's.

    Her eyes are said to be the most beautiful part of her. A soft teal that mimics a stretching sky. If you look closely you can see ghostly strips of silver leaking their way into the magnificence of her gaze. Her eyes usually mesmerize every cat that crosses her path.
    Personality}
    Elkaria is a sweet cat, despite her position. Her menacing figure lends towards other cats fearing her, but this kind creature attempts to fix everything others murmur about her when they think she isn't listening. Quite boisterous and loud at times, and even challenging of others rules, she can be a handful. She is as intricate as a maze of frost spreading across a window. Her personalities shift as she is quite bipolar.

    She has a side to her that she likes to protect. Think of her as a walking castle. The fragile princess dwells inside, protected, while outside her archers and knights man the drawn bridge and send arrows to the onslaught of enemies approaching. Though sometimes, those enemies are herself.
    Rank} Daedras
    Other} Well.. Favorite color.. >.> I have so many favorite colors why u make me pick? A very light teal.

    Me and Pouncy figured it out a while ago but haven't gotten around to putting it on the front page, sorry.
    We're incredibly lazy.
    Oh no, you're not nagging! It's fine <3
    These will be chosen towards the end of the month, sooner if we don't get many more apps, though at least I was hoping to get a few more. But around the last week of June. Sorry for no stone-set date!

    He purred, watching her leave. His heart tugged for her, wishing that she would stay.

    But he stood silent as he watched her pad away, his heart and stomach fluttering, eyes dancing with something even he did not understand. He waded into the stream, his shadow flickering over the tumbling surface, the cold embracing him in a frosty hug.

    As he dove into the water, letting it wash over him, fill his ears with water and the sound of the river music. A large fish flitted by him, realizing he was a cat almost too late, but Larkpaw didn't even try to reach out and snag the fish.

    Bursting up from the river his mind swirled around one cat. Intricatepaw. He had to see her again, if not he would definitely go insane. Leaping onto the sharp rocks he shook his tail, spattering the ground with water.

    His apprentice friends would tease him mercifully. There would be no safety if he had gone back with a she-cat's scent on his fur.

    A purr rumbled in his throat as he paced the river banks, a day later. No one had suspected him for foulplay, and he had gotten past his mentor's scrutinizing gaze.

    He wanted Intricatepaw to show up again, so bad he didn't even know what was happening to him anymore. Pushing a paw into the cold water, he hissed in surprise at the bite of water and waited for Intricatepaw. Maybe she would show.

    He laughed, breaking the connection of their gazes. His eyes flitted back to the water and the slow lapping of the waves. The way she said his name sent a tingle through his heart.

    "Sure" he purred. Flicking the tip of his tail at the water he faced her "first, put both paws in the water, stand next to me, in case you fall" he mused.
