Halina rolled over, her cute pink tongue still sticking out. She twitched in her sleep, dreaming.

Wind bolted after her friends, breathless. She kept close to Vanilla, while listening to the hooves to the stampede and the herd around her.
Wish helped Neron herd the horses to safety, but stopped and turned around when she saw Neron was trapped. Wish ran along the side of the stampede, trying to find a break in the endless mass of running animals.

"I'm Aurora," the little brown eagle said. "I'm sorry if I'm intruding on your territory."

Wind heard Bree whinny, and raced forward, along the side of the island at the beach. She thought about what she could do to help Bree. IN her rush, she didn't scent the seal she had met earlier, and nearly tripped over it. Turning she continued along the beach. Luckily, it looked like rain was on the way, but Bree had been burnt. Think!Wind told herself, You're the one who wants to be a healer! Wind went into the forest, sniffing the plants. She finally pulled up a soft green plant. Wind chewed the plant into pulp while she cantered toward Bree. Well, were she had heard Bree.

"Sure," Cherrystar purred. "Lets go farther into the forest and find more birds." She buried her prey under the large oak, before leading the apprentices back into the misty shelter of the evergreen trees. Memoryheart's warning and the rock with the flames danced across her vision, making her uneasy.
Cloud bounced after her, trying to make the least noise possible. He glanced sideways at Stormpaw, while grinning in excitement.

Halina's bright eyes opened, and she watched Raeli curiously.

Wish looked over her shoulder at Amber, Starshine, and the herd. "Get the foals to safety!" she warned. She heard Wind yelling, and knew suddenly that the stampede had been spooked by the flames along the beach on the other side of the island. "Neron!" she called to the stallion.

Wind lowered her head, exhausted from yelling over her shoulder to the herd. Then she turned and hurried along the beach, back to were she had heard Bree. She picked up a mouthful of the poultice she had made from the leaves and vines in the forest, and carried them toward Bree. Her mind spun, trying to understand how to put out the flames she knew had existed because of the smell of smoke, and Bree's whinny. The thought of Bree brought her back to reality. Wind swallowed a deep breath, and called, "Bree!"

"Hawkfrost, I'm going to take the bird back to camp. Can you please watch the apprentices?" Cherrystar asked him. She picked up her prey and looked politely at Hawkfrost.
Cloud bounded ahead of the patrol, and saw a shrew in the bushes. He dropped back and looked at Stormpaw. Cloud motioned with his tail to were the shrew was hidden.

"Thank you Hawkfrost," Cherrystar whispered, padding back to camp.
Cloud stalked forward, his eyes on the shrew.

"Hi," Halina purred. Her chocolate brown eyes were wide with curiosity and mischievousness as she scrambled onto her large golden paws.

Cloud leaped forward, catching the shrew. "My first land prey," he purred, killing the shrew. He looked up for Hawkfrost's approval, but saw that his leap had spooked a blackbird that Hawkfrost was watching. "I-I'm sorry," Cloud stuttered. "I'll be quieter next time," he promised, his green eyes wide.

Cherrystar got back to camp and dropped the dove and the mouse that she had caught on her way back from the patrol. She studied the pile, before picking up the sparrow she had also caught earlier, and carrying it toward the medicine cat's den. Instead of leaped through the roof as she had done that morning, Cherrystar ducked onto the hidden path that granted easier access to the den. She silently watched the water rush over her head, and splash down the little waterfalls. She placed the sparrow infront of the den and quietly backed toward the clearing.

"Thank you," Cloud purred. He was very happy that he had managed to impress the deputy.
"Hi," Cherrystar said. "Thought you might be hungry,"

"Wow," Cloud breathed, watching in amazement.

Cloud smiled and crept silently forward.

Cloud caught the mouse

"Bree!" Wind said, rushing toward the sound. "Are you okay?"
