They boarded the rainbow stoneship and Nicole looked over the edge of the slab of stone. Jason watched her for a moment, glad that their journey was nearly over, and paused when he caught Nicole looking at him.
"Don't think badly of me, Jason,"
Jason tilted his head to the side, "Why would I?"
She smirked slightly and turned away, "Could you, give me a moment?"
"What?"
"Just act like you can't see me for a second..."
Jason blinked at her, "What for?"
She sighed, "There are two types of people in the world Leon, those who can get upset and look good, and those who can't." She looked at him almost sadly, "I'm the latter...so, if you don't mind..."
Jason blinked for a moment then dutifully turned away, not fully understanding Nicole's meaning. He instantly turned back around when he heard a hiccuping sob escape her. He was silent, watching her shed her tears, with her face turned towards the sunlight.
She was crying for Grovyle who pushed Dusknoir back into the darkness that was the future. His sacrifice had touched her in a way he only attempt to wrap his mind around. She was crying for the friend she couldn't remember but trusted with her heart and soul.
A tiny moment of weakness.
Jason wished he could make those tears go away, to destroy that sadness that ate at her. But all he could do was stare...
